  1. We stayed cool and relaxed with Downtempo/Chill Out music and I really hope that this type will be organised more often and make Downtempo growin up.

Me too! I also had a great time, very cool, layed-back party with moments with a lot of energy - very nice combination :D Great to see people dancing to this kind of music. Nice sets btw! Can you tell the last 2 tracks you've played?

  2. Sometimes I have the feeling that a group like Pleiadians could amke any kind of music and the people would still call it commercial crap.

Au contraire, mon ami. If you've used to create high energy-music, immense powerful stuff, and then you make something complete the opposite... Then yeah, you're going to lose some fans. :)

On the other hand, after years of creating the same stuff, you want to try something different as an artist. And you've got to admit, the early full on/psytrance sounds great and had lots of potential, until the bad boys came in and TOOK OUR MUSIC *South Park reference*! Haha. You know what I mean. But I guess money is indeed a big factor.

  3. Are there any Videos existing of Etnica/Pleiadians/CropCircle performing live pre-2000? Or interviews for that matter...

Yes I remember a video of Etnica playing at a festival, it was pretty short but so good; if I remember it correctly Trip Tonite was playing. Some guy with long dark hair was behind the DJ booth, with some nice ravin' dance moves. B) Can't find it anymore though!
  4. - Good use of pads, sounds nice 'n thick. Bird samples sound good too, no low quality here

    - the kick really sucks :-( needs more low and definitely more mid, but I think the best way to do it is just to create a new one!

    - bassline needs some work too, but maybe that's just because of the kick, don't know. Can't hear it that well in the parts where there are melodies.

    - nice melodies and cool story bro'! Nothing really new but that doesn't matter - would like to hear more of such things! :)

    = Thumb goes up!

  5. Nothing exists for millions of years in a static state. Species evolve at different rates, sure. I don't see what this has to do with ANYTHING. It was just an analogy.

Mine was too. And please, cut the flaming. It's a simple discussion, if it doesn't mean anything to you then those insults really aren't necessary.

The only thing I expect from an artist is that he's creating music he likes, and tries to express himself as much as possible. If it sounds like music made a couple of years before, what's the problem? You don't HAVE to like it. By the way, most of the new stuff being released nowadays isn't my cup of tea either - let alone what's being released in the 'evolved' genres like darkpsy and full on..

I kind of agree with this:

My point in this "debate" is that what's now considered "New Goa" in my opinion has very little to do with the Goatrance I consider to be genuine Goatrance and used to like.

But that's an other debate than Consciesness'.
  6. Was there any hope to begin with? It's been almost a decade after the death of goatrance and 6 years after it's supposed rebirth(Sky Input year to me) and where are we at? ~20 Goa-trance albums a year. That number is laughable..

Well, I agree that there are very few artists who have an original style, or a different approach to goa trance nowadays. And I also think that there isn't much experimenting going on anymore, since a lot of the artists think that long melodies are the only thing that build a goa track (at least that's how I feel and hear it). But it takes time, the whole revival is still going on, people still make music and new artists are still coming up. The golden years may be over, but I prefer quality above quantity ^_^
  7. I really don't see an artist like MFG and Pleiadians coming to this scene in a long while, if ever. We're past that, unfortunately. You're expecting a rebirth of the old complex goa-trance..

Sounds like you've lost all hope for psychedelic trance :D
  8. I love Suntrip but I really believe that they should release more dark, complex and psychedelic goa in the future.

Unfortunately it seems that every time someone thinks of new school goa immediately he thinks morning melodic and worst of all Dimension 5 style. We need more complex and psychedelic goa trance, I think we have enough floating goa.

    IMO of course :)

Suntrip shouldn't be held responsible for the whole newschool scene. They say what they do, and they do what they say: reviving melodic (positive) goa trance. It's up to other labels and artists to decide if they want to do the same, or do something different.
