  1. Hey guys So... i love stuff like the old atomic pulse (de-toxicated), juvenile, altom and the likes all of whom seem to have stopped making tracks... Also various tracks by other artists like gms, shanti, space cat and the likes but they all seem to have taken to making clubby rave trance Any suggestions of artists or single tracks that are happy and energetic but still keep it real and aren't peppered with cheese and vocals? Please... anything... i'm starting to listen to silence due to the fact that i cant seem to find anything good nowadays Doesn't have to be brand new... but post-2003 would be nice Here's some melodies that i like (there's many more but i couldn't find them on youtube): Thanks for your input Juvenile - Predator hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3_y0yVVXic#t=3m15s Space Cat - Power Up hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5Ptg5Mb2MQ#t=4m55s Altom - Not For Children hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi2mvmlz3S0#t=3m55s Sesto Sento - 1st Quality hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCmz9YyGb8Y#t=4m02s Shanti vs Frequency surfer - In The Nick Of Time hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTRwszZi_Yc#t=3m27s Alien vs The Cat vs Shanti - The Purist hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRrvPCfsT6c#t=6m13s

  3. Anyone know the track at the beginning and the track that starts at 3:15?
  4. Hey guys, I'm looking for the name of an artist... i had a cd of his that was released in 2006 (maybe 2005?) Anyways it was a chillout album, very trippy, groovy/funky psychedelic breakbeats with lots of short little twisted sounds everywhere. It was quite a happy vibes sound, not dark in any way. Oh and the name might have started with an O... not sure of that though... So yeah, i know my description sucks but i remember it being very fresh and unique among the vibrasphere-like stuff that was coming out at that time. Also, if you know any other artists that would fit the description i gave please let me know Thanks a lot!
  5. I used to think that a DJ is a person who makes music. I asked my parents to buy me turntables for my birthday cause I thought I could somehow use them make some cool "songs". My dad used to receive catalogues from this music gear warehouse and I used to love looking at the pictures of the "techno machines". One time I almost ordered what must have been a compressor or something, because I thought I could push the buttons and it would make music that sounds like "DJ Bobo" and "2 Unlimited" (thats what I used to listen to in those days).
  6. Thanks for the input guys! Funny thing is that the voice sample was actually what inspired the creation of the track in the first place, but I agree it's totally cliche and has been done to death. Will hunt for something better. Otherwise, its good to know I'm on the right track (lol). Will do some more work on it, maybe incorporate some melody, and I'll post an update as soon as I finish the next segment. Peace
  7. Hi guys, I've been messing around with Cubase for a few years now (mostly just making loops) and decided it's time to get a bit more serious and start making an actual track. Been working on this for the past few days so its only like two and a half minutes long, but I need some proper criticism before I continue. I want to make this track as good as I possibly can so please let me know (as specific as possible) things that you dislike, things you would add or remove, instruments that are too loud or too soft, changes you would make to the structure, are there too little or too many sounds, too repetitive or not repetitive enough, what would you do for the next part, etc. etc. I can't ask my friends cause they'll say anything sounds awesome even if I show them some garbage that I made in 2 minutes. Thanks for the help guys, looking forward to your comments. Here's the Track (I maximized the main channel at a threshold of -3db): http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/1/23/2280954/Drugs.mp3
  8. Awesome! Thanks! I wish someone would do a remix of this track, I really love it.
  9. Hey, I got this a few years back in a folder called "GMS 04". It does sound like GMS but I've been unable to find it anywhere else. It's one of my all time favorite tracks so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. http://rapidshare.com/files/166945643/Track04.mp3
  10. Awesome. The breaks at 1:43 and 2:54 could use a bit of work but otherwise an excellent track. How did you make those sounds? FM? I want your presets!
