Going to a Bat Mitzvah ?

If there are still Jewish people on this forum I have a question :

My mom was invited to a Bat Mitzvah and she asked me to come along.

I agreed, but I don't know if I will regret it or not. Will it be boring or OK etc.

Also, I no longer have a suite jacket, I don't know what people wear to them.

It probably varies from country to country. I am familiar with Bat Mitzvahs / Bar Mitzvahs in the US by Reform Jews (the most liberal US branch).

There's usually a religious ceremony of approx 2+ hours on a Saturday morning at a temple, followed by a reception or party. If you don't have a suit, you can probably get away with a coat and tie at a Reform temple. Conservative and Orthodox temples (the other US branches) may be a little more strict about attire; I don't really know. It there's a reception there's probably little or no music. If there's a party there will probably be music but some of it will be chosen for older relatives and guests. Usually mainstream pop or dance music. No psy, no goa, no EDM. :(

If you know the family, you'll probably have a good time. If not, you may get a little bored.

Hope this helps.
