Simon Posford is exploring again new ways in the psychedelic style. Maybe this time he smoked too much DMT but this project is very unique and exceptionnal in my own opinion ! Nothing to see with the dancefloor power of "Space Pussy" or "Jiggle of the Sphinx" but these tracks made it for me! They're more "atmospheric-oriented" than his old projects because there's less keyboard melodies and more atmospheric noises but i can say that they're very complex and well built. Mi Loony Um (T1) is my favortie. In this track Posford explore a new kind of psychedelic atmosphere with a really massive bass-drum and powerfull twisting effects. Excellent work with the modem and internet connection sounds too. Personnally i love it and i can say that's an instant classic too !!! Maybe the old-school-melodic-cheese-goa-fan will be a little bit disapointed because that's not the style on this CD. The LSD remix from LSG. (oliver lieb) is too trancy for me but is not totally bad for that. Only one thing i think he abuse from the Hallucinogen samples from lsd and demention. Anyway that's not a masterpiece but it's listenable and the bass-drum is powerfull. The only thing that can be bad for the true psychedelic music fans is the repetitive trance sound that become boring and simple with the track progression. Finally Beautiful People (T3) is not so bad but not a masterpiece in my own opinion. The abuse of "the beautiful people" sample make me sick. I just want to skip the track everytime is listen to it ! The track is more melodic than Mi Loony Um but is not comparable to the usual Posford works. a really good track compared to all the other stuff that comes out from labels this spring. I hope that Posford will not catch the minimalistic wave too much because all the artists seems to pass by that direction this year... I just saw Simon Posford live in Dunnville (ontario-canada) at the WEMF last week and his live tracks were far better than theses tracks !! Especially "Beautiful People"...so maybe he can do better 9.5/10 for Mi Loony Um 6/10 for LSD remix by LSG 7/10 for Beautiful People. More i listen to it, more i like it. But anyway, that's not "Space Pussy" (that's personnaly my favortie and fetish hallucinogen track with Angelic Particles). First track "Mi Loony Um" is already a classic, i agree with Jean-Sebastien. It's between melodic stuff and minimalist/weird stuff......after all, Hallucinogen typical style....killer track. Track 2, Lsd olivier Lieb remix is totally different from the original, it's a very powerfull techno-trance track, good for dance....if you like this style, this remix will become one of your favorite. Last Track, "Beautiful People" is more minimalist than the first track, but very well built...listen to the master... It's not psychedelic, buy hey, its Oliver Lieb, so it's full on club trance, and i think good club trance. Have you ever heard this on phat soundsystem, Raja Ram played it at the Lovefield this year, and the dancefloor went crazy. What a heresy, but i like the Lieb mix better than My-loon-ium, that doesnt do anything for me. I prefer Hallucinogens first CD over the new stuff, the one with the original LSD on it.
