Anyone? You can bash it if you want....

Hi Stalker.

People won't even bash it and you know why? Because it would take too much time, to download it, to listen it and then to find something interesting to say that would not be "hey nice track bro, keep up the good work".

Yes that's how it is, and no it's not because the forum doesn't get enough visits: the amount of answer in NHJOHYENNRO thread proves it I think.

And what about producers that post here? Only them know how pleasant it can be to receive some nice feedback. They are the one who should make an effort. This is not directed against you personally of course (as I see you also answer to other's thread) but just a general feeling I have.

But sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear

So about yout track, two opposite thoughts came to my mind : Great for the originality and all the ideas behind the track :) , but bad for the production part :(

It sounded like a 64kbps Mp3 recorded in mono. Maybe something went wrong during the mp3 conversion. And that's too bad because it ruined the track : I could barely hear the reverb and I found all the low frequencies(mostly the bass) a bit irritating and monotonous. The rest however was good and original I think. I don't know many "dark psy" (I guess that's what you're trying to do) artists that prefer the minimalistic style over the agressive kicks & basseline, or artist that would use a 1minute long break like the one at 3min40 in your track.

Ok that's all for now :D

Thanks Mckoy

You have said it all. I was thinking about this subject a few days ago....

And about the music...the production is bad indeed. As i said on another topic, i dont have monitors right now and i am doing this for fun with some computer speakers, so i cant see excatly what is going on, expecally in terms of frequencies adjusts

You say that the low frequencies are too loud?

Another thing, this is not masterized, and many things are in mono, the thing is that i didnt pan anything yet.

i agree that certain people recieve way more attention (mostly not serious). so being a producer myself ill give you a few short comments on the track.

i listend to the track already when you posted it in the freeware thread, and as i know that this track wasnt done in your home studio and only with freeware i wont be too critical.....joke.... ofcourse ill be critical ;)..

well it does sound a bit mono especially in the beginning and somehow it doesnt sound as polished as "Kt". (a step back from "Kt") try maybe also to use less reverb or make it less obvious that u are using reverb, a dry sound has more punch. i like the delayed percussion, that works really well. i see where you are going with this track...polish it up somewhat.....maybe when you get home ;)....

Hi again.

You say that the low frequencies are too loud?

No, not too loud. My headphones aren't that good either, so maybe that's just me, but I had the feeling that some frequencies of the bass had been filtered and I could only hear a "sub-bass" if you see what I mean.

I liked the way you used your drums and I think you should use some stereo echoes (or multi tap as it's called in reason) and not some normal echoes.

And maybe use different reverb in order to give a more "metallic" feeling to your sound.

Thnaks both Philter and Mckoy for the great feedbacks :)

I now went to see what was wrong and i realized that, the bass is indeed too much filtered, and i will remove that... or at least most of it.

I will also try to make it sound better by mastering on Logic, and i will post here the other version. The song is very lown in "punch" indeed, and i will try to fix that.

As for the structore, i must say that the "repetitive" feeling was intencional.

I tryed to make something that slowly progrees, but never get to an edge...just stay contanst with in its rythm. Good thing that the the percussion turned out nice to you guys B)

But this was more home listening oriented, some kind of intro track...

or like some guy had put it on another forum " something to listen driving back home, after a party"
