At nearly 2 and half hours, I must confess I have not yet made it the end of this mammoth offering. Eternal is right. In short, I really like this music a lot. The first thing that strikes me as I listen to the first few tracks is they have excelled at conjuring up exciting textures. It feels deliciously gooey, soft and a little bit scratchy. In their earlier music I was impressed by the spatial effects and the same is very true here. Some of the melodies drift around as you listen and seem to take on a kind of almost 3D depth. This is very hard music, as even though the Dawn half of it is slower and mixed more softly, I feel a relentless drive in the looping patterns and continuous beats and there is a nice darkness even to the Dawn CD. The Dusk one is even harder, faster and louder. It has some great voice samples as well. No spoilers here. The only other thing is I don't totally get that cover art. Guess I need to stare at it for a while. Some kind of fairytale theme. 8.5 / 10

  3. So, there was a discussion on Schlabbaduerst Rekkords group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/12107835483/) on facebook regarding a vinyl pressing. This post is about trying to gauge the interest if there is any, discuss ideas, means of achieving and having a general discussion about one of our favourite label and artist, Schlab and David respectively. Few questions which I would like to hear your answers : # Would you participate in a crowdfunding activity for a Schlab/BoTFB vinyl.? If yes, what will be the amount you will be comfortable pledging and for what period of time will you be willing to wait. # Would you be ok with a 180gm double vinyl of an album or would you prefer a single 10"/12", please do mention what you wish to be pressed. #If we ended up succeeding in turning this idea into a reality and the vinyls are pressed in Sweden itself, would the high shipping prices affect your decision to pledge.? Please note that this activity is being provided out of self-interest and David would be informed about this topic, how this topic is received and the responses shared here are definitely important and they might encourage David to pursue the idea. All final decisions will of-course reside with David. This is just our way of showing interest and encouraging him to purse this idea.
  4. Yes yes and yes! The Buddhas are back with "Everything". Don't you just love them for their simplicity? Here's the post by David on facebook. " The new album "Everything" is finalized and sent for mastering to Christer from Ka-Sol. So we're awaiting mastering and artwork and then the pressing. It will probably take about 2 months from now. You will get to hear samples before that. It will be released in glorious 6 page format on Chronicle of Mystery Records! Tracklisting: 1: It's Only Disko 2: I Don't Know 3: Lacking it All (The Valley of the Shadow of Death remix) 4: Time 5: True Hope 6: The Cupboard 7: Consciousness 8: Faith 9: The Infinite Process It will probably not surprise you that there is a journey from darkness to light on the album, so the first tracks are proper night music, going through more melodic dawn music, to energetic morning music and some more relaxed stuff in the end. I am very pleased with the result! There's more however. There will also be a remix album released digitally later on, with remixes from Everything and Urban Legends. And, there's even more music in the pipeline. "
