  1. hey.. thanks guys... very helpful stuff... gonna go check out your tracks spindrift... thanks again... chirag..
  2. wow... thanks...thats great information.... i was under the impression that in order to make a bass line sound tighter or fatter you must compress... so its possible that initially a bass and kick may sound great and need not be compressed or eq'd at all... also i was under the impression that either the kick or the bass contains low frequencies and not both..and the same frequencies must be eq'd accordingly..so that only the kick or only the bass had the lower frequencies... also i'd like to know a little more about sidechain compression on a psy trance bassline...is it possible in fruity using the fruity compressor?? or maybe a vst compressor i can get... thanks..
  3. hi... does anyone know any general guidelines to eq and compress a psy trance bassline... stuff like parasense,psychomicro,azax,digitaltalk... where the kick and the first note of the bass play together...and the bass fills all the notes... + + + + kick ================ Bass i use fruity loops 4 and so far i have got best results when i follow this procedure - sequence the kick and bass in piano roll...assign fx channel 1 to kick and 2 to bass where each can be eq'd as necessary...load a compressor in aux send 1.. send kick channel and bass channel to compressor in required amounts... i am not sure if this is the way its done...also i'm not sure what to do first eq or compress... any help would be great... thanks chirag
  4. hi.. i have a creative audigy platinum 2 soundcard... it has a co axial optical and spdif ins and outs... i also have a pair of roland digital monitors which i hook up via the spdif out of the sound card to the ins on one speaker..from one speaker's out to the others co axial out.. i also have a lg dvd player... i just bought an optical cable.. i would like to know how to record samples from my dvd player when i hook up the dvd optical out to my sound card optical in and monitoring off my digital speakers connected to the coaxial spdif on my sound card... i also activated spdif input on the creative mixer source selection panel.. i am able to see an LR signal on the creative recorder but the signals are very hot..clipping... i am not able to hear or monitor this signal...i know the signal is coming from the dvd player cause when i press pause on the dvd player the signal on the meter stops. i am able to record it ,then play it back... BUT all i hear is some sort of digital jitter or something like that... i also tried this in fruity loops with the same results.. Only when i play audio cd's on my dvd player everything works fine...i am able to monitor and get healthy signal levels..no problems... but with vcd's or even burned dvd's all i get is jitter... i still need to try an orignal dvd... . how do i reduce recording levels? even though i pull the record level slider all the way down i still get hot signals.. . how do i monitor the signal coming in before or even without recording... . why am i hearing jitter and not an audio signal? any help would be great... thanks.. chirag
  5. hi.. i think the psy trance from russia is great.. i think parasense is from russia also psykovsky..
  6. hi... thanks for replying... interesting...building 10 minutes of the basic skeleton of the track and then taking out and adding parts...never really tried that... i have noticed in some tracks by say psycho micro,azax.... that there are about 8 bars or 16 bars of a bassline with some rhythem...hihats ,snares ...stuff like that and just nice long sounds ... creating a scene... like how sound effectes in movies progress from one to the other... and then for the next 8 to 16 bars a nice lead comes in with the same or different bassline and drum loops... something like that.... anyway.. thanks..
  7. hi.. i've been trying to make psy trance for almost 3 years now.. i feel that i have improved considerably in certain areas.... i am able to make parts of the track..like a bassline some drum loop,a lead and some background sounds...i am also a little more comfortable with synths and the various functions... i have a problem when it comes to putting these parts togather... also .. these parts seem to rush through ... i would like to know something about laying out patterns so the whole tracks seems to flow... i am able to make a pattern for say 16 beats but i am unable to continue to the next part of the track using variations of the same pattern... any ideas on how to construct a track with a gradual build up and how to keep the continuety in a track between the different parts... thanks...
