1. Hey everybody.

I just felt the need to share a beautiful experience with you. I recently obtained Mystery of the Yeti 2 and today i set out into the snow on the last league of my journey in search of the Yeti and a meaningful moment. It was a profound sense of happiness and I can't say this enough: This cd is beautiful! To all of you who have not yet bought this cd and are having doubts whether or not to buy it: For the love of all that is holy, good and ambient - DO IT. This is music when it's best. What an amazing collection of ambient bliss.  :D

'Twas nightfall when the snow fell across the city. I geared up and set out into the blizzard with my discman and began listening to Yeti part 2. I entered the dark wood as the snow fell thicker and thicker and darkness took me. I strayed out of thought, out of darkness, out of mind to the soft tones of Process' "Under mount Kailash".  :)

As i went on into the forest, I suddenly saw a white-clad shaman beside me. And as i began to feel the howling wind and the gnawing cold, he told me about the Yeti, the amanammenammenal snowman and that that he was in fact not of this world. Neither animal nor pre-human being, but actually one of the Shaman's gods, his real name is "Banjankri" which means "the shaman of the forest". Furthermore, he told me to go in trance and then i would find the Yeti easily. And so i did. I also remembered to put some alcohol in front of the forest as he told me to. I came upon a crossroad when i heard a snarling, growling sound behind me. I became anxious, turned around and looked. But all i could see was darkness and there was nothing out there except the howling wind and the naked trees. After about half an hour I became weary and exhausted and lied down in the snow. Then suddenly... it happened and I found myself freefalling upwards towards the dark night sky and the snow completely enveloped me.

As i fell awake, i found myself lying in the snow again. Weary and cold i decided to head home, without having found the Yeti. My legs began to quit on me and my hands were numb from the cold. As i walked home, I heard a voice behind me, out there in the snow and the darkness. I looked behind me but no one was there. But then, suddenly... there he was... right in front of me. The white effigy and the shimmering sparks heralded the presence of the Yeti. And he spoke to me. His voice was soft and soothing and incredibly mesmerizing. He told me about the abominable snowman.... uncaught.... unspecified.... but not unhonoured.

And for a moment i completely forgot the blizzard and felt a big wide smile on my face. I paid my hommage to the yeti and thanked him for this profound life-experience. And then he disappeared out into the darkness.

Never had i felt such profound joy and decided to head home. Content that the Yeti is out there, and that my quest had brought me to this experience.  :)

    I found the Yeti.....

    Did you?  ;)

  2. found this site from the net... there's some new (and unreleased) tracks made by him available! :) Have only listened one track and it's njam njam  :D

Sooo...looks like Psygone isn't that gone after all!  :D hurray! hurray!

    213200

awesome traxx!! get them now!! :D:D

    thank you so much man!

  3. I'd also want Psynews not to be the Anti-FullOn site (forum/community), but to be true goa site (forum/community). U feel the difference, don't you?

    212730

im honest and i feel the difference a lot , this community is truly goa and open minded. :)

  4. I'm not writing on any other psy-forum anymore...

Psynews is unique because it's like the "alternative" forum... Where Isratrance is all about hypes and popular music from the moment, Psynews is more about all kinds of trance (except full on it seems) altough I think some more progressive lovers would be welcome :)

    same here :)

im going to get this and your other releases! :)

    best luck Asura.

  6. jea dude I'm not a true goa'er

    :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

wait until u find out who i am  ;)

maybe the fact that u say the market is labelling music in a false way, proves that the definition of what 'goa-trance' is, is something personal...

don't get me wrong, i actually think u're right on this one, but i think we both have different opinions on what goa-trance is...

and the fact that goa isn't made all made of fluffy happiness, is the point i was trying to make in my first post, maybe this will clear some things out

    212207

i already know who you are :P:P:P:P:P:P:)

there´s no problem i wasnt arguing , im just a little extreme on the fullon point.. :P;)

  7. Transient licensed Astral Projection albums for release in Europe and released some half decent compilations. They had Cosmosis and that's about it.

    Long live Cosmosis!

    211952

true , Long Live Cosmosis - Cosmology!! :D

  8. are you acknowledging my point or denying it?

    212198

im denying it , cause the market labels it as Goa but its not , the intention is to sell and get as much money they can get... no matter what its needed for it , full on is labeled as psytrance and its not...

and goa isnt all made of morning of happyness and fluffyness... a true Goer

    would know that.

  9. I agree with Anoebis, I've heard them few months ago and it was exactly how he described, full on/techno...Maybe someone can get into it, newcommer or whoever, but old trancer, NAAAH...

    212177

true , i forgot all those old skool artists , those are DEAD not Goa.

and btw Etnica´s new album , bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

  10. roight

    call me a nitwit

but why is 'goa' supposed to be fluffy morning and happy? cuz every album posted so far in this thread is this kind of music.........

i don't see what that music has in common with groups like lunar asylum, BOTFB,phreaky, cydonia, deviant electronics, synchro, quirk, xenomorph, hux flux, you name it............and as far as i know that's called 'goa' as well........

the way i see it, the groups mentioned in this thread surely are somehow related to 'goa' music, but the 'dark-side' of goa trance is always forgotten on this forum !

IMHO nowadays artists like bigwigs, moodsyne, procs, scatterbrain, steptime, penta, para halu, kluster, early artifakt and shift (not what they make these days),fungus funk,ka-SOL, sienis, tamlin, weird alchemy, flying scorpions, fractal glider (not what he makes now, I'm referring to his 'parasite' album), huopotassu mononen, maybe even scandinavian music in general are just as well related to 'goa-trance' as the fluffy happyhappy morningreleases people are always talking of

or maybe the whole definition of 'goa-trance' is just a personal thing........

  11. As always with trying to define sound in words it's very subjective so ther is no right or wrong, but different definitions.

Normally crispness IMO is the opposite of warm sounding, but in a good way.

For sure more high frequency would many times result in a more crisp sound.

But also things like harmonics from subtle distortion will result in a more warm and fat sound.

So basically I would try to define it as a clear sound with much presence in the highs, but without harmonic distortion.

But somehow many VA's and software synths do not sound warm because you close the filter a bit.

For example sounds from some low bit resolution drum machines is still very popular, much due to the crispness they produce. (SP1200, the hihats on a 909)

Somehow the more stepped and less smooth curves of a lower resolution will give it a more crispy rather than warm impression.

Software synths using a higher resolution (hardware VA's or DSP based) will be easier to get a fat and warm sound out of it seems to me.

Since the first VA's like the nord lead came they have been very popular in trance, probably partly due to how easy it can be to fit more crispy digital sounds into the mix.

IMO warm fat analogueish sounds and crispy digital sounds go very well together.

thanks for the help as usual :D thanks! :)

  12. Hey Amithaba Buddha,

I was checking out the Suntrip Records site and your profiles, like you, Jannis, etc, to get a more general idea about yo'all. Do you have an album out or coming out called Amithaba Buddha? I'd be really curious to hear some of your work if you release an album or have already released an album. I enjoyed Filteria's album lots and was curious about your status with albums, songs, etc...

    thanks

    211940

    hello Jon ,

i dont have nothing released for now but you can get these unreleased promos

http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=22081 hoping for a rewiew or some comment (even it is bad) . cheers.

  13. otherwise, the only thing differentiating goa from full-on is the bassline.

when there can be so much more.

    211803

the difference bettween goa and full on are the kick , percussion , lack of melodies , lots of noise , and full concentration on the bassline .
