    I LOVE DARSHAN ! Awakening is one of the better psy albums of the period and Spectra is just ok, nothing more..But, I like their various singles : DUCK, NAVIGATOR, PSYCHOKINESIS, MIND MERGE, ENERGY TRANCE, THE BEAST, WARPED DIMENSION, ECO BLIP, SLIPSTREAM, BLACK MAGIC. Those songs are in range of their first album. I can't actually call them that dark though...

    Ive saw you guys talked a lot about so many Goa artists but i wonder what you think about Darshan?

    I like to hear this songs , its different from common Goa. Its dark ambient and trippy , very trippy. The guy starts with a dark layer and then takes you into a crazy 909 rythm and FM sounds with a simple saw bass all them in a small ambient and then takes you into a dark ambient again , it trips me a lot!

    I wonder what you guys think of it? :)

    BTW it's Binary Dreams, not Binary Skies (which is Ypsilon 5's album).

     

    And I know that you're into the "new school" vibe but if you ask me this one easily beats other newschool albums hands down (except for Filteria): Ethereal, Ypsilon 5, V/A - Pure Planet...

    Yes this would fit perfectly into a goa compilation and this is very experimental , altough its not the goa that we´re used to listen but its very nice music indeed! :)

    i listened to the album , altought it isnt goa or every other genre you´ve heard before. its binary sky style. he haves some acid sequences , drumnbass , breakbeat ,ambient and some goa on it , but it isnt Goa. its a good album , sounds old and homemade , sometimes the songs ask for more ambient layers , this is different from other releases out there , its his own style and his own ideas.

    The production could be better but its ok. To Jon and guys : this isnt Goa , it haves a few touches of it but it isnt Goa or psytrance.But it is good music.I enjoyed it.

     

    aparently the dude will release an album soon...  Personally I find he has so much talent it would be a real shame to keep promoting shitty full-on and clubby progressive when such TRUE artists are around...

    lets hope his next album is melodic and better than this one :)

    i used to use FLstudio 4. the program is good for beginners but it is very cheezy (in my opinion.) i became tired of its sequencer cause it isnt good for your mind .if later you want to change sequencer youll miss those patterns. if the same happens to you use Reason like i did. Reason sounds good , its just a matter of skills.but stick on FL if you like it. you can make all the mix on fl if you know how to do it , its just a matter of using good mastering tools for the case. :)

    i would definatly get the monitors. Mostly cause sound quality is to me, simply the main and most important thing of all. second, personally i don't know much about synths anyway, so i would first buy monitors and start with working with software in order to get to know things and to be able to experiment with sound. i think that if you get good feeling with software, and sound in general you can afterwards get synth and experiment with that.

    also, if you experience with real crappy soundsystem, you always have to imagine how it would sound on good monitors, and that is not much fun is it?

    i always used software.Im currently monitoring by monitor headphones , but anyone knows that too much time on headphones is bad for our ears... so ill probably get the speakers... B)
