  1. I would rather say it starts progressive( you know the pads and the harmonic) and the more you go toward the end the more it becomes israeli type full-on,

Not my style , but very well produced. You got the touch for making the endmix sound good.

    Hi Saikick.

    Thanks for your reply!

i believe i create unique and different soundpictures :)

  2. Man!! i love the progressive style in the start!!

The beat is funky as h*ll :) i just think its sad that it goes in fullon mode later on. i think you should keep this in the progressive end.

besides that not much happens. so get to work and complete this beast :)

  3. Your bass + kick + hats needs huge work !!

it sounds terrible. You need to take your bass lower down. i really dont like the rythm its playing either.

i cant say much more because i couldnt stand listening o it anymore than for a few seconds.

Dont hate me now, im just being honest about my opinion :)

  4. Well, the title says it all. I need to know if there are any good full-featured sequencers for linux.

Or if anyone's tried emulating windows and using FL/Cubase/Whatever I'd be happy to hear about your experience. :)

    Serious, dont do that!

Stick with Windows or the Mac OS's

Youre gonna regret bigtime when u find out all the stuff you want isnt linux compatible.

    Just an advise. :)

  5. here is my way to do it

I always create the "middle" of a track first

    1. Find a good kick

    2. Create a groovy bassline

    3. Add some nice Hihats

    4. add some groove percusion / rythmic synths

    5 Create the theme¨

    6. organize your stuff a bit, start copying parts you want to use at other times in the track. now its beginning to look like something.

    7. build good FX for break's

    8. Complete the whole track so its done (yeah easier done than said :) )

    9. Automation time! Automate knobs & faders on synths and make em scream

    10. Listen carefully, many times to your track to be 100% sure its complete & ready mastering. (and mixning if you dont do this yourself)

Its not 100% the wauy i work, but pretty similar :)

  6. well, i suppose i have to be the bad guy then. Its really not my style. Its pretty much to weird/false-playing for me.

Anyhow, i like many of your elements :) Though i think you should shorten your bass-notes a bit. I think the notes flows together instead of pumping real hard :)

but its not my style, so i'm not the one to judge how it should sound :)

  7. I know you said price isn't important, but I would really advice you to ignore the advices to spend insane amouts of money on absolute high end mixers. I myself own a Behringer DX 626 mixer which you can buy for a bargain price of 650 DKr at Aage.dk. It has all the features you will need, and for practicing at home it would be total overkill to buy a mixer for 10-15 times that price - the sound quality on Behringer of course isn't high end, and it probably won't last for 5-10 years, but for practicing it has everything you need. There's GREAT value for the money.

Concerning CD-players I must say that I consider the CDJ100 terribly overrated, but sadly it has become the standard on our scene. CDJ800 and CDJ1000 are great players, but ironically they are almost too good for practicing at home - you will get used to the many features and high pitch-precision, and that could cause you some problems when you get out to play at gigs with worse equipment.

    Hey!

I wrote that price didnt matter because i also wanted to check out what "bigger" systems people would suggest me :) I dont think i'll spend more than 10-15.000dkr on the gear. Regarding to the cd-players; yes i can see what u mean. All those cool features is gonna cause trouble later on in "live" mode :o

Actually before i started this topic i was thinking about buying 2 x Numark Axis 9 or a dual player (Tascam CD-X1700 maybe) and a cheap mixer :)

But i'll need to go and check the different stuff out before i decide what i want :)

  8. I use 2xCDJ800 + Numark DXM06

Personally I like this mixer the best for its price.

It sounds amazing at 24bit, nice effects, kills Berhengbla and Stantons

But you may want more than 2 channels for producing.

The 600 is the standard for clubs... but Allen+Heath are better...

Depends what your goals are... if u plan to play out alot, learning the 600 is important.

If you want personal mixer for pro mixing/producing, get the Xone:64

The CDJ 1000 are really good, you can do more tricks than the 800, with hot cues.  If your money is overflowing (iwish) then get these.  The 800 do have reallllll nice loop buttons tho, and quick return... and half the price!

My advice: only get pioneer CD decks.  Everything else sucks.

Hey Sundrop, i think it will be the numark´06 mixer :)

I not 100% sure bout the decks yet, but its first in march 06' that i get big cash to shop for :)

This DJ gear is not to be messed up with my producing gear. its only 4 fun :)

For producing im buying a tascam dm24 mixer with a firewire card, so it works as a 24 i/o soundcard :D

DJ'ing is my little hobby. Producing music is my lifestyle :)
