    Can sampling get you in copyright infringement?

    yes, of course. some companies even specialise is finding newly produced content that contains snippets of sampled audio. of course it depends on who owns the copyright and if they care about getting sampled or not, but in general you would have to clear every single sample you're going to use if you want to avoid the possibility of legal troubles. that's why i try to avoid samples in general and when i deviate from that i make sure they are CC0 (or so obscure/not associated with any company that no one could possibly find out i used them).

    VA - Sqeech (Faerie Dragon Records)

    Mostly a suomisaundi compilation, with some Australian artists like Odd Harmonic. It is a good introduction to that type of psytrance.

     

    VA - Schizm

    Basically, a abstract psytrance compilation with artists from Isreal, Denmark, Sweden (I think?) and others. The most notable track IMO, is from Isreal. Sattle Battle's first track Dotman. One of the only Israelis to not do regular goa trance/psytrance, it is very upbeat and sounds like a lot of the stuff from Australia/Finland.

     

    I'll be posting more whenever I can remember some of the compilaitons.

    Typical Psynews, pick a subgenre which is not goa and shit on it.

     

    The only unifying criterion of prog is that it is less intense and usually slower than other psy, besides that prog is very diverse, it may or may not be minimal, may or may not be melodic, may or may not be trippy, may or may not be cheesy, may or may not be made by a random clueless dude who has just installed Fruity Loops and torrented the latest preset pack. Lots of prog i think is really good, like Relativ/Sideform, Vibrasphere/Robert Elster, Andromeda, Suntree, Freq, some Lyctum, Static Movement, Motion Drive, Ticon, NOK, Ellinio and Orisma, etc, too many to name.

     

    Well, as regards the current state of prog, the ultimate truth is this

    Old minimal/early progressive is much better than what is often called "Psy-progressive".

    The great American lifestyle, huh? BULLSHIT!

    My best friend went to L.A. to attend a make-up school and she returned with the worst possible opinion about your great US of A.

    She couldnt walk the street without a bunch of retards following her, shouting at her and litteraly surrounding her. EVERY SINGLE DAY when she would go to school that would happen. You have private beaches and hills where u cant set a foot upon. Every vital human need is OVERPRICED. Oh you have an inflamed wisdom tooth? Yeah that'll be 3k $. If you are poor there, you might aswell end your suffering cause you've got no right to live.

    Their teacher himself told her that she couldnt work in the lab 'cause she is a female. And much more... L.A. is a pisshole to say the least and I know that L.A. isnt the whole US, but still.

     

    Nothing personal man, but most of your country's population is nothing but gun-toting hip gangster wannabes, oversexualized and perverted rasists and chauvinists. Your country is in a very bad fucking trip man

     

    You can hope for a better future for your country, but considering who you people are voting for, you guys ain't going nowhere and will probably pull down the whole world with you.

     

    USA represents everything I don't for myself to become and I'd rather slit my wrists than move there. Oh and even if I did end up there, I'd probably get shot by one of your honest-working policeman for looking suspicious

    Without a little more editing, it's hard to tell what you're going for. Are you trying to make glitch/IDM?

     

    Anyway, the pulsing beats on the second track are nice, but try to make more different patterns with them instead of just adding effects.

    Alright. I was trying to do IDM, but those sudden stops were intentional. I really didn't get them how I wanted though.
