  1. Edition of 500 and 35 remaining! :o really?

Don't worry, Zion604 was always doing it like that - don't know why. Also, recently they hired Arabesque to distribute their CDs, so it will be available in Psyshop.com, etc. (http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/zio/zio1cd012.html)

Still, I love Bandcamp and imagine labels are getting bigger profit share (compard to Psyshop, etc), so I purchased my copy there :-)

  2. Yes, as MJ would sing, you're not alone. That doesn't affect physical playback though. Ripping problem is another known story, but alas why people keep ripping physical CDs when they have the legit lossless download when buying from label itself?

You know that's a bullshit justification, right? I for example got my CDs from Dat a week before d/l were available and had issues ripping them as well (scratches). Not to mention the documented earlier issues with 3rd disc (distortion, wrong speed, etc.). Draeke is forever one of the greatest contributors to the scene, but recent releases clearly point to need of better quality control...

Damn, I left the forum to avoid those kinds of discussions and yet I'm here doing it again... :-(

  3. Sounds like "what scientific principle explains the mind-bending motion of this quipping wheel of wonder?" I only have doubts about this "quipping" - I found that it could mean a "an odd or fantastic action or thing" which would work in the context, but I'm not a native speaker so not really sure.

And then it goes "it operates on the same principle that keeps Earth spinning around the Sun and that keeps you from flying off the Earth into the cold reaches of space"

    Wonder where it's from?

  4. ...This album is not as brilliant as Dreamtime...

Hmm, funny how taste works! I personally found Dreamtime very good albeit a bit ...boring, because I couldn't find anything that stood out. For me it was a collection of correct, faultless tracks yet without any striking, differentiating features. This one is - IMO, of course - a step further, with more pronounced elements and more identity to individual tracks, whereas when I think of Dreamtime I see a homogeneous, uniform 'pulp'. Mind you, a very high quality one, but a 'pulp' nonetheless :)

One thing that struck me is how great this album works while driving - because mastering is quieter than other contemporary full-on releases, it can be cranked up higher which puts that lovely, thumping bass/mid lines in the forefront. I already drifted away (in my head) few times while on the road, which can be dangerous but oh so worth it!!!

Regardless, I'm already looking forward to his next album
