Artha - Influencing Dreams -- Not sure if this counts as "goa" but its awesome.
Ofc it's goa trance and yes it's awesome.
Ok, you asked for it, now you'll probably get dozens of recommendations. I'd say:
Artha - Influencing Dreams
Crossing Mind - The Inner Shift
Proxeeus - At The Mountains Of Madness
Alienapia - Goapocalipsis
Some great tracks on compilations here and there as well. There are not so many labels anyway...

I meant to quote this: Next goa track is Goasia's skylander, which sounds so oldschool, it's too oldschool for me. Don't know if the track is from the 90's or recent, but the lack of a solid bassline makes me skip it.
There was no Goasia in the 90's.
Best tracks for me are Zopmanika and Arronax. A few more tracks are ok, but on the whole a forgettable compilation. Most tracks lack inspiration imo.
Anyway, thanks for the effort and the free release, as always.

The pleasure is all mine.
I'll have an in-depth listen in the car tomorrow.

I don't remember we spitted on streets and left trashes everywhere
I've been in China for a few months now, and damn, they like spitting on the street. But it's the opposite, young people usually have better manners. It's the older ones (I'd say 40+) that have bad manners - spitting, littering, not queuing up, honking, smoking while walking etc. Even women (40+) spit on the street (creating that disgusting sound deep from their throat ). Really annoying.

Nice review. This is very good.

the topic explicitly stated that it's only about oldschool.
besides, the choices (wonderboy, omegahertz) would be too obvious.
I like Omegahertz. I haven't listened to much of his earlier work, but I like most of his recent albums.
-
Glad you like it, thanks for the review!
What I like is that he has his signature sound. I find some of the acid-driven melodies really nice, putting a smile on my face and making me want to dance.

Alright, now Mozart is cheesy, up there with Israeli nitzhonot and Greek uplifting
No comment for the album, as I haven't listened to it yet.

I love that album also reviewers(on Psynews) seem to agree that it's nice.
Well, the reviews are mixed, there are some negative comments as well. It also has a poor rating on discogs, so I thought I should mention it (Someone has mentioned that he relies on discogs rating to choose which albums to listen).

Also: Miranda - Northern Lights is not bad at all

Also the tracks under the Einstein alias are pretty bad. Why did they release his tracks? Seriously.

Omegahertz - Deca
Omegahertz - Gamma Sirius
Not badly reviewed, just albums that are being ignored. Melodic stuff.

Also: VA - The World Beyond

Yep, for me also 'Let There Be Light' is the best I've listened from them.
-
VA - Tribal Encore
Filteria - Sky Input
Khetzal - Corolle
Artifact303 - Back To Space
Pigs In Space - Pigs In Space
Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation (I like the downtempo CD though)
VA - The World Beyond
And generally I don't really enjoy most of Pleiadians and Astral Projection tracks.

I see your point HappyHorse. I didn't say there is a global movement, or that this is a 2nd golden age for goa trance. I am just saying what you admit: there is more music output and more goa acts play in festivals (even if these are just label parties or they co-host the line up).
It might have not completely disappeared, but for a few years there were almost zero official releases and no goa was played at events, so the only way to listen to new music was through p2p sites (right?). Now the music is much more accessible through label releases and Ektoplazm (you know that thousands of people d/l music there), and events (Connection festival and Balkan goa fanatics were 100% goa festivals if I'm not mistaken).
So, yeah, I don't think the situation is the same as it was 12-13 years ago, and I see this style of music being revived.
-
Goa trance is more alive than ever post-2000. That's obvious. More releases, more artists, more parties/events playing goa, more people listening to the music. Not a golden age of course, but resurgence, yes. Maybe HappyHorse lives in a parallel universe or something.

Well, some days ago I asked Alex Lytvyn aka Uth if he has made more goa tracks because I really really like his on VA/Blacklight Moments. He said that for him it's very difficult to complete a goa track.
I find his track unique and I feel that he had the inspiration to create it. Of course, those who make a lot of goa inevitably start using similar sounds and sometimes might finish off tracks quite fast, not necessarily waiting for the "inspiration" to come. I remember having read somewhere on this site that Filteria finished one of his tracks for Sky Input in 3 hours or so.
In order to create minimal or house, of course you need the skills, but I guess inspiration is not necessary, as tracks are not really unique, they don't have their own track identity.
So, I'd say that it's more difficult to make a track with identity, that sticks out of the mass. And I guess deep house or minimal by their nature don't leave much space for this. Anyway, I'm not very knowledgeable about these genres, so I might be wrong after all, that's just my conception.

ha ha..
One brit is indeed selling it at 170-190 Pounds he he. Anyways, there this dude I know who is willing to sell his sealed copy for 120. I'm not sure what to do. 120 is too much for me.
It's too much for any reasonable person.

But I generally prefer fullon to goa.
o.O There you go, he said it. Heretic!!!

I know what you mean. It took some time to fully integrate myself with the layers, and I still have a hard time defining these songs. The most rewarding part of this release is the atmosphere. It is the perfect combination between earth and outer space in an ancient astronomical type of way, syncing the past and present. Layers float in and out of the mix making it pure floating trance and no, there are no hooks or lead synths that stick with you. It is a nice challenging release and draws closest comparison to Ra's 9th. With that said, I refuse to draw any conclusions about Arcana. I could love this or I could never listen to it again.
Well said, I agree. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I find it boring. Ormion's points also make perfect sense to me.
E-mantra's style is unique. Music that is unique usually has a greater musical value than the typical sound of its genre and stands the test of time.
This album might not give you instant gratification but I think it is as good as it was in 2009 and will be the same in 10 or 20 years from now.
My favourite is Praying Forest.

Yes, I was going to mention Celestial Intelligence but I guess you might have checked their album already.
I like this one too, very melodic: https://www.discogs.com/Omegahertz-Deca/master/615476

The opening track is pretty good and the Radical Distortion tracks are very good indeed. They would be even better without the extended samples imo. I usually don't mind when the samples are short and don't disrupt the flow, but long samples usually ruin the tracks for me. Nevertheless, Ancient Aliens is by far my favourite. I also enjoyed Agneton's track, although I'm not a fan of this style of music.
I don't see what you guys like in Liquid Flow's track, for me it's just a filler (along with Asmik). His album "Presence" was very good but I haven't been impressed with any of his compilation tracks that I've heard.

I I went to ask Ofer Dikovsky about and he'd say it's the 1st Tandu track they made! It didn't even have a name before but Ofer thought about it and decided "Let's call it Inception". (Maybe he likes the movie?)
It's probably because it was the 1st Tandu track, as you said. Inception => the beginning of something.
Prana - Cyclone
in 1996
Posted
I listened to the Prana albums recently and I also prefer this over Geomantik, where the remixed tracks are not as good as the original ones imo (apart from the GNOTR rmx).
I agree, all tracks are good here, very good/creative/unique album. Most of the tracks had been previously released in 1994/1995, so this album sounds older than its contemporaries I guess.
Anyway, good music is good music. Today it's all about production, crystal clear sound, overcompression, "suitable for the dance floor at the festival" and so on. F*ck that, I want good music above all!
