Good afternoon :-) After seeing the tragic effects of the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean, Organic Records have decided to put together a CD single with music donated from some top psytrance artists, with all profits going towards the the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) (see ww.donate.bt.com/bt_form_dec.htm). The single will be distributed by Arabesque Distribution who will be doing so commission free, and who will be encouraging parties further down the sales chain to do the same. We're pleased to say that we've had many offers from people across the psytrance scene to help, and are now looking for further trance media and websites to assist with advertising and banner display to promote the single. The project is being put together quickly at the moment, we hope to have a release date of about a month from now confirmed early next week. Following our latest mix from ColinOOOD, as promised we have now finished and added the Voice Of Cod webpage to Triskeles artist section!! You heard some of the VOC tracks in the mix, and now we have more tracks, pictures, and a bio online for you to check out! VOICE OF COD are Colin Bennun (OOOD, Unconscious Collective) and Andrew Humphries (Mr. Biscuit, Organic A&R/DJ) who started making music together after meeting at a party in London. With upwards of 15 years in the scene between the both of them, they are still WOWing audiences with music that can only be described as dance floor shredding psytrance, with a bouncy feel and an uplifting vibe. Each of their releases to date have been praised by punters and DJs alike, including the massive 'We Are Free' on Organic's 'Psytelligence', 'The Art of Funk Shui' on Transient's 'UK Trance' compilation and the powerfully uplifting 'Just a Ride' on Organic's 'New Generations' ‘Just a Ride’ has proved a huge hit in Belgium and has been licensed on the annual mix compilation for their biggest club, La Rocca. We just wanted to share with you a stunning new mix put together by ColinOOOD consisting solely of his projects: OOOD/Unconscious Collective/Voice of Cod. Colin is a brilliant DJ, and is known for spinning only his own music. He and all of the projects are accepting bookings for the winter/spring season. We have ...... OOOD/UC : the live setup is 4 people - Colin and Steve from OOOD, and collaborators Ramsay Melhuish (Rama) and Ryo Potier. They perform with live keyboards (not just arpeggiators!), live percussion (electronic and acoustic) and extra live samples over the top of the tracks, and their next project is to integrate live guitar into the set. As you can imagine, with 4 people on stage and so much live performance going on, they give QUITE a show! As well we have another and newer collaboration between Colin and Andrew Humphries (Organic Records) called: VOICE OF COD. ORGANIK aka Chris Organic We are more than pleased to announce an addition to our growing Triskele family. Chris has been on a slight hiatus after the birth of his son in 2003, but now Chris is back in the scene, making some kick-arse psytrance tracks again and going for it full-on with the releases: Planned for 2005 are numerous artist albums and compilations, including Chris’s 2nd solo album, a new series of Mix CDs called Digital Wizards (Chris will have the first mix in the series), and of course plenty of remixes and collaborations. He now has a solid live set as well as rocking the show with his awesome DJ sets… always interesting, groovy, and ultimately uplifting. His studio activities have been on the increase too, since working on the side in TV he picked up some pretty sneaky production tips which he has applied to his psy-trance productions... hence the even fatter, deeper sound he's recently developed and the dazzling live sets he's been storming over the past year. His reputation stands before him: almost 10 years touring and not a single complaint yet! We are currently taking bookings for the winter/spring season. Chris graduated in Music Information Technology with Honours in ‘94 and then went on to train at one of the UK’s top sound engineering schools, the Islington Music Workshop. So impressed with his recording and sequencing skills, IMW took Chris on as a tutor for their sequencing course and assistant engineer for their band recording projects. Around this time Chris was also running a mix-tape shop in Camden, selling tapes of trance music he’d mixed himself from vinyl. From those tapes, and going under the name ‘Organic’ Chris started DJing at underground trance parties in the UK, then around Europe, and very quickly he went on to become a well-respected figure in the global trance scene, DJing and playing live all over the world, in every continent and to huge crowds- often as big as 10,000 to 30,000 people. Chris was producing music in his own home studio, as well as working on collaborations with international artists wherever he could. This led to some hit records in the psytrance scene, including his own solo album in 2002 “Don’t Panic”. And so Chris’s recording skills were starting to be in big demand. Compiling CDs for other labels, remixing, teaching, and of course setting up his own label Organic Records, Chris had his hands full for a solid 8 years until the birth of his son in 2003, at which point he decided to cut down and stay home for a bit. Since then Chris has been more involved in his record label. His moniker of names leads to a wide variety of production styles: Organik - his harder, night psychedelic, Chris Organic - his lighter morning style, and Benefactor - his latest collaboration with Colin Bennun from OOOD/UC/Voice of Cod. He has also broadened his musical influence by starting a company that makes music for computer games and TV ads and runs a cutting edge 32-bit digital studio, masters CDs to professional Red Book standard, remixes bands, produces up-and-coming talent, and works on TV shows such as Pop Idols, and X-Factor.
