  1. Right, that could be useful! Maybe even combined with the beat detection feature... I think I should be able to handle that. I haven't seen it anywhere either.

The ability to slow down and speedup is sort of already done. I don't have the best timestretch algorhithm there is, but it mangles the sound wonderfully, when stretching a lot ;)

I code in C++, and try to keep it as platform independent as possible. So far I only use some Apple-specific code for the timestretching, and some native types, that can be easily replaced.

Nice nice.. Looking forward for the alpha release. If you need debugging or bug reports that is. :)
  2. I'm not sure I've seen this feature before, but it might prove useful:

Select multiple parts of the clip (say from timeline 0:20 to 0:45 and from 2:30 to 2:50) and put them in a loop. So the wave editor starts playing at 0:20, and when it reaches 0:45 it continues to 2:30. When it reaches 2:50 it goes back to 0:20. I've no idea, maybe this has been allread implemented in some commercial software allready (wavelab..? Theres no such option in Sound forge as far as I know).

Ability to slowdown or speedup the playback in realtime?

Out of curiousity what are u using to develope the software? Delphi, C++? Good luck btw. :)

  3. orders will be available in all means, bank transerfs & paypal from me and from online shops :)

    2 - Definition of 'coping':

    cope 1 (kp)

    intr.v. coped, cop·ing, copes

    1. To contend or strive, especially on even terms or with success: coping with child rearing and a full-time job.

    2. To contend with difficulties and act to overcome them: "Facing unprecedented problems, the Federal Reserve of the early 1930s couldn't cope" Robert J. Samuelson.

I think he meant it in a good way, because the album may be overwhelming (as in so good that you can't imagine).

  4. A crazy genius I call him. My brain is literally frozen trying to figure out the words to describe him. He's just one of those rare talents that pops out and gets embraced by the whole planet. :)

  5. The album you are looking for, which I have recommended many times, is the grand synthesizer masterpiece, the holy grail of anything that is both ambient, spacy & psychedelic, created in 1981: Michael Stearns - Planetary Unfolding.

It doesn't matter that it is old. Once you have listened to it a few times with headphones and eyes closed, you will look with a different perspective at a lot of (modern) electronic music that you thought was good.

Actually I do love old music & I don't have that much of a perspective for music released in the past decade.. it's not that groundbreaking with a good replay value as the older stuff. My personal view on things.

    Thanx for the recommendation. :)

  6. and you will hear more about our music in very short time, that I can promise....... :posford: there are lots of potential going on here now.......

Yes, they will hear more that's for sure. :)
  7. I'm a sucker for good pads. :D

I'm looking for something that may or may not have a beat to it, since I'm fine with both cases (altho beatless can be less interesting if the artist isn't creative enough). Ambient music with alot of revolving pads but not just plain sustained pads, rather unique pads that change over time.. Maybe that's asking too much, but I guess what I'm looking for are artists that are really creative with their pads, or that at least use alot of them while they seemlessly melt with each other.

Non-commercial music is welcome, but typically I've found that it's not as much creative when it comes to pads. Just pastin a bunch of different pads with each other doesn't ensure the music will be interesting to listen to, so I need something that will not neccesarily bore me out at the first listen (like the average drone stuff thats out there).

There are pads in psybient/electronic music aswell, but they're typically set in the intro's and very short. A recent example is VA Future Memmories - Track 7: Snakestyle - Neutral Buoyancy - it has a really sweet pad in the beginning. A good example would be Carbon Based Lifeforms - Gryning which has the most awesome pads I've heard in a while - it has a nice beat to it aswell.

  8. This is really the first time I've heard of him. It definately had some promise.. but what a shame, drug-overdose.

I'm not really aware of the local goa scene, any others worth mentioning Rino?

  9. There's alot of talent out there so I thought we could all share our favourite unsigned artists, their myspace/soundclick/etc sites. Doesn't have to be strictly psy of course.

Here's some of the top of my head (click for webby):

    Siebzehn

    Symphonic Chronicles

    Antares

    Aavepyora

    Astrotek (ambient, breakbeat)

I had a huge list of links to unsigned artists, but I lost it somewhere.. And in the list I have now half the artists are not unsigned anymore hehe.

  10. They use a mac now. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Let's not judge them just yet. I'm gonna wait for the album to come out and after a couple of hundred listens I'll cast my final verdict on this one.

I am happy to hear not only a full on bassline in their tracks... And with my "normal" trance roots I can only say stuff like "Burning Up" I liked alot, so I don't mind a little more "normal" trance made by them... It made me curious for their Open Society album :)

Same here, avid trance fan so this might be a treat! :)
  11. No, I didn't like it at all. I think what I dislike in everything after TiT3 is the change of their sound when it comes to melodies. They use some kind of different synth I think and I don't like it. I also think their melodies are far less solid than their earlier ones. They are not all bad, but not really good either.

And I'm now listening to Tryptomine Dream and I have to say it's not bad at all. I will try in the future to give them more listens. But I doubt I'll like them more than their earlier work.

My personal observation is that with Another World they went more trancey with their production. Since I was an avid trance fan the album really hit me hard. But it's all down to tastes anyway. :)
  12. and IMO Liquid Sun is a masterpiece.

    +1 :)

Btw u didn't like Another World - the album?

Anywho, I think the biggest reason I love these guys so much is that their music has so much replay value. And it has inspired so many new talents that are rising up these days. Not to sound too corny, but their music belongs in a special place in my heart. :)

  13. Suntrip indeet has some very cheesy tracks, all the Filteria tracks are just uber cheesy and I can´t listen to them for mroe than two minutes without turning the volume down a lot because there´s so much stuff going on and the melodies are played on God knows how many supersaw synths which jsut sounds exaggerated. Khetzal is also very cheesy and indeet Astral Projection isn´t that cheesy, but "People can fly" for example is one of the few as cheesy tracks as Filteria or the cheesiest Khetzal, sorry but that´s what I think.

Well sure I do favour some tracks more then others, but I'd have to list almost their whole discography just by making a top favourite track list hehe. I even like their old SFX stuff. I hope they deliver with their next album, but times have changed..
  14. Well on vinyl you can see the tracks, so that would have been something of a giveaway.

Was just about to say that. Altho.. if they're clever enough they could of just recorded silent noise instead of silence untill the next track starts. That would maybe make it seem like theres a track there.
  15. Did you try again several times? Had a little problem and tried twice and it worked.

    Trying..
