  1. How come there's no topic about this here? It was announced over three weeks ago at their (or should I say his because I understand it's Marcus alone again) MySpace page.

I'm actually starting to like the three preview tracks that've been on the page for some time now. I really hope he's taken his time (and he certainly shoud've had enough time ) to polish it and make a worthy sequel to the two classics.

  2. A solid release of melodic newschool goa with a distinct Goasia touch. The style is a bit on the smoother side of goa (definitely not as in your face as Filteria or even Dimension 5's Transdimensional, for example), but still driving - as it should be. The tracks are satisfactorily varied. Very tasty (analog?) basses in Taboo and Per Aspera ad Astra. Sunrise's melodies remind me of oldschool trance (not goa). No complaints about the technical side of things as far as I can tell on my headphones; the sound is fat and balanced.

On the minus side the intro track was unnecessary padding (it's not like Love & Peace started fullon) and I don't care much for the final downbeat track either. The vocal sample in From Other Spaces was a cheesy cliché.

Favourites: Love & Peace, Octagon and Per Aspera ad Astra

    8/10

  3. Only thing I own from them is the second Carbon Based Lifeforms album, which is pretty solid. That said I almost never listen to it at home, although it is in case of chilled cds I play while I'm teaching my English classes, so its an album I know pretty well subconsiously, even though I can't really recall it off the top of my head.

You play ambient during classes? That's cool.

I've only heard one cd from ultimae, and it's asura's Life squared which I didn't really like. Maybe I should check out the other releases, seeing lots of people here admire ultimae that much. So what would be a fine release from ultimae you'd recommend me?

Aes Dana - Aftermath and Memory Shell. I have heard some other Ultimae stuff (Asura, some Fahrenheit comps) and they didn't sound that good but Aftermath and Memory Shell are excellent, sublime atmospheres. Aftermath however is nigh impossible to find on CD but ambient.us is selling a digital version.

And it's not a fansite! :posford:

There's a new tune there, mixture of ambient and acoustic instruments. Signature Frogacult deepness. Fantastic track, IMO. I really hope they start making music again. BTW, they haven't been making electro.

  5. Funnily enough I too ended up there a couple of days ago.

ZOMG, now I get it: D5 posts an old track on YouTube with talk about a new album; Flying Rhino is coming back: 1+1 = 4! The new D5 album will be released on FR and it will be only one of the many glorious comeback albums heralding the rebirth of goa and psy! Astral Projection will ditch the cheesy fullon album they've been working and release a double album of pure goa! Infected Mushroom will publicly acknowledge losing the psy spirit and release Classical Mushroom 2!

    :drama: :drama: :drama:

  6. Funny retro sound. Perhaps more acid trance/techno than goa. Proto-goa?

    Says the video description:

"From the archives of Yesterville here's East Dorset's finest Psychedelic / Goa / Trance act "Dimension 5" with "This Time Around". Coming soon! New Album! Gigs!"

Faker? One of the D5 members?

  7. Everybody has already said that dance in whichever way you like, so I don't have to repeat that (well ooops, I kind of did).

I like to watch goa/psy people dancing for all the expressive, liberated moves. :posford:

The funniest dancing I ever saw was at a techno/house party like 8-9 years ago. The guy looked like he was collapsing time after time and I mean vertically, not falling over to side like a cut tree. It's hard to describe, but it looked so funny. I actually had a chat with him at some point that night.

  8. Impossible to name one track because they've made so many excellent ones, like:

    Panic In Paradise

    Electromagnetic

    Psychomachine

    Fall Out (Dong Edit)

    Thorazin

    Universal Chaos

And of course of their sideprojects The Delta has many fantastic tracks, the best of which undoubtedly is Standby. Simply a perfect piece of tech trance.
