1. @redeemer

    I like your spirit.

But I do really think it's low to sell ripped music or cracked software and cannot understand your opinion.

And I don't care what russian law says about it.

    216308

Well, I fully understand that my views might not be very popular on a site that is full of artists. However, the way I see it is that published information is free game. If someone manages to make money out of it, then good for him, but I think it will get more and more difficult in the digital age.

What right does someone have to sell a dictionary... Did he create the language, does he own a right to the words. No, he just gathered the information in one place and makes money out of it.

  2. I don't really disagree with your very controverisal opinion, and is not very bothered with the money side of the music myself I must admit.

But how hard is it really to download whatever music you like to get in mp3.

Well, considering the success of iTunes, it's hard enough that many will not bother. Also in many countries sharing which is often required to download is illegal and may get you in trouble.

I do get upset when anyone is actually is making money on other peoples work.

Sites like allofmp3 should not be supported because they make money on something that is not theirs to make money on.

I understand your point of view, but don't fully agree. According to the laws of their country, it is theirs to make money on.

So by all means support downloading and fuck the "industry". But sites selling mp3 or warez is scum in my opinion.

Warez sellers won't use my money to sue me. If I have to choose one I choose the one that is less damaging to the public rights.

  3. But what is really the point of paying for downloads that you can get for free if no money goes to the artists?

    216294

Well pesonally I boycott the music and movie industry so a service that let's me buy cheap without any of that going to the hands of the industry is just a plus.

But you're right, there may be no point if you can get it free (as I do), but you need some connections to get free stuff and there's a lot of average people who would pay a little for easy access.

What is the point of paying anyway if 99% of it goes to some mega corporation label and 1% to the artist. If that. Especially since the representative groups of the labels and movie industry like the RIAA/MPAA will use your money to lobby the goverment in attempt to steal away the little rights you may have left.

  4. Yes I believe that the Russian law is such that you don't need a permission from the labels as long as you pay some fee to some Russian organisation, or something. I don't see how else it could be possible. Anyway, I think the price is much more reasonable than in the western competitors. Allofmp3 should advertise themselves a bit more. There really is no reason to pay insane sums to iTunes when you can get it much cheaper and with no DRM.

  5. Err...you think that is a legal site redeemer.

The price and the russian language make me suspect that it's not at all.

Anyway $2 for 100Mb is totally unrealistsic that you will be able to sell trance for and have any labels sign up with you.

Yes it is fully legal. I would imagine that you don't need the labels' permission to sell in Russia.

  6. What is the magic of this song...? Today I was very tired after all my exams and stuff, I was playing this song very loud while almost falling asleep, and I was in a complete dreamstate because of those voices singing and the floating atmosphere... Altough the song still has a very harsh techno-rhytm...

is it just me or do other people love this one also?

And does anyone know any more songs in this style?

    215676

Yes it's the best on the album. Absolutely brilliant. Hypnotic stuff. :) I think I need to listen to it now...

  7. a very tough guy i know and respect does 3-4 hours of workout everyday

to full on psytrance with dumb-bells in his hands.

Workout is only a stimulus for the muscles, they only grow in rest. I usually have at least a day of rest between going to gym. :)

  8. Sweden there is NO place where you cant get internet, thats a fact. in 90% of Sweden you can get 8mbit broadband. In 70% you can get atleast 10Mbit, and 50% you can have 100Mbit directly to your livingroom.

The thing is, I didnt say that you find more Psytrancers in Sweden than in Germany, I said you probably find more psytrancers on the NET from Sweden than from Germany.

For me, Germany is still a 3rd world country when it comes to Internet. They take rediculous prices and its still very slow over there.

Netherlands is really rising for good connections, but still I pay for my 8 mbit here,  what I would pay for 100mbit in Sweden (in some parts).

Anyways, I think this is is going a bit off topic hehe. I dont want to state that Sweden owns or anything. Im actually a bit scared over what is happening to Sweden and its citizens at the moment. Its insejn (hehehehe) how many are hooked to the internet over there.

Just as a sidenote. NONE of my friends have a lower internet connection than 8 mbit. None of them will ever consider moving somewhere where you cant get atleast 8Mbit. Now, thats REALLY sad, isnt it? :)

I've been on a cheap 100Mbps for about past ten years, trying to impress me with that is futile. :)

"I didnt say that you find more Psytrancers in Sweden than in Germany, I said you probably find more psytrancers on the NET from Sweden than from Germany."

And I said that's weird because there's 30,000,000 Germans in the NET against 4,000,000 Swes. :)

  9. My friend Sweden and Denmark are the leading countries in internet use in the world, not even USA beats us to it. You see, we are not by far as many people in Sweden or Denmark then in the rest of the country, but percentually, we HAVE more users using the internet.

If you read the IT news and IT Facts, you will find that Sweden and Denmark are the leading countries in IT as well. Its also a fact, that we have more people hooked on the internet than in any other countries than in the world. This has nothing to do with Weather, it has to do with that Sweden and Denmark have invested a LOT of time in a good IT Infrastructure.

That's all nice and dandy, I'm just surprised that you can find more "psytrancers" out of 4 million Swedes than 30 million Germans that's all. Especially concidering that psytrance audience is most likely younger people where the differences in internet usage are probably a lot smaller than when comparing entire populations.

On a side note, Sweden I can understand but what's that about Denmark, they're barely in the top-ten: http://www.internetworldstats.com/top25.htm ;)

Also I think there's a point where the percentage gets high enough that it starts becoming meaningless. It's the point where anyone could get a connection if they want to. I mean, take my country Finland e.g. We are barely on the above list [edit: our data is two years older though, it seems], yet I can't think there's a spot in this country where you can't get connected. So I believe it's more of a cultural thing and that senior citizen are more reluctant to learn new technologies.

  10. I really like the rich sound and the style of this album. However it seems that both the album itself as the individual tracks kind of lose focus towards the end. They usually begin interesting, but after a break when you would expect them to build up to the end, nothing really happens and it just goes on for a while and then ends. Also tracks 1-5 are pretty interesting, but the rest a bit less. All in all, one of the better releases lately and a lot of good ideas. With more melodic layers and build ups towards the end could have been superb.

  11. roight

    call me a nitwit

but why is 'goa' supposed to be fluffy morning and happy?

    Who said it's supposed to?

cuz every album posted so far in this thread is this kind of music.........

That doesn't mean that people think goa should be this or that, it means that modern music that most people view as goa is like that.

i don't see what that music has in common with groups like lunar asylum, BOTFB,phreaky, cydonia, deviant electronics, synchro, quirk, xenomorph, hux flux, you name it............and as far as i know that's called 'goa' as well........

Sure, but what modern psy is like old BOTFB or Deviant Electronics? None. That's why there are none in the lists...

  12. Agree with you about music done like it was just a bad joke. Too much noise and idiotic samples going on in most of Finnish psy. The names are often stupid but sometimes funny, like "Pilluminati Cunt Roll". That was hilarious!

Those Swedish track (and artist) names are really funny IMO, better than most of the Finnish. Tripple Nipple, lol...

Yeah but Sweden also has tons and tons of extremely good artists making quality music. Couple of jokes here and there is ok, but sometimes it feels like Finns are embarassed to create music and try to hide it with this "it's just a joke" attitude.

  13. Well, that trackname problem... it's not as bad as certain Swedish artists... (hux flux! - postpone the phone, tripple nipple etc). A scandinavian problem?

    211800

Yes but it's twice as bad to read it in your own language. :D

About Scandinavia, I suppose geographically only Norway and Sweden are on the Scandinavian peninsula, Denmark is included for historical and political reasons. It would be easier to just call all Nordic countries Scandinavia though. :)

  14. Because he might be from Madrid or north of Madrid? It was -7 Degrees when I left Madrid a week ago hehehe :)

Well, it will pass in two months, unlike up here, where the summer is two months, if that. :)

I honestly think its because we have so many people in Sweden that use the internet, and that are hooked to it. I think we are internetomaniacs up there. The weather is no excuse, because I dont see less posts from Swedes in the summer season ;) hahahaha :)

Well, but serisouly, there is waaaaaaaay more internet users in UK, Germany, France etc, so that is hardly a real reason. And you don't actually need a very fast connection to read forums, you could do that with a modem! ;)

    Germany 30,073,931

    UK 22,505,058

    Italy 16,622,066

    France 15,197,078

    Spain 8,498,602

    Sweden 4,646,457

  15. It is because we love forums! I think. I always see a lot of Scandinavian people on all sorts of Forums.... MIGHT have to do with that almost every Swedish kid has a good internet connection :)

    211728

Ah yeah. I think it's more like if you go outside you freeze to death here, so we just sit on our PCs all day long. :D Why would a Spanish guy waste his time arguing about something silly on an internet forum when he could be having good time at the beach... ;)

  16. Best are Eraser vs Yojalka...

Round 1 is the best album of 2002 and one of the best ever!!! (Reunion...OMG!!!)

    Worst are Highpersonic Whomen. Boring!!!

    Agree?

    211618

Well, I'm a Finn and the usual problem I have with Finnish psy acts is the fucking!"¤"#¤#¤ idiotic track names and the overall mentality. I don't like that music is done like it was just a bad joke.

Round 1 was great, but their second was already very boring. I agree that Highpersonic is also boring.

The new Torakka album sounds very good although I've only had time to listen it a couple of times. That and Round 1 are the best Finnish stuff I've heard.

  17. I read the reasons, and I realize it can't be changed. You're wrong about there being only two countries in NA, however. Mexico has a rapidly growing psy scene. That makes three countries, two of which would most likely not prefer to be lumped in with the states.

Well, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America , The term North America may refer only to US and Canada in common usage. Anyway, two, three, whatever, still only a few countries that can very well be put under one option to save space. If you read the reasons, why are you still bitching about something that can't be helped? If it's that horrible, don't vote and move on. I think I'm going to refer to Canadians as North Americans from here on out. What have we next, a German saying "I'm not saying I'm part of Europe" or a South African saying "I'm not saying I'm part of Africa".
