  1. This is a truly great album. I didn't think much of it when I bought it in 2004 and almost never played it. But recently, when I was mixing at home I put it up again and WHOA, I was blown away. Very melodic, atmospheric and dark. And OK, some tracks are a bit noisy and they use guitars quite a lot (but in a good sense most of the time) but the overal sound of the tracks makes you feel like you're in the middle of a hurricane or something, i cant quite explain.

Their track donuts was one of my favorite goa tracks back in the days and I am happy to see that their style haven't changed a lot, it gives me the same blown away feeling.

One of the best 2004 releases IMO 8,5/10

  4. Basilisk, if Duran Duran Duran is your sense of humor, maybe some tracks on this are your sense of humour too... I know they're mine! ;)

Especially the extremely fucked up Shitmix2000 and Can't Touch This remix. From beautiful stuff till crazying madness.

That looks like a really good compil indeet, i know that skelechairs remix of Doormouse kicks ass!!

@ Basilisk, if you like funny breakcore you have to check out Shitmat, seriously.

Also listen to this very nice FREE compilation on Cock Rock Disco (the label of Jason Forrest). It gives a nice view on the different aspects of breakcore, hardcore and IDM with some af the leading artists in the genre.

  5. It's probably something like 90's black-metal, agression & aversion that goes down really good with kids in their puberty, just because of it's shock value. There's bound to be some good stuff in there (somewhere) but the majority needs a lot of work before I'll even call it "music".

    +1

If I want to hear those high BPM's I listen to some jungle ridden hardcore/breakcore witch I think are much more fit for this tempo.

If you apply it to psytrance everything blends together in one noisy polyphony in which you can hardly distinguish any melodies. And melodies are the reason I listen to psy.

When it comes to rhytmical madness I prefer IDM, jungle, Breakcore, whatever.

  6. Thanks guys! I know they're available, but I'm not planning buying any of them soon since I don't have the hardware to play it... I was just hoping there's a CD release that contains those unmixed tracks.

    :)

 I never noticed this album was mixed.

    I'll check my cd tonight

These are the best pair you can get for your money. They sound decent and are practically indestructable because they are flexible. And they cost only about 50€.

I work in a DJ shop and the headphones we get the most for reparation are those overpriced Pioneer HDJ1000's. They sound pretty good but they are so fragile. Also we have lots of problems with tose Stanton DJ 3000 headphones, something bad with the cable.

  8. this is my headphone system: Beyerdynamic DT880 connected to a Meier-Audio Corda Arietta headphone amplifier, which is normally fed by a cd-player, but in rare occasion also radio, computer and turntable. the black amp on the picture (Rega Ear) is sold.

    I myself use these:

AKG K141 Very nice, detailed sound and very confortable, ideal for home listening but not for DJ'ing because they are open.

Nothing compares to these for DJ'ing: Sennheiser HD 25. The loudest you can get.

I'm saving up to buy a pair soon
