  1. Wow - this is a great find indeed. Very cool. Must be at least 10 years old this piece? Or even older - it mentiones Simons first album (released in 1995) and the upcoming mix album from a "radio one DJ" must be Paul Oakenfold's 1994 goa mix... Right?

Yep! It's before 1995! And you're right about the "radio one DJ" too!

It's funny actually how in 1994 they really were allready talking about the commercialisation of goatrancemusic, and people now are still afraid of it 'will happen someday". It's 13 years later you know.

Hahahaa.... It's funny indeed! But i guess Goa has already passed it's commercial era and it's kind of forgoten from the masses again! So it's all good!

    :)

Oh and thanks for the clip Mike! It was great!

  2. People don't have to use their real names on forums!

It's very easy to keep your privacy no matter how much you hang out there.

Correct to an extend, but there were pople in the past posting under their real names!

    *EDITED*

  3. Lately I have been quite into African music: the bluesy folksy Ali Farka Toure from Mali and afrobeat King Fela Kuti from Nigeria. They don't come up much on my last.fm account because I mostly hear them on my mp3 player. I also didn't want to write up all genres I can think of since genre obsession is silly  10 choices is more than enough!

    I like African music too!

    :)

Check out Amadou & Mariam - Dimanche A Bamako! Take a look in Youtube for them! That's a great album they made and Manu Chao is participating in a couple of tracks!

  4. Yeah 'some' (in this case actually most) people don't subscribe to elite 'we' mentality and enjoy the music for what it is. I know it's considered cool here to diss tip and 1200 but I think at least 3 songs on that album are absolutely brilliant. This is the stuff that moves dance floors and not the cool/intellectual/underground/whatever bs. Give music a chance, it's there to enjoy.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest, I'm so tired of that psynews 'we' bandwagon.

I haven't heard their last album....might be a masterpiece! But to like 12000mics, you must have discovered psytrance yesterday!

Sorry i had to get it out of my chest too!

    No offence bro!

    :)

for my friend pandemonium :posford: good luck with your nu project!!!best wishes and you have our support :clapping:

In the same period that those parties were taking place, there were the sunrise parties etc that used to be always full and the biggest names of the scene were playing! In the early days there were throwing their parties in Alsos... Scando sound was the popular style there! Also the majority of Greeks didn't had their "1st touch of Goa culture" in uplifting parties! Maybe the majority of Greeks of your age did! No offence ok :) ?

Me personaly had never been to an uplifting party...never! And i'm into this music for ages! Uplifting parties used to gather younger people in general!

But you're right that uplifting had quite a crowd back in the days! I'll scan some ancient flyers of uplifting parties if you like to bring you back the memories!

    :)
