Hmmm, how come Prima Materia is being re-released? Anything changed?

Yeah, I'm kind of pissed about that. There was a point where I got so fed up with the formula shit, I stopped listening ot the releases. Somehow while looking for unreleased stuff I found azax and psycho micro trax. They were great. Really weird. But then when they started to release their tracks it was horrible. Just another formula music. Really the same as neo-full-on, just darker. Actually worse than neo-full-on stuff. Some of their tracs are just 8 minutes non-stop bassline with as much noise on top as possible, with a really cheesy, pseudo-horror name and maybe some equally stupid sample. Same goes for Kindzadza. Early tracks were definitely better Then when releases started to come he just went to the sae formula as azax and psychotic I just hope the Danish guys don't sell out the same way as they start to release more... especially Vicious Spiral...please KEEP IT WEIRD, TWISTED AND INNOVATIVE!

Honestly, this is one of the most psychedelic *albums* I have ever heard! It's not pay-trance, but it's way more psychedelic than most psy releases. Every sound is perfectly placed, this thing is wonderfully produced. All the sound have the perfect reverb, etc. I feel like I'm in another world when I listen to this. Freak51 gave a perfect review.

I'm kind of disappointed. I really liked the Pelinpala album, it was different, and I found it to be extremely psychedelic. This is just standard generic morning psy-trance, very formulaic. Actually, they have done a very good job with the formula, but still, this doesn't even touch 'My cd has landed on the next door neighbours dog'. If it was the desire of the pelinpala guys to make standard stuff, they did a great job. I would give it 10/10 if I liked that stuff. But I like stuff that's weird, so this only gets a 6/10 from me (very high for standard stuff!).

Being objective: T6, okay, but not my cup of tea. Sofa Beats (T7), very hypnotic. Starts a little darker then the rest. More reminiscnent of our own hypnotic minimal psy. Howling wolf. Becoming more positive towards the end. Our wolf friend joining us more often. I'm ready for some change, but it doesn't come. T8, many of these tracks also have big influence from Progressive non-psy trance. T9 My non-existant god, these people have not hesitated to pull influence from any Pariah which this scene may or may not have! Whether it is a good thing, or not, is totally up to you! VERY interesting. I'm listening to this for the 2nd time right now. First time I kind of skipped around, and listened on a lo quality system. Didn't really like it. Now I've smoked up, and I'm on a bit better sound system. I'm up to 'Skyline' (T4) right now. Not sure if I like it...this is definitely something different...innovative? Lots of non-psy influences. House rhythms abound. Some buried Latin influences, via house. A bit repetitive at times. Skyline is a lil’ more psychedelic, to me. Seems to have wandered kind of aimlessly. But, still, its something new. Wow! Funkboo (T5) is quite energetic! And it has plenty of psy sounds in the air! Some Son Kitian percussion. Let’s see where it goes….

I have liked all previous Insect Sun releases. I only listened to this 2-3 times on MP3. It was maybe 1 month ago. I remember liking all the fx and sounds (great production), but I thought that all the tracks went nowhere. A lot of the tracks just dragged on and on and on... And I certainly did not here any hints of goa, that for sure!

Droidsect is some French dudes. Droidlock is a guy named Dhya from South Africa. Dhya is also one half of Snug as a Bug.

PS Those two tracks I am referring to are T1 (w/Till) and T4(w/Ree-K), I think? Don't have the CD in front of me...

Blech, track 6 has rap vocals. The one track done with Ree-K and the other track done with Gus Till are okay, the rest is no good, IMHO. Very housey at times. 1/10
