1. That's a really nice experimental track.

My first thought was that this was an amateur work with bad production.

But after a second listen, I saw things differently and the "bad production" was actually what makes this so psychedelic.

I was also not expecting it to be melodic and was nicely surprised to hear those acid lines at 2min20 and that oriental melody at 3min00.

The second part was also nice but not enough variated in my opinion. I was expecting a "climax" which never cames.

    ;)

  2. Kinda basic, but I like the vibe of it.....

It's indeed "kinda basic" but oriental music is most of the time basic IMO, so you did an excellent job with tis track . You just need to make it a little bit longer, and also make it sound a little bit less synthetic if ou see what I mean (use a different reverb, use the pan for your drums and shaker, and if possible use more real instument samples).

Actually I must say that I've been trying to make such kind of music recently and I'm really impressed by your work and particulary by the melody that start at 2min10.

I hope you will continue with it and post the result here.

  3. The kink works now, and what can I say?

Nothing, words wouldn't do it justice.

The piano-saxophone has to be the best combination possible.

I would really love to hear it in better quality.

May I recommend you a track I found in the review section .

It's called xerxes-angelina and you can download it for free on this webpage. It also use a piano/saxo combo but in a different way.

I would listen to this when I fall in love, and I would listen to your track when the girl break my heart

    :D

  4. If you don't like it, it's easy enough to ignore... ;)

If you don't like my humour, you can also ignore it ;)

But about your first post, we obviously don't share the same definiton of the word legendary. Are Double Dragon - Continuum or 12 Moons - Solid State really legendary?

For exemple, I'd say "Trip to Transylvania" by X-dream and "Transmissions" by Juno Reactor are legendary, not because they are good but because they were released in 1993.

  5. Nice to see some people are willing to help. :D

The tutorial was really clear, there's no need for me to give more details so I'll just give a few advices.

I've been using reason for nearly 6 month and there are many things I have'nt used a single time : the Dr Rex loop player, the BV512, the "group/ungroup" options and the combinator. I also very rarely use the Matrix pattern sequencer. You'll soon discover that the the sequencer offers much more control than the matrix so you'd better get used to it right now. Same goes for the pattern sequencer of the redrum.

So to sum it up, don't use the rack window when you can use the sequencer window.

I've uploaded the getting startted manual on yousendit.com if you don't have it ;)

  6. Hi there, here's a little feedback.

I checked both of your track and I got a mixed feeling : I really loved the second one "Stand Up For Your Self" but i can't say I liked the other one. It souned very pro (sound quality...) and very average at the same time (lack of originality, I had the feeling that I heard it before). It was like a tech-demo if you see what I mean

The second one however is way better. Minimalistic but in a good way. From the drums to the bass, it was simply great and could easily be realesed on a compilation I think.

    ;)

p.s. soory for my bad english

  7. No.....

    406122

No? No to what? No it's not made for consumation by the end user, or no you don't have time to check this section?

The mixes are made out of tunes that have already been put through a screening process (i.e. being released by a label) while the "check out my tracks" forum is work in progress.

    406122

    Yes so what?

Furthermore, some tunes being released by labels do sound like a "work in progress" to me  (i.e. some tunes that I hear on this forum are just as good if not better that some released on labels). But sorry, this is off topic.

The first is mainly uploading for promotion and some feedback while the later is mainly uploading for feedback and some promotion.

    406122

Ok let's make things clear : what both DJ and producer want is people's attention I think.

To me, it seems like the "Check Out My Mixes !" is not only made for DJs to show their skills(i.e. promotion) but also for people who wants to discover unknown artist or tracks.

I agree that the mixes deserve more attention but so does the "Check Out My Tracks" forum. After all, its just music and you don't need to be a producer yourself to review the track posted there.

  8. Great! Excellent! I love it, but I'm not sure whether if it's for its quality or its originality.

However, I think there's still a lot of work remaining, because this track deserves some improvements.

I think you should lower the volume of some of the "background sounds", add some effect to the snare or just change the pan because it sounds a bit monotonous at times, and also put some longer breaks in your track like the one at 2'35.

    Good luck :)

  9. Of course its good!!!

Take this baby for exemple : he shows no respect to his family and always act like a jerk

    Posted Image

"Hey you stupid parent, move your fat ass and bring me my cd-player"he says.

You obey and go get it, but you trick him by removing his gangsta-rap cd and put a trance cd instead (some goatrance preferably).

Posted Image He soon get into the rythmn and before he realize what's going on he start to dance like nobody's watching.Posted Image

After such an experience, your baby is transformed completely. He's the happiest baby in the world, always smiling and spreading love around him : a true hippy!

That's it : trance saved your baby!!!! Hurrah!!!!!!

  10. Do you actually know what the word "psychedelic" means?

    403166

Well, when I look in the dictionary, it says that it's a psychic state and the definition never mentions a link betwen this state and drugs. Maybe it has a different meaning in english.

But take a look at this topic : it seems that everyone here has its own definition of psychedelic. So maybe you should exlain what you mean by psychedelic and why you think that Cinos never had that experience, why he shouldn't express his opinions......

@furthur: sorry to go off topic but it's just that I didn't like the "one of the biggest problems of this scene".

  11. Thats one of the biggest problems of this scene.People who never had at least one psychedelic experience and want to believe they know things and can separate styles and express their opinions.Noobs.

    403097

Do someone need to go to psy-parties in order to have a "psychedelic experience" ? No.

Do someone need to take drugs in order to have a "psychedelic experience" ? No.

Can someone express his opinion on this forum despite the fact that he don't take drugs/don't go to psy-parties ? Yes.

Am I "one of the biggest problems of this scene" ? I really hope not.

Were you overreacting because of someone's provocation ? Probably.

Now back on toppic : do you Cinos put Derango in the full-on category just because of the basslines, or do you put everything you don't like in this category ?
