no, there is no psytrance website that's cooler than psynews.org. Period. SMI²LE

"What did the original Goa Parties sound like in the mid-80's ? Almost impossible to achieve I'm afraid..." very difficult, yes, but not impossible... there MUST be piles of old tapes stashed in people's basements out there!! I'm sure that if there was some centralized effort encouraging people to bring out their stuff we'd get some pretty interesting material I mean who would've thought it would be possible to have a DJ set by Sasha from 1989? or original footage from The Book of Love? SMI²LE

well, I've seen quite some websites on very old acid rave stuff (meaning stuff from 1987 to 1992), they have a section with tape ripps in real player format of old DJ sessions, radio shows or live acts from the time, it's a really neat experience IMO!! Now if there were a place like that but with oldschool goa and proto goa tracks it would fucking rule!!! (imagine some ripped tapes of a Goa Gil DJ session from 1988... mmmm) examples of such rave sites: http://www.everythingstartswithe.co.uk/ http://www.hardcorewillneverdie.com/ SMI²LE

have you tried Union Jack - There Will Be No Armageddon ? SMI²LE

9 Beach Vol. 2, mixed by none other than THE Miko from California Sunshine. Almost EVERY track has SINGING on it!! I'm not talking about some ethereal voice in the backgound, I'm talking about actual singing with lyrics like in a pop song!!! So this got me thinking, if you could name a track which is ultra-cheezy, like so cheezy it would make Britney Spears' latest single sound underground, what would it be? My pick: 1. Yosi Apelboym, Danny Boy and Itay Sacish - Gigantic Smile (which can be found on 9 Beach Vol. 9 of course...) This track sounds like it was made by DJ Bobo in 1993... it has the trademark eurdance male rapping coupled with a girl singing. Is this supposed to be the new style of psytrance? I sure hope not... "Can i translate the "What is Goa?" article?" Of course you can, provided you pay the translation rights fee which amouts to around 2.500 USD. Send me a check and we'll talk SMI²LE just kidding

I HATE remixes!!!! Usually a remix means that an artist takes a perfect track and ruins it by changing it... the only remix out there that I find is just as good as the original is Hallucinogen - LSD (World Sheet Of Closed String Mix) SMI²LE

some of my personal favorites I'd like to ad: Chi AD - Anno Domini (and just about every album by him) California Sunshine - Nasha Pigs in Space - Pigs in Space Union Jack - There Will Be No Armagedon (not psy but very very good "classical" trance) Boris Blenn - Paradise Connection Ra - To Sirius Luminus - Hypnotica compilations: Psychedellic Goa Core Vol. 1 A Concept in Dance Truth of Comunication TIP - Phosphorescent SMI²LE

taking drugs would probably be the worst answer... Even if you forget about your negative feelings during your high they will come back 10 times stronger when you'll be coming down (except for psychedellics where they could come 100 times stronger during your trip I suggest dating someone else, that way you'll think "damn I was so stupid to think that she was the right one for me", you'll shag like crazy with your new gf and be happy Anyway, go out more, do more stuff, keep yourself too busy to think about personal stuff!! hey thanks everyone!! and yes, madpup, they obviously have the wrong adress since I don't speak russian Not only that but my internet browser doesn't even display russian carachters! That said, I've been recieving this kind of mail like once every 2 - 3 days for about a month now, so I suppose it's someone's intention to spam me. oh and sorry for posting this in the general section, I thought I was posting it in the off-topic section... SMI²LE

I mean the album "Progressive Trance" of which this is the best track IMO SMI²LE
-
Indoor - Sweet Coming Home... not exactly new, I know but I "rediscovered" this album after a few years and I must say it held up to time pretty well!! SMI²LE
-
ah thanks ciotera!!! BTW would anyone who speaks russian care to tell me what it all means? (the general meaning is enough, no need for word by word translation SMI²LE

I've been recieving mails like this for a while now... does it make any sense in any of your browsers cause for me it's just a bunch of random carachters: "ÍÀÖÈÎÍÀËÜÍÛÉ" Áèçíåñ Öåíòð Ïðèãëàøàåò Âàñ íà ñåìèíàð ïî òåìå: Ïîðÿäîê îñóùåñòâëåíèÿ âíåøíåýêîíîìè÷åñêèõ îïåðàöèé ïî íîâîìó Ãðàæäàíñêîìó è Õîçÿéñòâåííîìó êîäåêñó Óêðàèíû. pretty minimalistic for a morning set if you ask me... Etnoscope was an excellent choice, but it went downhill from there IMHO. Of course, today it's not "in" to have lotsa melodies in your tracks anymore so I don't know, maybe it's just me who's getting old SMI²LE
-
oh damn, you're right FlyingCircus. When saying "Quirk" I was thinking of the collaborations between Ollie and Boris Blen... sorry.... SMI²LE
-
"they all sound the same, no progress at all" hey, let's not forget that "that guy" also is behind Psyko Disko and Quirk, 2 of the most innovative groups ever... Space Tribe is just the name under which he releases "straight" stuff SMI²LE

"Your offer is very kind. Take care. :)" is this supposed to make any sense? SMI²LE

Filteria Remix of old Etnica track avaliable for download...
Lemmiwinks replied to a topic in General Psytrance
cool man, I'll definatley be there!!! "The reason why it won't be released is that Max (Etnica) recieved this track from me. He thought it was abit outdated and had to many melodies (todays scene we have one melodie/track or simply no melodies at all)..." WTF??? Now I understand better why all the classic artists are releasing crap... :-( SMI²LE -
Filteria Remix of old Etnica track avaliable for download...
Lemmiwinks replied to a topic in General Psytrance
EXCELLENT!!!! Why the hell will it never be released??? It sure as hell beats the crap out of all those shitty remixes of goa classics out there? SMI²LE -
oh no... the last thing we need is another album full of crappy remixes ruining perfect tracks... SMI²LE
-
yeah but I was speaking of laid-back trance. Son of the Light - Buddha Raga is my favorite, I just can't stop smiling SMI²LE
-
yeah I find that minimal is pretty good for driving. Nothing beats morning trance (like Feuerhake, Bodh Gaia, Son of the Light, etc.) when driving home from a psy party though SMI²LE

Simon P is notorious for not keeping the deadlines when releasing stuff... and anyway it's barely the 2nd month of the year, have some patience!! SMI²LE
