Yeah that is a really nice release, more post-rockish than his previous works though, which i love (especially Suture).SubtractiveLAD-Apparatus
Best non psy related ambient of 2008. Amazing music!
You might also like this one.My favourite ambient of 2008.
n5MD is highly recommended.

Good stuff.I've been looking for similar techno for ages now,i went for schranz but it sounds way too boring for me.Unless it thats considered to be schranzy as well.some good techno (prolly sounds like psytrance for some):
I was at this techno party at the uni and someone played a two hours set of fullon psychedelia around this style of techno, funny thing is there was a psytrance room which sounded like american pop compared to that.
That day really made me wonder.
Anyway,got any releases to recommend.

How dare you insult my race.I shall report that to Mars the IV in haste. So you are saying that this gay electro house or whatever, is now called Electro?! Uh, oh, I am glad that there are almost no techno people here, they would laugh their asses off at ya'll.
Oh well, what is it worth to discuss with a bunch of hippies and a halfling?!
But no really,do you actually find that Hacker tune gay.Weird.
And yeah techno people would laugh their asses off,the same people that refer to Extrawelt and tunes packed with melodies and groove as 'minimal'.
How laughable.I wonder what radi has to say.BTW how do you expect a decent level of discussion about techno on a forum called 'psynews'.
edit: allow me to call anything techno and electro the same way you called me a halfling,im not a halfling, learn your DnD

Geomatic album is fooken amazing but it's not as industrial as i thought he meant although Empusae and Tzolk'in have turned a bit more downtempoish on their last albums.a geomatic track on youtube:

haha i know.lol, what a goa thing to say

Nemo things have changed since the nineties, genres have been merged,no more vinyl old man. What the duck are you guys talking about?! Techno./... Electro... have you guys ever HEARD electro?!
ELECTROhttp://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=K4wFyFvF4Mc NOT ELECTRO
ELECTRONOT ELECTROplease people, dont follow the trend of thinking that minimal or tech-trance is ELECTRO cause it fucking A I N T!
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VO87v4y-ZjY&...feature=related TECHNO
-
Oh well.In my books, thats electro http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6tjSg_fKVEg and if you cant see the difference then theres no point in comparing.ALERT: STOLEN MELODY!
Seriously!
He flinched that melody from The Visions Of Shiva - How Much Can You Take?!
He he...
And yep, it feels more like electro to me. Sounds like a Rother remix of HMCYT...
But anyway,my point is there's as much trippy and melodic music in electro/techno but the genre is simply too wide to define, referring to Anoebis' post.
And please with the stolen melodies, there must be like 467000 melodies written for all trance/techno/electro music, some of them have to sound very similar.

A dimension of slowly building new-born universes.the black album, "consumed" by itself lives on another dimension i think

Yeah techno is so non-melodic http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=K4wFyFvF4McTrance, I simply hate the monotonic non-melodic feeling of techno... Same same same... Bleh Melody lover forever
-
I like techno that puts you into a state of deep trance.
-
Damn straight.Best band in the history of the universe, evargh. Pure aural architecture.
Aphex Twin's works sound amateur compared to ae's.
-
Never got tired of this one.
Such an amazing atmosphere throughout the whole album, and Astromech Starport at the end, what a tune !
-
Especially the Steptime album.Highly underrated.Yeah, BotFB's Twin Sharkfins is essential, as well as the stuff on the Schlab comps. I also recommend Stone Age Records. Not entirely forest, but with at least forest tendencies.

Isn't there already tons of such music from the 2000-2003 minimal era?Like Phony Orphants, kind of.Well, then let us hope that people will copy Anakoluth!
Anyway,it's good stuff but i hate it when a tune starts like boring as fuck and then turns out to be a melodic beast without really building to it.Still pretty good and haunting.

Great news, thanks.I am listening to the Bulgarian Radio.pweronet ambient channel were I got to know the lunar sound tracks that there is another artist with nice ambient. Androcell, it´s pretty goaish, I already heart a few tracks of them, too

Yes there are. There's a demo with 9 or 10 tunes if i remember well.Really hard to find.Had it and lost it after an HD crashAre there any more tracks besides Dark Awakening and Part 4?
I missed that live as well. They played as Quantasia.I later got to listen to a few unreleased Quantasia tunes and i was really impressed and gutted for having missed that set.and for historic purposes, they have played a live set in the first samothraki festival. i missed the live but everyone present was speaking with the best possible words.
never heard of any other interstellar overdrive appearance since. they've kind of become a legend i guess..

I found a slow and deeply atmospheric remix of it on Audiogalaxy ages ago which i haven't got here. Can't find it on discogs.Any idea if it's ever been released?THE FLAME OF ETERNAL LIFE.

Zero Barrier is pretty trippy as well.

++aphex twin selected ambient works

It's funny how people always recommend the same kind of psy-ambient and then try to define ambient as well.
http://www.discogs.com/release/61 actual ambient
http://www.discogs.com/release/217604 mint highly emotional industrial ambient
http://www.discogs.com/release/6141 more mint ambient,a bit dark and chaotic
