  1. I wish I could help you bro, I have checked my hard-drives and no luck :( And good to see you back here, even if it just a peek!

I was wondering what happened to you since you stopped being active here! I hope all is well with you now!

I back up everything, but just checked and there are no mixes of you in my stock, sorry mate -_-

Hey guys thanks for checking anyway! I messaged Vic from Triplag and he sent two bastards my way, now looking for third, but more than happy to have these two.

As for personal issues, just got stuck with work and honestly trying to make a living, meeting people, getting married, then having that half-work. After I ended SE i stopped following psy as much and diversified, but never opened another music again ;) hehehe

The real question is what have I missed here, I feel so out of place with this so new and shinny and white (better than the black by the way).

  2. Sorry for the spam, please don't shoot me and if you must do it in the arm... the left one...

    I'm looking for some old mixes published here (2006 - 2007) i know it's a longshot.

After the brief intro's please continue reading:

I resurfaced again briefly and honestly for very personal reasons, i had a hard drive crash a few years ago and lost some old mixes i had made, which would make me unbearably happy to listen to again even thought they were shite, but you know they were my shite and that always smells like roses to you... know what I mean?

so please look in the confines of your hard drives, and your souls for the following:

I would not only be eternally greatful to you if you upload it somewhere so i can obtain it. I will ALSO ship you my ex-wife for a whole ONE night to do as you please. Sound like a deal?

    thanks in advance folks.

  4. No I won't, but I will try my best to get an escape route working before you make that mistake

Hello folks I resurfaced again briefly and honestly for very personal reasons, but before that

    Posted Image

Welcome to the old new psynews offtopic. I hope you can hang out a little. Will you be my best man?

  5. Hello, I used to come here back when when the music was good (that was roughly in the 1700's, Bach was killing dance floors back then and mozart was about spirituality).

anyway, I used to write garbage reviews and even had a website about them. People used to like going to that place. We had our own little blue room going, but that's another story.

i just stumbled here from the way back machine and felt like waving at those that still recall about the rah.

( there's very few instances when you can talk about yourself in 3rd person and not sound crazy, this was not one of those instances).

peace and light and get married and stop smoking dope!

    :P

  6. just read on the twisted forums that the album has 600 pre-orders right now (http://www.twistedmusic.com/forums/viewthread/3674/P225/ on page 16). even though i absolutely think that people should buy an album and not download illegally, 600 units of an album that is not even out officially can't be called bad sales. most albums in this genre not even make 500 or 1000 within a year. what did jikkentekki say, he sold 10 or 20 units of his first album?

600 sold cd's is not much really if you consider you need at least 1000 copies to start pressing. That's the number most distributors will give you. You can do it on your own, but it's not really cost effective until you start with a 1000.

Most people need to sell the first batch (1000 to break-even) from an investment of 2000 USD$ average. I'm guessing flying the photographer to India and then designing the cover art in this case took this much.

so if you think about it... it's really not that much... we're not exactly talking about greed here.

  7. If this will be the cover I'll buy it digital only.

Has to be the weakest Twisted cover ever

Yeah, I don't like this cover at all

Not keen on that cover at all :(

Since when a random pic and a cropped fake flying baba became badass??

I got tired of quoting after that. Just for the ones that didn't know, Storm Thorgerson, the dude that shot the album cover... has also done a few things in the past....

a few things... i don't know if it's the worst album cover thus far, but I will bet money it was the most expensive one so far for the twisted crew.

    just fyi...

edit: no wait, i think he also shot the last younger brother's album cover... never-mind... then...

  8. Posted Image

Yeah, I know it's going to be shit and all. Nice artwork though.

Also, good cover and even better name:

    Posted Image

I like both, but Kaleidoscopolis actually has a very strong visual concept to go with the graph, even if it's technically not very challenging.

  9. They; Legiac is Funckarma + Cor Bolten. They also work together under Dif:use releasing more ambient based stuff :)

    e. I didn't like Mings Feaner that much, some tracks were brilliant while others just slipped away .___.

ah I had no idea, prolific chap he is...

and I do agree some parts of mings feaner slip, but It seems on the whole like a proper tripping album...

  10. i was listenning to Holden's Live dj sets recently - actually two of his sets: one from Igloofest (Canada) and the other from Rex Club (Paris) - both 2009 - he played a lot of unreleased (or soon to be released tunes) of Border Community and i have to say it is the most innovative and creative minimal-tech sound i've ever heard

if you have any chance listen to those (easy to find via google) - both 3 hours long - a trip guaranteed

found the playlist for igloofest... the file is in deed a google away...

    looks tasty

  11. i'm actually a bit surprised nobody else seems to like Legiac, it's rather experimental by all means, but i think he manages to handle the chaos and storm of things quite well with something that makes sense in the end. It was very revelatory for me. Not mention the artwork (mings feaner) is literally out of this world

  12. I'm gonna go with some new stuff, got kind of tired of typing the same three cats all the time...

    - Are Teek L **

    - Two Lone Swordsmen (kind of classic, admittedly) ***

    - EEDL **

    - Funckarma *

    - Karsten Pflum **

    - Legiac ***

    - Miles Tilman **

    - Milieu *

    - Styrofoam **

    - Loess **

    - Scone **

  13. Nathan fake has some great tracks outside anything that is related to "Drowning in a sea of love"

Some of his later stuff i.e: hard islands is arguably strange at points... but looking back it has some great things.

Holden, has some huge classics as well signed under that windmill... outhouse, a break in the clouds

and just for strangeness' sake, ricardo tobar, which is not much my thing, but still pretty good. Without forgetting the very elusive Luke Abott, that turned into one of my all time fav listens and has little to do with dance and a lot more with electro IDM of sorts... They have even done the comercial really well with misstress barbara that turned out quite tasteful...

most of this is actually rather old now, but it sounds shiny new to me...

it's rewarding label to explore. :)

  14. Boards Of Canada-Music Has The Right To Children

uff, I couln't agree less there. Maybe i'm just always in the mood to hear that album. I'd probably mark "geodaddi" as more of a mood album from them, but that's totally personal.

In my part, moody stuff in that respect... probably anything by Helios, Kettel (as it was mentioned before), legiac, Porn Sword Tobacco (I've very rarely found myself wanting to hear anything in that order that is not, Stress Assassin) and Near the Parenthesis, which sometimes goes down well and some others it doesn't.

  15. i didn't think it was that bad, sounds like a sunny, trippy, mashy, barbie-doll dance with a quirky energetic beat on it.

I could see myself liking that every now and again. like one afternoon I actually enjoyed an Autokratz track... jesus did i feel dirty afterwards...

  16. that people that don't listen to dance music seems to always refer to it as boom-boom music? (boom is the kick drum obviously).

    not everyone calls it boom-boom-boom

some people also call it, doof doof... Doof... ;)

we only learn what we are interested about. Not everyone likes electronic music.

I can't recall how many times, i've tried to teach ex-girlfriends and old friends about this music and the intricate world around it. Some will go to length of listening to it a bit, but not everyone gets bitten by the same snake. It's taste at the end of day. I tried to stop 'educating' a while ago.

Instead, I got a girl that can appreciate a good electronic music and I try to share the music and love for it, with people that understand it.

The rest seems like a lost cause to me.

  17. Nathan Fake, Extrawelt, Fairmont, Holden, Luke Abbot, avus....

I'm not even touching on genres and what they do best combining things. Regardless of all that, it's great electronic music. Their sense of aesthetic is just spot on all the time. I don't think they've ever published something that was... close to awful (at least the ones i've got, which is not the whole discography)... but what I have heard is as close to brilliant as it can get for me right now.

just wanted to share. Anybody else on the same train?

    http://www.discogs.com/label/Border+Community

  18. I was this close to getting approved a TV spot with the track "the world is inside you now". :)

I think both albums are good, and if you catch them on the right mood they are definitely great, but as it has mentioned before, they could use a few more hooks here and there. Good music overall
