Yeah, Billy. Totally awesome. Really.
Have you thought about maybe putting a bird or squirrel or something on one of the branches in the same style? Directly to the right of the window might be a good place. You know, the "owner" of the tree.
Thanks, Per I was thinking about adding some kind of animal to the tree. I think a bird would complement it best. It'd be a fun challenge to continue the swirly design to it.

Looks nice , good work man. You use stencil or plain tape to make the outer lines ? Nice color choice also
Thank you I used a white charcoal pencil to make the outline of the tree and then painted within the lines.
that's amazing! :posford:
wish i could paint like that...would do a pretty mushroom florest
Thanks, man I should take a pic of the lower half sometime since there are more weird plants I made, but the couch is blocking it.

I never saw this thread!
Totally funny!
Heheh, thanks. I'm glad you liked it
Btw, your sig is awesome.
-
Thanks, man I'm not really much of a painter to be honest, it's not too difficult to paint within the lines.
I bet you you might be surprised to find people who are into your stuff. Any chance you'll share some paintings. (PM maybe?)

The wall in the main living space of my house is rather boring. I wanted to liven it up with a mural of a tree It's almost done.
Just wanted to share what I've been up to
Hmm, It's kinda hard to get the whole thing in one pic.
-
It's great gift material, but right now im quite poor , so i'll probably gonna have to wait some months before buying those expensive-looking devices
No prob Just let me know whenever you're up for a new wall piece.
-
There's no chance of you making some new ones
Oh, I definitely will. I just have to get more wood. Were you interested in one?
-
I did. Death Posture bought one a few months ago.
-
This is really f..king good wood work
Thanks
-
wow, thats nice
So, are you going to combine wood and painting next? I think you were into painting with your bottlework, right?
Hey thanks Evans That's exactly what I'm on to next. In the meantime I've been painting a mural in my house. I'm almost done with it and will post a pic when finished.

This does sound good buzzman. I laughed heartily at the Ron Burgandy samples

Thanks, Billy. I really appreciate it. Just one more track, which is taking a while, and some major touching up in general, and it'll be done. Bought a field recorder recently, and am hoping to get some good material for the final track on a road trip this coming week.
Meanwhile, I'm losing patience waiting for your latest masterwork, the one that's going to blow minds like Scanners. It really is uncomfortable waiting for it.
That's great news, Per. Can't wait to hear your field recordings. Where are you going on your trip? I guess I should say where did you go since you're probably traveling already.
Heh, I'm losing patience with the track, too. I know how I want it to end, but it's just a matter of getting the last transition to fit with it.
-
Man, you created something magical. This track can really send you to another world.
This is really good. I listen to it regularly.
+1,000,000 to that. This is a great piece of work, Per. Can't wait for your EP release

Why does Torbjörn keep sniffing his butt when I ask him if he wants a treat?
Very cool track, Per. This has retro vibes written all over it. The chord changes are quite intelligent as they course between a haunting mood and a melancholic atmosphere. I do love that you made this track cyclical to resemble the Mayan concept of time. You can almost visualize folding this track and connecting the two ends
As far as sound quality goes, I have no issues with it except for clarity at the mid section. It could just be my stereo because my old receiver died. I'll listen on different systems and get back to you on it.
Again, truly excellent work, Per I'm very happy that the music continues to successfully flow.

Everytime I'm inspired to write some music it's at night. I don't think I've ever had daytime inspiration. Things always get in the way during the day - phonecalls, work, neighbors, eating . I'm sure this is the same for a lot of musicians here.
I can generally remember where I was and what I was feeling for all of my finished tracks.
My happiness often coincides with the completion of a track. This really sucks.
It's become a lot more difficult to write music I'm happy with plus it takes a million times longer than it used to. In the first 5 years of music making, I could stay up until the mid-morning, which would often be 10+ hours and finish a 7-10 min piece. Now, it can take me months to complete 1 min intro.

Beautiful. Looking forward to the tweaked version
Thanks so much, Colin. If I get around to it, I'll post it here

Are you looking for something intelligible or speaking in tongues crazy?
-
Really great stuff Symph ! You've got the skillz ! What an impressive work, whatever you do.
Thanks seraph!
Great stuff man, keep using your talent
Thanks a lot Time Trap
That is so impressive. How long does it take you to complete a piece? The smaller one reminds me of this:
Sweet!
Mdk
Awesome! Those Galaga ships would be a cool thing to make. It really depends on the design to calculate how much time it takes. On average, I'd say about a week, if I were to do nothing else but work on one.
I'd buy that!
Awesome work symph as allways
Thanks Malevol3nt, you know, I could make another one of these if you're interested.
^ I've already bought it Malevol3nt
Or rather, I have dips until it's completed. Can't wait.
I'm finally finished, DP. It took so long because of the sanding and staining. There were so many little wood niblets and random debris that were a bitch to remove. I think it looks great now! I'll send you my PayPal and get your address

very cool stuff symph...
What tools are you using exactly?
Thanks Puck
I'm using a drill and a scroll saw.
-
It's been in my head all day today, and it's been a couple days since I listened last.
Awesome! I am so tired of this piece. I need at least a year before i listen to it again
-
BY GOD YOU'RE GOOD!
Is there anything you can't do?!
Heheh, Thanks Insejn! There's PLENTY I can't do, but I cannot tell you what those things are
-
I did an orchestral thing on my Yamaha in 1997. Not on the internet anymore no.
Good stuff Symph! I have a feeling it sounds better as a .wav
Sweet! Thanks NN You're right, it does sound better, as with the wav, the high end has a better presence.
Doomsday is great! Very moody and the orchestra sounds good (much better than mine!); I really like the way you used the different articulations. And the vocals takes it a real step up in depth - the first time I heard them I got goosebumps - although even more layers would smooth it out a bit more. I love the ending!
Sorry for crashing the thread Billy, I didn't realise this was an old thread and that you'd bumped it to post your OWN track; I just read the first post and thought you were still looking for inspiration, I didn't read it to the end or look at the dates when I posted ... my bad
Not a problem at all Colin, this thread is open to all Thanks for the great words, too. It's an honor to hear your feedback
-
Heh, I've probably listened to this one 25-30 times. It's my favorite of yours and hasn't gotten old at all
-
Very nice track dude! I would send this to twisted or ultimae records this is definitely releasable!
Thanks Getafix You think Twisted would take this one? Wow!
Wow, Symph, really nice track. I have nothing more to add cause others said it all. Keep up the good work Symph.
Great to know you liked it Seraph Thanks a lot!
Wow , been trough this one 2 times , and read the comments at the same time , hehe. Man this is good , retro feeling.. strong emotions with this one , great production! Agree with the bass issue , but its nothing that takes down the song overall.. 10/10 , keep it up , sounds good m8. maybe 1-2 nice remixes of it , i know i would like to hear em =) thx!
Very cool Thanks a bunch, f0rce! If you or anyone want to remix this one, don't hesitate to PM me.

Earlier this week, I went back to the Fishbones bar and asked about the bottle I made them. I couldn't see it anywhere and wondered whether or not it still remained intact. It turns out that the bottle has to be hidden at certain hours of the day because people have tried to steal it What a funny compliment.
