  1. I'd personally take the original over the enchanced one. The front cover artwork is one of my favourite sci-fi/alien/abstract paintings of all time. I even tried to look for more artwork by the creator but alas I'm not sure if the discogs info is correct since I didn't find anything.

Point taken. The Nova tekk version is flashier, it screams at you. I will have to have both right in front of me to really make my mind up. It's a fine peace of art for a fine piece of music.

  2. so i would like to devise a new saying: MAKE CHEESE FROM THE BEGINNING AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE :P

I like to second that. No cheese for starters! Bang on psychedelic stuff for at least the first three or four records. Then do whatever you feel like doing. It's a free world.

SAVE THE CHEESE FOR LAST! :D

  3. couldn't resist taking these :P

You like to tease people don't you Frozen Dream.

I must say I'm a tiny bit disappointed with my copy of IFO cause the artwork isn't enhanced like yours. I guess you own the Nova tekk version.

Anyways it feels great to have bought one for a reasonably good price.

    My babies

  4. Wow these guys know how to make melodic fullon. It reminds me of the early days of psytrance. Not so much bassline-driven as most of the releases nowadays. Floating intelligent music that takes me up there as the fluolight fades away and the sun is setting. The most magical part of the day accompanied by the best music. Psytrance lives and shines more brightly than ever before. Lots of layers to keep you from losing your attention. Percussive synths and the most beatiful melodies take you on a long journey through hyperspace. Saddle up and ride with the DMT-cowboys, a trip you won't easily forget.

    Highly recommended for music lovers!

  5. I always dance right at the front, I am not a foot tapper!

The fact is (well not a fact as this is my taste but as my taste is a fact as I am me and I know what my taste is so I can say that as my taste it is a fact but it is not objective and shouldn't be taken as a sweeping fact that is true for everyone) that Simon's music has gone downhill lately. I haven't heard anything under the Hallucinogen Moniker since TLD (which I didn't think was that good as it was too cheesy) that didn't make me groan. Well actually that's a lie, The Herb Garden & e were both fantastic but also both ambient tracks. His Shpongle stuff is still good but nothing like it was. Younger Brother has too many lyrics and those tracks just make me cry with the wasted space on the album.

So he is a has-been (IMO) and I am sure for some people he is a never-had-been. If you think the recent output from Simon is great then I am happy for you, I never think that my taste is in anyway better than other people's but for me Simon has become a big disappointment and there are many other much better artists out there I'd rather spend my time on.

One thing that does impress me about Simon though is that he does seem to be doing what he wants to do. That is another reason why I think he shouldn't bow to fan pressure and make a 3rd Hallucinogen album (he was obviously joking when he said that he would and he seemed to truly believe there would not be enough interest and therefore wouldn't have to do it), if he does do it just for the fans then it won't be something he has made for himself and will be all the weaker for it. He'll be thinking "what will go down well" and as soon as an artist starts thinking that; they are lost.

Of course there is a decent chance I have no idea what I am talking about, just some fried brain on the internet with his own opinions in his own little world. Feel free to love SP like a god but I'll stick with Twisted, MOTY & e thanks.

I don't adore him like a God, he is God ;):P . In my opinion he's still doing it meaning get me to dance & groove for the whole show  . That doesn't happen very often believe me. You just can't ignore the influence he had on the psytrance scene. Wether you don't like him or some of his music, that's up to you. Like you said you respect him for what he does even if you don't like all of his output. I'm starting to sound like his lawyer so time to quit it.

Note: Don't take my posts too literal, except the one you quoted, that was me playing the advocate of the devil..I mean God ;) . :P

Smilie overdose. Can't be too careful.

  6. well i dont know why you bothered to quote me there...you didnt even say anything related to the quotes...

but since you asked...heres the fuckin' quote...dumb ass

you wanna keep playing? if you do...at least try making it interesting. youre too easy

I thought I was pretty clear for a dumb ass.

I have voted 2 days ago on the twisted forum. The counter stood at 210 people desperately wanting a third Hallucinogen album. I've just visited the forum again and the counter said 244 wanted the album, seriously.

Here is what I propose to the psynews community: If everyone here got an account on the twisted forum and vote EVERYONE would benefit from it. Let me explain: If you like Simon's music you should have already voted. If you didn't you're a lazy f**ker.:P If you like Hallucinogen's first two albums but stopped believin' in him when you listened to his recent output, go vote. When the third album sucks, you can bash Simon for eternity for all I care because I've purchased my third Hallucinogen album together with all of his devoted fans. If you don't like his music at all, it is possible yet incredible, and still go vote you can say that YOU've made your fellow psytrance-listeners( the Hallucinogen aficionado's) eternally grateful because YOU made the difference. It's all about togetherness, understanding, freedom of taste. Offcourse you're allowed, as always, to literally wipe your ass with the third Hallucinogen album. It does'nt matter because by then I will have my treasure, our treasure, yes the third Hallucinogen album, playing in my CD-player. EVERYONE'S HAPPY NOT???

This whole post was a dry joke to the whole poll thing.

You've taken one sentence out of context. Then you twisted it by saying I called everyone a lazy fucker who doesn't agree with me. I'm not gonna put a smiley behind every sentence you might not understand.

    But for you anything. Editing.

I'm willing to put more smilies to make it a little easyer on you ...oh wait

  7. seriously...you need to check yourself.

    Check.

i never said word 1 about you. i never insulted you or claimed to know anything about you.

do not do it to me.

I'm a Hallucinogen fan, the same for AP. I don't like Skazi though he's KILLARGH and I hate IF. You claimed all sorts of things about people like me.

i dont give a rats ass what kind of music you like...listen to anything and everything what do i care?

    I love you too.

it was you who started arguing with me not the other way around.

Think before you start posting then.

so maybe you need to think before using words like "respect" and maybe dont go around trying to tell other people theyre wrong when you dont know shit about shit about what they are talking about.

    Hey what's new.

if you werent in the same places as me at the same time as me...just who the fuck are you to try to tell me im wrong about what ive seen and experienced?

Oh yeah I forgot. THE ORACLE. I'm not judging anything just your narrow-mindedness.

i just went and reread this whole thread...and youve been combative the entire time being insulting, calling everyone who doesnt agree with you a lazy fuck...

Now that would be stupid, wouldn't it?

Don't twist my words. I never said that anywhere. Where is the fuckin' quote?

thank you for proving my point about the type of people who like simon posford.

And still you are generalising, you haven't proved anything.

I'm not the only one replying to your posts am I?

The only thing I shouldn't have done was replying. That's the end of it for me.

  8. my high horse?????

    wow.

That's just because your mouth oozes BS that it makes me sick. I'm not gonna begin to gather all your lame and weak qoutes.

    you sir...are completely incorrect.

    1. i didnt say psytrance started in 1996...i said i stopped listening to goa in 1996.

    2. yes thay are two entirely different styles of music...thats why we have two different names for them.

    3. in the late 90's most stuff that was actually psytrance was still being called goa...even though there was a definite difference between the two. at that time if people asked me what kind of music listened to id say "goa/psytrance". from the late 90's to the very early 2000's the terms goa and psytrance were interchangeable. as the music that we recognize as psytrance now became more prolific and more popular, people started to differentiate between the two and started to use the names goa and psytrance more accurately and separately.

i have no idea how old you are....but....were you there? were you part of the psychedelic dance music scene at that time? if you were then you should know all this already...and if you werent...well hopefully what i just said helps you understand a bit better.

I knew you were gonna say this. That's your interpretation. Not very different from my view.

I guess you mean Goa evolved to more techy stuff like for instance the Delta. It EVOLVED like everything that isn't dead. GOA EVOLVED to subgenres like psytrance.

And yeah I was there since '98.

But this is totally besides the point. If you don't like Hallucinogen, man I don't care.

Fact is that I like him, among others. Don't go talkin' like that about me cause you don't fuckin' know me nor do you know all of his fans. RESPECT as opposed to narrow-mindedness.

    PEACE

  9. yes....and?

So psytrance started in 1996? when you stopped listening to Goa? ...and they are 2 totally different genres? Last time I checked in the 90's psychedelic dancemusic was referred to as Goa. Psytrance evolved from it around the millenium.

I don't mind what you think about anyone or anything, just get of your high horse. It doesn't suit you.

i prefer to call it having a discerning palate.

    Sure.

  10. i never claimed to listen to goa....i havent listened to goa since 1996, i listen to psytrance. 2 entirely different kinds of music.

So first things first. You don't listen to Goa, oh sorry you did, until 1996. That's fourteen years of listening to psytrance, or what???

that will give me more room on the dance floor for psykovsky, venom sense, and unwashed tomato and i wont have to deal with a bunch of cheese ball full on neo hippies stumbling through my dance space choking me with a cloud of patchouli oil.

    Feeling real smug about ourselves?

  11. I've purchased SUNS OF ARQA the Remixes 1979-1995 a year ago because of a remix done by Adrian Sherwood. I love reggae & dub. I was pretty disappointed with some of the tracks, though some remixes are done nicely, overall very dubby. Lot's of sitar and ethnic sounds.

Remixes done by Youth, Swordfish from Astralasia and as mentioned before Adrian Sherwood pretty much deliver the goods. The rest is filler.

I hope this release is better, gonna check it out!

  12. Will fall in my letterbox in the near future:

    1) Transwave – Helium (Matsuri)

    2) Man With No Name - Moment Of Truth (Concept In Dance)

    3) Astral Projection - The Astral Files (Transient)

    4) Pleiadians - I.F.O. (Dragonfly)

    5) Pleiadians - Family Of Light (Dragonfly)

    6) Technossomy – Synthetic Flesh (Flying Rhino)

    7) Etnica – Plastic CDS (Blue Room)

    B)

    My eyes hurt

Anyway my copy is travelling from Canada to his rightfull owner.

    That would be me...YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!

I can feel him already...pickin' up the force

  14. It depends on the mood you're in I guess. There are plenty of tracks that take me up there, lots of them I heard at party's I don't even know.

But seriously (besides the usual Koxbox or Hallucinogen tracks) AP's Solid Electronics, not because of psyched out leads, but for it's effectiveness on the dancefloor. A real groove monster.

Zirrex has some really fucked up psychedelic tracks, I'd go for Mars-4(edit: or self-titled track Zirrex). Production is not that good but his tracks impose progression. Spacetravel in the finest goa tradition.
