  1. I was a little bored today, and a bit sad to actually because almost all of my friends are abroad and all others are working. But not me though. So I decided to do something, and this is what happened :P

I usually don't do this type of music, and I only spent like.. an hour on it. But hey, at least I wasn't bored that hour =)

It's a bit downtempo, oldskool.. something.

    Xiphiaz - Ye olde

    Listen, or don't (:

    Thanks!

  2. After a lot of pushing from my friends I managed to try to make a more aggressive tune. I was told to listen to eskimo and such, although I like the aggressive style I don't know if it's what I could do best. But anyways, last night I threw something together (:

The intro is quite un-aggressive though  (can't help it)

    Xiphiaz - Camel Ion

As usual I would very much appreciate any kind of feedback, although I've not finished that much of the track really (:

    Thanks!

  3. Hey there..

Iam making a track, where all my elements are influenced by Scream4 distortion, Iam making a techtrance track..

So my problem is that Iam having problems with the fading..

Anyone who can help me fading in/out my elements when I use Scream4??

    Regards

    Tore

I'm not quite sure why you're using the scream to fade in/out. Anyhoo, just whack an automotion in there using the volume-knob? Or use the mixer.

  4. I am starting to love this track more and more, awesome work and definately your best tune to date, Xiphiaz. no complaints from me :P

    Thanks m8 (:

God I love those opening choirs and atmospheres., lovely chord progressions and then it just kicks off !

    Fantastic stuff.

    And thank you too! (:

what kind of equipment have u been using?

    269019[/snapback]

I'm using reason 2.5, nothing more.

  5. because i can't make nice melodies in reason i want to input them from fruity as a midi file.how is that done?i see that there is an option in reason:import midi file but i can see no result.how do i put the midi melody sequence in a synth in reason?

It seems like you've fallen in custom to the pianoroll in FL. I liked it too, and it was hard to move on to reason. But you can always use the edit mode in reason in the sequencer, it's pretty much the same as the pianoroll, try to adjust the zoom- and quantizesettnings to make it work more like the one in FL. On topic, I've never imported any midi-stuff in reason either, so I can't help you there =/

  6. Nice work, definately better and more refreshing than any full on I've heard in 2005..

Sweet opening, chilly "mitt i naturen" kind of vibe :)

    Thanks a lot :D That's quite a praise! (:

I like this song! :) light, nice bassline, atmospheric synths, good percussion and it... somehow floats.

    Keep up the good work!

edit: after hearing the song a few more times in the repeat.. the intro is sweeet indeed :) but the ending part.. a bit too abrupt! is it not finished yet ?

Hey man (: Thanks for the comment! And no, I'm not quite done yet (: I have about three more minutes planned.

    Hey Xiphiaz,

    Sounds great!

When the squelchies come in around 5m, i'd raise them a bit... they're pretty low and sound cool. I'd like to hear them better. :-)

Thanks, I'm already on it! (:

  7. Recently the Music Making forum here seems to be flooded with "listen to my new track" type threads. I have no problem with these types of threads, but recently it seems like they are burying all the threads actually about making music (thus decreasing at least this viewers participation in these forums recently). Does anyone think that perhaps it is time for a sub-forum devoted solely to track feedback? This would give these threads a proper place to go and also refocus the music making section back on the actual techniques of making music and such.

    Just a random thought,

Sounds like a good idea to me.

  8. Heres an updated version of the track...

It still needs a lot of work on the breaks, transitions, mastering & EQ but u get the basic picture

    Lemme know what u think..

Suggestions/Criticism/Feedback and Brutal Honesty welcome !!

The percussion sounds nice, but I would like a bit fatter bass, and deeper. Try lowering the bassline a bit, and maybe add a sub too. (:
