  1. why would i bother giving an opinion then? there's a factor that creates a contrast between people, it's called TASTE.

though my point was bypassed as it seems, even though i dont like much of his material, a single track made me register and vote, but keep in mind, i voted as a GOA fan, and i wont beg him for an album, cause that's what the posts on the twisted forum are broadcasting.

I really wonder why are you saying that, is that jealousy?

The guy is asking the fans if they want an old school hallucinogen album, "old time cooking" i might say, he's aware of the new school mouvence goa and want to make sure their is still people who like the 95 music, so what?

You don't like his style but you vote anyway because you're dying for a new album, do you? :)

    Personally I'll beg him until he release the disc :P , because he's the father of the psytrance music B) no sweat;

  2. Nice work, but this is just too subjective...

There is a big difference between New school goa and Classic Full-on, albums like Hujaboy – Cut The Power and Delirious Noon – Launch For Lanctus not reaching the top 10 make me sick, because some Goa-crazy fans want Suntrip's discography on the top. Obviously some people love the goa sound and just hate everything else.

I strongly recommend for next time a separate Uptempo-Full-on/psy/whatever you call it column and another Uptempo-Goa column.

  3. I think the same goes for the ppl listening to it? I mean, if you only know Astrix or Infected, then this stuff will sound really different & underground. I think it's just a reaction against the overly poppy stuff we saw about a year or 2 ago with all those really cheeesy rmx's (2Unlimited, Soft Cell, ...)

But if you were around when the Gabber-thing emerged or are familiar with stuff by Venetian Snares or Hellfish, then it's easy to see that this Speed-dark-trance is very, very mediocre (at best)

It's probably something like 90's black-metal, agression & aversion that goes down really good with kids in their puberty, just because of it's shock value. There's bound to be some good stuff in there (somewhere) but the majority needs a lot of work before I'll even call it "music".

ANYHOW, gives me even more reason to go to sleep at night at the festivals :P

    UNDERGROUND

    Just Listen to My link

    Tracklist:

    01. M.I.K.E. - Elements Of Life

    02. Second Sun - Empire

    03. Exposure - Magic Impulse

    04. M.I.K.E. vs. John '00' Fleming - Ice Cream (Sonix Mashup)

This is what got me in the goa scene in the first place! Can you believe it

  4. This album is just epic! 1995? I can't believe it, these tracks were ahead of their time, especially the melodies. Just unbelievable! I first thought I enjoyed The Lone Deranger more, because I really didn't give twisted a chance because it was older(Like always, goa seems to be getting better when you go backwards in time.), but hoo-boy was I wrong. I can't believe how emotional these melodies can be, how rich the effects and how deep the atmospheres are. Seriously, 1995? How in the world..

Same thing, I started with The Lone Deranger and ended up with Twisted being my "old school" all time favorite

  5. simply the best psy album i heard in five years time

    it´s simply amazing

the melodies are just from heaven

i`m hoping for a second album, because he has a lot more of fine tunes

@anoebis: please play at least one song of crossing mind at eargasm :)

Man gotta check this out, even though the temple of chaos track didn't cought my attention

  6. It is in my to do list. As masen told you , it is in my plans to have a double cd released, ifo + ifo live.

Both deserves to be out at some point: so just keep on following because i will do everything in my power to make it happen... : ). And so there wil not be no more sad faces around !

PS: do u know there were at least 5000 copies sold of the dragonfly pressing? but still i see many people don't have one..

That's because I own 4 vinyl copies, i found them in an oldies store along with other hits, including Hallucinogen, Infected mushroom, goa Raum; etc...

anyway, all those 4 copies couldn't just work anymore, cuz they are all scratched or something, i use a digital itune version for my listening need, can you believe it ?

I just love it, top Goa album, Ektoplazm word

  7. I also think that the post-2005 "electro" house trend was among the worst ideas ever. That's when I stopped collecting the whole genre out of frustration, but that's another story.

Oh my i also dropped the house scene because of the stupid direction the new music was taking, everybody wants to make the same thing and repeat it over and over, and my head just blow at each indoor party, it was a nightmare.

The same thing is happening to the uplifting Trance scene, more artists are trying their luck and you can hear some bad shit in clubs these days.

I may sound off-topic but i fear the virus of the house-syndrome disease may just infect the Psychedelic sound, if you know what i mean.

All these tracks so called Progressive-Psy, needs to be sort-out, that's all.

I've checked the Luke Chable link, and i found this as a reply:The penultimate funky prog house track. Genius

It has nothing to do with the psychedelic sound

  8. KOXBOX - The Great unknown, the ebst choise, his last album from 2006 is to avoid at all cost

Every artist from Timecode may still sound as juno, the 3rd album from Artifakt (though i don't have it right now to make myself clear)

Also try Principle of Flight, Trentmoller, and some Various Artists disc may just sound right (like VA-Open, but with some IDM and industrial things)

  9. I don't study with music but I can recommend the ambient repetitive stuff (Asura, Aes Dana), because everything else will attract your attention and you will lose your concentration.

Also try not to use headphones, because of the stereo effect (something I found in some books).

And try to cut the high freq with an EQ (up to 18 kHz), especially for the Goa listeners (should be easy with a PC/MAC).

Listen to something new is way better because it won't shift the attention (Radio/fm like http://www.di.fm/psychill/ are great)

Music is great for logic operations (math, physics..) but can be harmful with others fields (memory shortage, miss-understanding, confusion)

AND WATCH OUT: NO vocals or your brain is gonna blow

  10. This floods the market with countless (literally) free releases which would never be released by any self-respecting label. So what happens? Some guy sees this article in Computer Music Magazine, and googles for goa trance. They end up downloading those releases because that's the easiest type of goa trance to download at the moment, they hear it and decide they don't like it. So they move on. By this, those free releasing labels are actually damaging the scene. The "free music revolution" is a welcome one, as long as quality is being maintained. Quality is definitely not being maintained.

I'm one of those newbies who stepped upon Ektoplazm while searching for Goa into google, and the result is the Goa compilation golden vibes 1, which is far from bad i think,

moreover, the first site to hit for free psy trance music this year is Ektoplazm, who define himself as Free HQ Psy music...which is true, cooool

Quality is being ignored i agree, but some artists keeps the level high, if you search for "top Goa producers" you will easily find them, some labels give a 2 minutes previews for their best release and it's cool because it allows those "newbies" to Judge the entire scene before actually spend money.

And i can't stand for those ignorants who step away just because they didn't like the free stuff, stupid fools, they will surely miss the music of their lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Agreed and we don't wish to bring any trouble to us and nor even this forum , any forum or anybody.

Best advice is if you can put your hands over this magazine , do it , its educational , brings a dvd with tons of samples and the latest vsts even including some free ones and its all for almost 6 pounds here , not very expensive.

25 Eur out here, with that i can kiss my pocket money goodbye, but I'm buying, since you obviously recommend

  12. It's just a reference to a particular period in time. Old school or News school(neo)Goa-trance are just 2 names for the same style, the only distinction is the time in which the artists were active. Hence the thread is a NEOGOA poll, it's helpful to know the timeline here. Nothing more, nothing less :)

OK, it's exactly my point, so why don't we make a Full Goa (1993-2010) Poll?

when the "old school" artists start making the goa sound using the latest technology (computer sequencers), they found themselves just about to produce the sound they wanted in the first place back in 95, you may call it the "dream sound", it's the same thing.

exp: the shakta track from Opus Iridium and Lepton Head 3, or Hallucinogen's LSD and Afgin's astral Projection.
