  1. Good thing you posted that in a huge size, otherwise I wouldn't have read it.

He clearly posted requesting sets with a variety of psy-styles, and that's exactly what we've provided him. He didn't specifically request Vibrasphere, Neelix, or Delirious Noon, he just said he likes stuff by those artists. He didn't even request that we post commercial sets, so why are you still bitching again? If you don't like the fact that 4 people posted their own mixes that they think are pretty good, then you missed the point of the thread.

hmmm looks like I'm the one who's off topic here,

nevertheless i think that this is not the proper place to do so (asking and posting mixes).

  2. really nice track

I like it ... and what appears to be the B-side of that record (M.S.B.O.Y.) is great too...

I never pictured Eric Prydz to be an interesting artist, I hate Call On Me :P

yeah me too but this tack is awesome, deep groovy prog.

I left the house scene because i couldn't find theses track anymore, so i guess this track just made my day :D

  3. Nothing wrong with that, especially if we think our own stuff is pretty good. I've already listened to PRS's set, it was really enjoyable!

C'mom people he's asking for something specific, like a 2hours set featuring vibrasphere, neelix, Delirious noon and Atrihom, this is pathetic cuz everyone think his/here mix is good enough, if you want to promote you mix find another place to do so cuz it's off topic here, and start searching the net for something real, some links to commercial Dj mixes that are really good, and post links please

  4. I don't know his previous efforts.

For me this album works best in a special mood,

because of it's quite slow pace.

Like when I'm tired and just want to relax and may have a nap.

Then it keeps me in a comfortable state between sleep and daydreaming.

It definately did grow on me. At the first listen I was a bit disappointed.

Me too, but i think that those who liked the first album will be disappointed by this one
  5. Most - either IFO (one hundred and something dollars) or Quaristice Ltd. edition (£100)

    No idea about the cheapest.

I've heard a similar quote attributed to George Best.

I've paid my LFO LP's 20 dollars or something? what's going on here,

As for the Topic, I dont really remember sorry, but since i've bought most of my collection on the net as digital, i dont think prices are that high..

  6.

I dont follow you here, expend your Mind, means :Start making you own music, the one you like, or start listening to everything that pass under you finger, so that you can judge on< Or maybe start collecting and listening to everything?

I can't do that, I dont thing i can listen to something that i dont like just to make myself a psychedelic music lover <_<

  7. I think MAM015 means commercial releases inside the psy scene.

    Exactly,

I'm a hard Rock fan you know, Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Metallica, Apocalyptica...

These guys aren't commercially successful (I mean when they started doing their music) but they did some great music, And I can hopefully recognize Great music when I "See" it....

  8. The real problem is that everyone is afraid from those commercial releases... I'm just ashamed that some people would tag those as Psychedelic music (which is in fact true).

In fact, Commercial releases tend to destroy the style because they are not much creative and attractive

Back in 95 there were no real borders to people's mind so Psychedelic was in fact an underground beautiful music because artists did create what they wanted in the first place (not what they should do to make money).

Now the only reason why IM shifted to the more Rock-Pop influence is to attract more audience, and therefore to make more Money: that's it, the bitter reality of this world, no one dare to speak of it, but everyone should ear money to live, right? :)

AND yes, everyone can make music he/she dislike as long as he/she copycat others work (ie the same bass sound and the same kick sound, redistributed via samples pack, the same noises etc), I remember the back in 95 the tracks were so different from each others that you can even remember the odds and the special "thing" about each one of them.

If you just ask yourself, why the old style attracted so much people, even Paul did some comp, and got heavily involved? Why

  9. I'll buy it regardless of whether there are kicks or not! I loved "Life^2", have had "Code Eternity" for like a year but still shrink wrapped, so not listened yet (I but too much music...)

Frankly, I just wanted to tease Abasio a bit. Though seriously speaking, I do prefer softer kicks in my chill/downtempo (i.e. "triphoppey beat" from your list probably)

    :)

EDIT: Ok, the samples are seriously stunning!!! :o

    MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Although softer kicks wont hurt anybody like me, Life Squared was indeed a blown away track, so good but so unbearable on headphones...

  10. I don't think that's the case with Psykovsky. All his album have a unique sound.

I wasn't talking about Psykovsky (I dont have Tanetsveta yet :) )... but since the second album is somehow a "remake" of Debut i could expect something similar, I can be wrong of course,

  11. An "outsider's" view on this:

On the more "ambient" tunes, there are some nice loops with vox and pads and atmospheres, in the background, sort of the stuff breaks/electro producers by the likes of Elite Force, Plump DJs, Meat Katie...etc were using, kinda Daft Punkinsh... that I would love listening to in the car. Though them tunes are ruined by his signature synth work and 4/4 kick and monotonous bassline, that don't sound good at all, on my speakers at least.

This would have been a lot better with some drum n bass style, drums.

I'm not going to comment on the fast/"dancefloor" tunes, as I don't like that kind of music at all.

All I am going to say is that there are so many breaks and odd beat parts, that make sure there is no real drive in the music. Defo not dancefloor material, not the kind of dancefloor we play for anyway.

    Peace.

This artist just keep sinking, his debut album 'Debut' was "top of the notch"

The problem with Dark Psy is when you listen yo someone over and over you realize it's the same sounds he's using, the same tricks so you get bored and you drop out

That's why Derango didn't release a second album LOL
