  1. Egypt is one of these countries where politics mean religion, a mix that is not easy to swallow. IMO, they will have to get used to a semi-democracy rulingh, for they will never have a true democracy because of that mix. The greatest danger is army taking over again. Israel would enter the stage then, no doubt.

  2. I think psy/goa, every electronic genre TBH, have not evolved. But have not "devolved" too. I said in another topic that I used to think in the 1990s what Goa would sound in 20 years time from then - in my imagination it would be so spiritualizes it would become sort of a religion, a philosophy, bring the best of young people who would listen to Goa. 20 years now, it is not even close to that. Worse, current Goa (with a few good exceptions) is dull and lost its energy.

  3. Thanks for sharing this. I really like Galaxy Unit's track. A big surprise!!! It's in my top three Goa tracks since 2010. Strong and energetic, it has a subtle Eastern melody that is Goa trance at its best. Its melody deserves a prize, it carries the second half of the track without that annoying multi-layering of highs and mids that are so popular in a lot of new school goa work. Hybrid FX also is very good for trying to sound different from what's out there, a little bit experimental, I would say. The rest of the tracks are a little bland, unfortunately.

  4. As I have had the "Radi Experience" close in another topic, I would like to say: no, don't stop posting. But you definetely should study more about anything you post. You should stop being addicted to the internet. You should read what you write, and see it from the perspective of the people who will read it. You should find a job. You should find a girlfriend. You should find real, flesh and bone, friends.

These steps won't guarantee anything. Everybody is subject to writing nonsense or lunatic things at any point of their lives, career. But not so often, as it's your case. Sincerely, I am starting to stop looking at your posts as "funny", and moving to "very unpleasant".

  5. Culture plays just a big a role. Just compare Sweden and Italy as an example. You'll find tons of melodic acts coming from both countries, but the Swedes tend to base their melodies on minor keys while the italians do the opposite. This is why I often tend to find southern european music super cheesy.

Procyon's opinion on the scene in Brazil doesn't surprise me at all. Most brazilians are of African descent, and thus have no tradition for elaborate melodies. They should be capable of programming some killer drums though...

Exactly Gaga. Making a long thought short, Brazilians (and other warm countries) tend to make melodies with short, but intensive, bursts, that are ultra-sweet. While melodies from the likes I cited above (Escandinavia, Low Countries, Germany, Japan) they tend to have longer, more elaborated melodies that "explode" in a more subtle, but powerful way. This is how Goa/psy, in the golden era, was built. What is modern bad full-on, as we know of, but a sequence of senseless melodies bursts over a powerful kick (you are right here again about Brazilian artists, but unfortunately you can't keep a dancefloor rocking solely on good kicks).

  6. I bother because I have discussed this at least twice in other forums, how weather, the quantity of sunlight in different regions of the earth affects artists. And I see it differently from you, and as this is a forum, I have a saying about that. Instead of writing papal bulas on this and that based on what you read and heard, you should travel and experience your "bulas".

  7. Man, in your own words: you haven't been outside Europe, which by any comparison is cold. Your latitudes "study" is a bullet in the water, as usual. Greece and Israel may be considered "warm" in comparison to Europe, but they're "cold" in comparison to Ecuatorian countries. As for your understanding of Japan weather, it's so wrong I don't even want to replicate that. A suggestion: take Brazil, South Africa and India and do study a little just the three of them to understand what I am saying. Also, Escandinavia, the Low Countries and Germany all have this dark side of harmonics, WHICH combined with their style of melody produced many many early goa classics, from X-Dream, SYB Nettwerk to more recently S-Range, to name a few. While these three warm countries have not produced goa/psy in the same scale of quality as Europe.

A sincere advice Radi: my opinion was solely towards music and its influence. I didn't step in the personal territory, as you did. You better step back and calm down.

  8. Radi: where exactly have you lived to express your opinions, other than Northern Europe? Where, by the way, you are not at all living in, in your own words. What I see is that you don't have enough knowledge and on THIS topic your opinion is biased. While mine is based on solid experience and it's not biased. Also, you need to study latitudes and climates more, it's clear you don't understand a thing about that.

Edit "where, by the way, you are not happy at all living in..."

  9. I disagree about the climate influencing the music the way it was described, for I have lived in two countries with completely opposite cultures and climates: Japan and Brazil. And I don't see how cold Japan had such marvellous acts such as Matsuri Productions, the refined melodies of tech-trance, goa and psy, while 300-sunny days Brazil had such bad taste music, Wrecked Machines one of them I mentioned recently. And Brazilian artists seem they can't build a true good melody sequence, they're only mediocre, in the electronic field, let me make it clear. I dare you point a single psy/goa Brazilian song with an awesome melody. IMO, what Radi said is quite the opposite: the colder the country the more instrospect the people, and their music tend to be richer, to express their hidden emotions. And vice-versa.

I think you are all a little bit confused about "being in a festival during summer in a hot country" while "dancing to goa/psy written in cold countries".

  10.

(I know that the sound is bad quality)

But again probably never released :)

My friend was there!!! Nagisa rocked this year! Banco de Gaia, Orbital, Kuro, AP - though this video confirms that AP show was drowned by high and mid freqs, you can't hardly hear the kicks.

  11. I say I am a happy man. I'd give my life a 10. Perhaps not according to some. But we may have different points of view, I am happy because I value the things I have - I am healthy, I can eat everyday, I have a place to live, I have friends and family, I have someone who takes care of me, I have two dogs who adore me. And I believe in God, this alone is a endless source of comfort and happiness. And when I start feeling I am not that happy, God shows me that I am indeed. Just like this last Saturday, when an old, fragile man came to my door, asking for food and water. After I helped him, it made me think of how many other people like him is out there, suffering a true pain. I am blessed.

  12. @blubber: I disagree with your saying that old schoolers narrow the definition of "good parties" to Goa music only. Back in the 1990s, I had been to wonderful full-on and tech-trance parties. But the end of the 2000s leveled everything down for every psy and goa subgenre. That is why I saíd it's hard to find atmospheric parties nowadays, no matter what subgenre.
