  1. Is it ok on Isratrance to post dreadful review?

By dreadful, you mean devastating, negative ones or just dreadful like typing 10 times "awesome" for selling a cd

According to the case, i know they fully agree with, for the other they could be a lil reluctant

  2. Ok i'll start with those who have been already quoted in the topic & are probably the most famous artist in the genre:

The Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences

Shpongle - Are You Shpongled ?

    Entheogenic - Entheogenic

i mention the 1st one as its the debut one but indeed i could have choosen too the remix album or their second opus too.

    Ott - Hallucinogen in Dub

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Hydroponic Garden

    Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation

Mainly the second cd of course, even i'm not fond of all tunes but the first 4 ones plus Blue Galaxie at the end of 1st cd are quite amazing!

Now let's continue with a bit less known projects :

    Galaxy - Science Of Ecstasy

the Boris Blenn Chill side, this album was on Chillcode

    Taruna - World Fusion

exotic & warm coloured psychill released on S.S.T

Abakus - That Much Closer to the sun

Liquid Stranger - The Invisible Conquest

The project of a former Necton member which was always connected & inspired, influenced with Dub even in his Necton's tune, released on Interchill.

    Chilling Matenda - Mediteran

I remember peple were quite shared about it, but i consider the album name caracterizes correctly what Denis wanted to do here musically & even for some it's too loungy or housey sounding, i found it out quite genuine for the style :clapping: ; released on Global Phonehead records (Matenda's own label).

Kick Bong - A Cup of Tea?

One of the few french genuine chill producer, this one is his debut album on Ultra Vista, sounding darker to the psychill norm.

    Human Blue - Diskovery Channel

Wasn't amazed at first when listening, it only grows on me much later on with time...released on Chillcode.

Kaya Project - & so it goes

It's probable he's done other or better chill album before this one, but i'm fond of the electic influenced direction taken here, very acoustic also, released on Interchill.

Kuba - How The future Sounded

With Kuba , honestly i've heard some cheesy stuffs from the guy on compilations & was quite suspicious about how he could cook a good album...

This one is pretty ok for me :posford:

I finish with Ganja Beats - Paradise & Tranquility

released on Organic, this one is a bit special for me as Jake Stephenson passed out soon after the release. I was sad coz the artist never benefits of a big notoriety despite some good tracks he produced by the past including Indiggo Egg's collaboration. And strangely for this chil-dub emotionnal album, very good for me, it was the same, very few feedback all over the boards...

EDIT Not sure it's fully considered as psy chill never mind, i think back to Jens Buchert with his down tempo release on Plusquam Fruit Machine which was quality material :clapping:

  3. I didn't take a look by here, nice to have some news from Children & it's funny to see old pics in her goa period from Lass 22

Indeed retrospectively from what i remembered of the last posts at that time from Children, they were nearly all in the off topic section, all focused about a girl he had met recently :clapping: , so all seems quite logical today about his sudden vanishment B)

  4. meh, doesn't hold a candle to

(BEST Bonzai release of all times!!!) ;)
    Each one his taste ;)

Indeed my favourite Bonzaï tune isn't well known it's BWP Experiments - Feel House of E, somehow sort of acid dark ambient technoïd, not the usual Bonzaï sounding for sure

    :clapping:

Otherwise (excepting already quoted Montini II-Astrosym), from Bonzaï i dig on:

    - Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance,

    - Yves Deruyter - Calling Earth (2002 remix)

    - Dj Francky Jones - Overwhelming Rain

    - Groove Park - Hit The bang

    - Hitch Hiker & Dumont - A New Dimension

    - Axis - Come On

& of course Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth

  5. Artha album will be hopefully released before this year is over.

Michal is working on it, and I can promise you it's going to be amazing :)

Before the album, we will release a free-to-download ep with 4 tracks (Anakoluth style) to make you drool a bit before the real album is out.

I can speak for myself (and Cronomi actually) that this is a big issue. After all, everything has to be paid for. This is coming from my own hard-worked-for money (physical work at summer 40c in the dead sea) because the label is making zero profit. I didn't even pay all of the artists unfortunately, although I hope to sort this out soon. The good thing is that People Walk Funny sold in the first 2 months since the release the same amount of all-time sales of Freshly Cut Tomato. It's still not a lot though. Maybe some more reviews for this compilation could help, since it's impact on the internet is almost non-existing (and that's not something I can control myself - it's the fans).

I really hope that with the Artha release I will finally start earning some money from this little adventure I took upon myself, because I really need the money for life instead of paying for mastering and stuff. As a side note - if you still didn't buy any Cronomi releases - now is a good time :) . It will really help getting both Artha and PortaMento releases out to the world.

Another thing - personally in the last year I have been so out of the scene, having started my university studies so I can barely keep myself updated on what's happening. I'll check out some of the names here and get it from Beatspace, to have something to listen to while working out those equations.

    That's a crucial point.

Since 3 years, the number of releases haven't decrease, there's new labels created appearing from numerous & various geographic places.

In the same time, sales didn't raised.

Worse, some years ago most of interesting productions & even the other ones were reviewed more or less quickly.

Today even some established labels, have difficulties to get feedbacks on the trance boards & get some kind of coverage for their work which are always interesting & constructive, in order to see the eventual gap between what the label & artist(s) think have done & how people perceived it.

When you check the "request a review " thread here or on Isratrance , you've got the same idea that people are demanding, & most of time they don't get results...

  6. McKenna is a great storyteller. For me, psytrance is music that really takes me somewhere. It ignites the imagination. And so does a scientific approach to studying the natural world. Rational does not mean plain or boring; reality is far more interesting than a lot of us give it credit for.

Indeed a good psytrance stuff should be story stelling all by itself without any help of any substances, according to me :) .

Somehow music is the tool :posford:

  7. you can check some french group like Hilight Tribe or Secret Vibes they're producing 'natural trance', there's lot of acoustic instrument & percussions.

There's some highly hypnotic tunes from Jess M - Digidelica which plays didgerdoo, i remember the track coitus which was sounding highly tribal trance.

  8. anything goa psy related I already know or don't want to :D ,

some people indeed didn't catch the phrase,

my fault, should be more specific on an international forum

regular trance, < 2000 trance I guess, I think that is what I'm looking for,

warm sound, no psychedelic sounds coming from everywhere

melodic, probably experienced as more repeating...

no voices that's why I said < 2000, well no voices, not all voices that's better ;)

    score, very nice,

  9. I'm surprised by the numerous home cats answers here probably the topic is just a bit young & things will evolve nevertheless i'm a house cat too coz there's very few parties in my town (not say none) & i enjoy more the outdoor concept otherwise.

  10. Yes great year so far but i guess this will not go on this way. Sales are not so good so i think most or even all new labels that showed up this year will give up again because of making losses with releasing...

Btw next Phototropic release will be again a compilation, va artificial sun, and second amithaba and second pandemonium album are also waiting for release.

Unfortunately i have to agree with you , the economical context isn't marvellous & so many goa release coming out so close from to the others, this niche market seems to be really saturated currently according to its potential capacity.

Or at least i wish for them all it's the sign of a goa period rebirth, let's see, future will tell us... <_<

  11. First album of Slug is a great representation of his banging funky full-on sound. It seems more original than most full-on these days. And of course it gets repetitive by the end - so recommended to listen in small doses.

Favourites: Paradise Lost, Russian Salad, Lose Your Shell and On The Floor.

I agree Slug is probably the most under estimated South African atist we've got whereas he's got without doubt at the same time the SA trademarks & an apart soundscape hitting radically with his colleagues.
  12. Interesting post about the Japanese scene.

As said Late concerning labels excepting 6 Dimension soundz which is still alive, the others aren't healthy or stopped their activities , i mean Groove-Zone, Solstice Japan, Elf Music.

Don't know too much how is going S.S.J, seems they weren't very active these last years too.

I also think about Tod Aqurius rec but it was a quite small entity with few releases & isn't really representative of the Japanese scene; btw no news since the Chamar's album.

  13. didnt knew that ferbi boys was guys from sesto sesto!interesting! since i appreciate more ferbi then sesto

indeed Gataka is Matan Kadosh (older member) & Ferbi Boys (Aviram Saharai & Itai Spector).

assaf Spector, i guess the brother of Itai Spector made one tune on SST under "Respector", the style is similar to Ferbi Boys perhaps even more techno btw i just remind Sesto Sento released an EP on SST "The year 83" which sounds more Ferbi Boys than normal Sesto Sento, it also appears on v/A Mamon The Dark Star same as Respector's tune.

  14. New to Sesto... but want to check em out

Need to know where to start...sooooo

Fans --- what is the best album? (or maybe the essential albums)

    Thanks everyone

    PsyON

I enjoy their 2 first albums "The Inner Light" more groovy-proggy perhaps & 'The Bright side' more full on, then i stopped listening to their productions.

My first musical encounter with the band was their first track to be released : Soap Bubble" on a v/A from USTA "New Frontiers".

I advice to discover them in the order of releasing

    1) Soap Bubble track released on V:A New Frontiers from USTA

    2) The Inner Light album on Com.pact

3)The Bright Side album on Com.pact

Otherwise (excepting the previously quoted), my favourites Sesto's tunes are:

-Sesto Sento vs Lish - Tuna (sometimes credited Tanua) on Final Fantasy/Com.pact

-Sesto Sento vs intergalactic - Smooth on Cosmopolite/Com.pact

-Sesto Sento - Sestosentos (Star X remix) on Natural Waves of Sound/Com.pact

-Sesto Sentos - Sabastel Tunnels (Lish Remix) & Lish - Brain Rush (Ferbi Boys* remix) both on Airgate/Com.pact

*Ferbi Boys is normally just one third of Sesto sento but here according to the credits, the 3 guys were together for the remix...

Ferbi Boys project is more techno influenced.

Also "Blue Leprechauns" on eponymous compilation/Com.pact
