  1. interesting...

So obviously IDM isn't as bad as I always thought.

    +1

    that's what i thought too !!!! psychedelic-IDM !!!! didn't know it exists

  2. If you like Kettel you should definitely check out the first three Plaid albums (in many cases, Kettel has lifted freely and unabashedly from Plaid), Not for Threes, Rest Proof Clockwork and Double Figure. Their later stuff gets increasingly more abstract and choppy, like Autechre. Also give Isan a try, like the album Meet Next Life. And maybe take a look at the other Sending Orbs label artists.

You'd probably like Bola a lot, as a lot of people here do, since it's pretty psychedelic and melodic, but his affinity for dissonance throws me off, personally.

And of course you'll get a nice variety of similar stuff if you load Kettel into Last.fm and/or Pandora.

    P.S. It's "My Dogan".

    :P

    thanx for info...

  3. so i've already went through half of this thread to find out about some IDM albums that i might like...but thought maybe i should ask for it too, so although i know you guys might have responded to this thread already but your help would be appreciated...

i got introduced to IDM by listening to aphex twin and boards of canada....i really liked BOC and aphex is also fine (some really good tracks) but i didn't get into it after listening to these two

after a while i listened to some of Ulrich Schnauss' albums and loved it because of the trippiness, but when asked one of my friends who's really into IDM and DnB for similar artists, he gave me couple of albums which weren't psychedelic at all IMO, and i lost interest

recently, i listened to Kettel - My Dragon, and i think it 's an AMAZING album....very trippy, just the way i want my music to be (and btw, what an artwork)

i was wondering if you guys could recommend some, let's say, melodic and/or psychedelic IDM :)

I initially bought this album on the strength of Leraine (a collaboration with Kettel) but I was disappointed & didn't listen to it again for a long time.

Stupid Stupid Stupid that's what I was. Plain Stupid!!! Although this is what usually happens with me, with this album I can't help but feel like I've missed out on a few months of pure joy just becasue I didn't pay enough attention to it the first time round. As when I gave this another try, this time alone & undistracted in bed it just blew me away. Since then I have listened to it again & again & again and I still discover new intricacies as well as more fully understanding the big picture. If it was a woman I'd try to take it to bed. I'd want to marry it & give it half my stuff. I just hope (& I'm pretty sure it wont happen) that I wont get bored of this in the future after listening to it too much & want to get a divorce & send it packing!

Anyway the story is about a dying man & his journey through the afterlife realm of Sanda.

    Enjoy

I don't know if I got this story how it was meant to be told as this is a game of Chinese whispers and the story is different on every retelling. There are no favourite chapters. It's a story that needs be heard as a whole to be fully understood.

    great review abasio...thX

the best album that i've been introduced to in this forum.....wi sh i could find an original copy

amazing album, great artwork, can't get enough of it...solid 10/10

  5. I feel lonely, the only ones I know are Abasio, Snapinho and well that's about it others are ofc into some ambient/chill but not as their main genre. It's hard to discuss the subject with so few really into it. But it doesn't matter sooner or later everyone is going to realize that it's in downtempo the real journey lies... :wank:

    +1 :wank:

i'm a new ambient fanatic member of this forum !!!! :D
