  1. Oliver Lieb is probably my alltime favourite trance producer, he's made hundreds of tracks, and 99% of them are quality. I've only been into trance since atound 2000, but I've spent most of the last year or so searching out old releases from the nineties, as they're simply much better then what's released today. Most of the old releases are difficult to get hold of though. :(

At least I've been able to get my hands at all the L.S.G. albums, and they are some of the highest rated cds in my collection. B)

  2. Hmm, I didn't know Hallucinogen remixed Aliens. What I know is that the version on A Voyage Into Trance 2, which is in its full version is 6:21 long. The version on #1, which I prefer is mixed. Damn, I need to figure this out.

And again, thanks for the tips. ;)

  3. You're totally right, Echoplexing is a great tune (haven't heard the FEOS mix though). They don't make trance like that anymore. :(

Resistance D were one of the great early trance projects, along with L.S.G., Union Jack, Blue Amazon, Sunday Club etc. Those were the days!

  4. I just noticed after listening to A Voyage Into Trance #1 and #2 (#1 is mixed while #2 is unmixed) that cd1 on both compilations has Total Eclipse - Aliens on the tracklist. However, the tunes on the two cds are totally different. IMO the version on #1 is the better one, so does anyone know if there's a mislabel or what?

  5. From what I understand "goa" is more melodic than psy, and has what you can call "eastern influences". It's probably better to give examples, ie Hallucinogen - LSD (goa) and Muses Rapt - Spiritual Healing (Psy). Sometimes theres a thin line though, so you can't always know whether a track is psy or goa.

The impression I have is that most music made today is psy, while there were more goa back in the nineties.

  6. Infected Mushroom groundbreaking? ROFL!

IM are probably some of the most boring psy-trance out there, and I'm not just talking about their latest stuff. Every tune I've heard from them makes me sleepy. The only positive thing I can say about them is that they're not as bad as Skazi.

  7. I like the bassline from Phony Orphants - Horny Enphants alot. I think it is the repetive, and the monotous feeling, that makes it brilliant..

After listening to the tune I can see what you're talking about. Most powerful bass I've heard in a while. :)

  8. I really hope that this album will be released asap, so that Simon can turn his attention to the Eat Static vs Hallucinogen album. That's what I'm looking forward to. But with Twisted's usual release delayments I prolly shouldn't get my hopes too high...

  9. AP - people can fly.

Many other tunes've got great build-up/breakdown, but this one just stuck in my mind.  It's as if the whole universe stops when David Ducovny (sp?) starts yepping "when you dream"  I think this is the same reason so many peeps remember this tune.

I second that, this tune is something special. And seraph, I must say you have really good taste in music! B)

  10. i dont like this album at all, it lacks of depth,, sounds to me like any average israeli project.... that is for most of the album 90% i have cool little moments...

I agree, don't get what's the big deal about this album. All tracks sound the same, and I couldn't even stand to listen to the entire album. I can just conclude that full-on is definately not my style of goa.

Comparing this with old-school is pretty far-fetched. This doesn't even come close to the great artists of the mid nineties - all IMO of course.
