1. As the year is coming to an end, what tunes have stood out in 2004 the way you see it? Personally I must admit that I don't think it has been a very good year for psy/goa, although I have yet to hear albums like Filteria - Sky Input and X-Dream. So, what have I missed?

  2. ASTRIX - He is pretty skilfull producer even though he does tend to get into cheese. He has some really nice tunes beside some non sense he released.

I hate most full-on released today, but I heard one tune from Astrix not very long ago which I liked:

    Astrix vs Delirious - Daydream

What other tracks by Astrix would you recommend?

  3. not difficult, i voted Sweden :)

    battle of the future buddhas

    atmos

Agree with you there, Sweden definitely has the best artists atm. England and France were probably better in the oldschool period though.

  4. But if they really like that music I can't understand them at all.

Hey, people like Scooter and even Britney Spears, so I'd say Yahel isn't the worst you can listen to after all....

  5. He's always been cheesy in the worse possible way!  He and other isralie Cheese artists are the ones partly or maybe mostly responsible why this scene is so horrible "Candy" today!  They and their music attracted a lot of ravers from the rave Candy Scene. You know.  Scooter people ;-)

There's nothing wrong with different people but today the scene is mostly made up of those silikone bimbos and fake tan bodybuilder boys.

A shame in my opinion!  This is thank to the many cheesy artists releasing their cheesy crap from 1998 till today!

the original vision and ide of this scene is longe gone. Today it's nothing but a fashion show suppoted by KILaaaarrrr people.

Come to think of it I agree with you 100%. Yahel has a couple of decent tracks made some years ago, but most of his work is shit. And "Voyage" must be the most overrated tune ever.

  6. It's not like this is something new, Yahel has turned to cheese long time ago. And Sugar 1 is from 2002, so that doesn't really say much about how his music is today. My guess is that it's become even worse though.

  7. This is exactly the reason why "psychedelic" trance and "psychedelic" ambient are so lame these days. Look past the boundaries of genre and label and you will find lots of great psychedelic music.

Agreed. I see no reason why people can't post reviews about non-psychedelic music in here, it can actually be a nice break when you get tired of listening to the same genre all the time. Personally I think your reviews are very interesting seraph, keep them coming! :)

  8. I like Astralasia, especially the old stuff, but their last release "Something Somewhere" was also good although more club trance style.

"Whatever Happened To Utopia" is probably my favourite album, ambient-trance at its best. Astralsia was truly some of the best producers of this kind of music back in the oldschool period.

  9. Yeah I have that feeling too...  :)  If you don't have fav artist then...DON'T reply! it's that easy  :)

It's pointless to write dozens of artist if the question was to tell only the best  ;)

    206605

<_< Alright then, if I'm only supposed to write down one: Hallucinogen. ;)

  10. Subcouds - On Red

    Ree K. - Kage

    Miranda - Gnocchi

Man With No Name - Teleport (Acceleration Mix)

    Transwave - The Rezwalker

    Oforia - Uplifter

    Hallucinogen - LSD

Astral Projection - People Can Fly

    Dimension 5 - Moon Cake

    Blue Planet Corporation - Lubiantia

Johann - New Kicks (Goa Mix)

    Underhead - Whirlrain Of Fire

Koxbox - Too Pure (TIP Remix)

    X-Dream - The 5th Dimension

    Slinky Wizard - The Rising

And of course many more that I can't think of atm. :)

  11. But he also remixed heaps of stuff and I can call him best remixer ever. His best remixes are : Disco Volante - Moon Raker ( MWNN Rmx ), Art Of Trance - Octopus ( MWNN Rmx ), Eat Static - Bony Incus ( MWNN Rmx ), Infernal Machine - The Loin King ( MWNN Rmx ), Juno Reactor - Pistolero ( MWNN Rmx ), Cygnus X - The Orange Theme ( MWNN Rmx ), Juno Reactor - Jardin De Cecile ( MWNN Rmx )Quietman - The Sleeper ( MWNN Rmx ), Three Drives On Vinyl - Greece 2000 ( MWNN Rmx )...so this guy really knows how to make good music...Respect !

Agree with you there, in addition to those you mentioned I also find his remix of C.M. - Dream Universe and the remixes he did for Grace on the Perfecto Label very good. As for his own tunes my favourites are probably Floor Essence, Vavoom and Teleport, but there's lots of other good stuff too. His tracks may sound similar in style, but there's nothing wrong with that as long as that style is good IMO.

  12. What's with the instinctive hatred of all full-on releases? Sure it's often pretty straight forward, already-done-before stuff but it doesn't have to be bad just because of that.

    204098

Still it's a way from there to "best track ever", don't you think? When you remix a classic like Dancing Galaxy the result should be a little better than everyday boring full-on, at least IMO. In fact, the track is probably best left untouched.
