Radish6404 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 So my Canton GLE 90 are very loud, I feel the vibration of the music on my clothes and on my body when I listen to them with me Denon amp at 55 percent. The floor is vibrating, t and the speakers can go higher than the amp can, but sometimes I feel the wish of more. I think to feel really a lot of vibrations on the clothes you need speakers with two 30 cm Bassdriverrs, not with two 20 cm Bassdrivers, as my Canton have. Listening to music at high volume isr eally awesome. When everything vibrates, the clothes, and the body. What do you think? I think normal bookshelf monitors are not able to create an atmosphere of a party with vibrations on the clothes. Quote
abasio Posted Thursday at 05:05 PM Posted Thursday at 05:05 PM Nothing sounds as good as good speakers with a good source, most people don't seem to understand the need for both. If your amp can't keep up with your speakers, you might want to upgrade your amp so it can drive them properly. My father in law has some Bowers & Wilkins 800s but was running them practically unamped 💥 💥 💥 I got him the Classé Delta and boom! What a difference! Quote
Radish6404 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago My amp is loud, but not very loud. Also my amp is a goood source and the real source is my Creative Labs Audigy FX v2 soundcard. My amp can drive the speakers loud, but not very loud. When I turn up the volume to 60 percent, I feel the vibrations of the bass on my clothes, but my speakers probably can endure a volume of 85 percent. Quote

Radish6404 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago An amp that can drive them prperly costs 700 €, the Denon PMA1000 NE and my amp can drive them well enough for now. It distorts just at 60 percent or more. If i have money, I will upgrade and turn it up to 85 percent, I guess the whole house will shake and the speakers will be just before distorting. Quote
abasio Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago There's no point buying anything you cannot drive properly. Either buy an proper amp or easier to drive equipment, whichever is best for your budget. Quote
Radish6404 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I said that I know which amp can drive my speakers properly. I think that you did not understand me well. I bought this amp just at the time i bought the expensive speakers in hope that it can drive emy speakers well enough. But I realized it could not. And by the way, Driving speakers well enough is only important for the maximum volume, all amps will sound the same to speakers they can´t drive at high volumes at normal volumes. Quote
abasio Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago That’s not really accurate. Amps don’t just matter at max volume – they also differ in how well they control speakers at normal listening levels, especially when the speaker impedance dips. The GLE 90s are fairly efficient, and the Denon PMA-1000NE should already have more than enough power for them in most rooms. If it doesn’t sound right, it’s more likely down to room setup, placement, or expectations than the amp being 'unable to drive' the speakers." Quote
Radish6404 Posted 33 minutes ago Author Posted 33 minutes ago Well, the Denon PNA 1000Ne will have enough power to drive the speakers at mx volume, but the PNA600NE, which i have now, does not have. So I have to get up to it and wait, til I have the money, to change to the PNA 1000NE. Quote
