The earth's shadow fell on a very small part of the moon for a short time, approximately 27 mins, visible only on the eastern hemisphere, from eastern Europe and Africa across the Middle East eastward to southeast Asia and western Australia. It was one of the shallowest and shortest partial eclipses of this century. Still two other lunar eclipses will take place in May 25th and October 18th this year. Veracohr Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 I think I remember a solar eclipse when I was a kid. I seem to remember being on the playground at school and seeing that weird-colored light that results. Of course, I could be completely imagining it. Perhaps I should check if there was a solar eclipse visible in the NW United States somewhere between 1985 and 1987. That would be the most likely age.
