Listen to [Planet BEN] "Welcome to the future", [X-dream] "irritant" + [Ticon], [son kite], this is minimal. Both are psytrance for me, Astral projection, Man with no name, Miranda, Etnica are more goa trance than psytrance, but Pleiadians is melodic full on... that's my opinion... Guest spacemonkey Posted September 7, 2003 Share Posted September 7, 2003 like said by others, full-on used to be the term to describe psy-trance in general, and then minimal came and full-on was used for psy-trance that wasn't minimal. nowadays it seems that full-on is the term used for music with high BPM hard beats and stuff, like that (gms and such) and full-on has become the name of a subgenre. i dont follow the trends anymore and listen only to oldschool or finnish australian trance or other genres so my comments might be completly untrue..................... These days full-on seems to describe filled-out minimal music (the response to all the bitching about minimal when it was really popular) with a big, fast beat and loads of sound effects rather than melodies. Guest SPEEDFREAKS(SLSK) Posted September 8, 2003 Share Posted September 8, 2003 WHAT i'd say is that psytrance is a genre of trance that mix the eletronic beats from trance with the psychedelic tunes and effects... full on is a sub genre of psytrance trax with high bpm 143+ with pumping basslines twisted samples and very very weird effects... just like darkpsy, like darksoho, darknebula, xenomorph and whatever, is full of scary spooky evil sounds that freak you out... each style in psytrance has its own details... but what i really think about all this is that all u dumb fucks should stop complaining about psytrance and its tendencies... if u dont like where it is going to start doing your on fucking music and stop talking shit in the forums... if u like old music open a fucking museum and keep on hearing your old school fucked up tunes and sounds... everything in life develops to something grater it only depends on you... since trance depends on the minds of shit heads just like y'all complainers we are fucked... and thats also what's been going on for too long and is starting do cause de scene decay... u keep on complaining about all this crap and keep on not doing shit and i just dont need to tell y'all where this all is gonna stop.. peace! try enjoying life and the good music we have... soon enough we are not gonna have more parties and this good trance to hear thankfully to all this crap and all the dumb fucks in this scene... and for all the people like this lick my nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But in basic, its all Psytrance. __[ My own view of psytrance and my own opinion about some genres and styles within psytrance ]__ __[ Full-on ]__ is a new born style combined some fast goa tempo with a more aggressive base and more trippy sounds to give the sound more atmosphere. not much melodies but freaky sounds and great beat. Artists like: Psyside, Space buddah, Talamasca, Fungus Funk, Exaile, Neuromotor __[ Progressive ]__ The stomp in this kind of style is often a bit slower than normal and everything is saved for the last 2 mins in the song. They intend to play longer with a sound than in analoge psy and dont have as much events either. Artists like: Son kite, Ticon, Bitmonx, Metalogic, Tegma __[ Fast Progressive ]__ This own defined style of decent combined techno and progressive is faster than progg but not as monotone as techno. Often quite "dirty" sound and industrual atmospheres. Artists like: Source Unknown, Authentic, The Delta __[ Analoge Psy ]__ This is a own define for a style of psytrance that is widely spread and one of the most popular sound to new "regular" psytrance artists. Artists like: Fractal Glider, Gms, Fatali, Alien project, Logic Bomb __[ Dark psy ]__ This is also own define for a style of the more dark psy that is coming more and more, this is also one of my favorite kind of psy. The atmosphere is dark and meant to be evil, if not dark evil and twisted and exelent for tripping =) Artiste like: Midi miliz,The Delta, Opsis, Menog, Pps Project, Neser D.N.A, Quirk, Spriallianz __[ Trippy Psy ]__ well this kinda defines itself this is real twisted shit and only the most trained ear can make this noize into music.
