Guest PsyKick
Shpongled: No, no ,no! Time signatures are meant to discribe what a MEASURE contains! Triplets and quintuplets (as well as 16th notes) discribe what a BEAT contains. Example: 4/4 means: 4 beats in a MEASURE (each beat = a forth note) Triplets means: 3 notes (of same values) within a BEAT Horrogram uses the 4/4 signature from the beginning till the end. It starts with TRIPLETS that slowly "morph" into 16th notes later on.
Guest Quazzi
Hey, i've been thinking........ isn't there something fishy going on in the IM's track Return of the shadows??!! That part when the music stops and comes that crazy sound and the beat kicks in i don't seem get the first beat right, it seems that it comes too late. Does anyone noticed this also? :-)
shpongled
Ok thanks PsyKick............. but for some reason... when people are talking triplet psytrance tracks they always say 3/4....... (well ok the reason is because there is number 3 in it.. ). I think that has confused me too...... but now i know... thanks.
shpongled
One more thing... does anyone know some tracks that are in quintuplets (beat divided 5) ? Any electronic music like that?

Guest soliptic
>> Yeah, I know what you are talking about. He uses the same trick in the hallucinogen track called horrorgram isnt yup i tried it myself once... its really difficult i made it so that at bar 16 the beats were the first thing, and at bar 32 they were the second, and over the 16 bars in between, the beats shifted by the same amount each bar (ie, a linear morph)... it sounded rubbish... it seemed to barely change for about 6 bars, then quickly jump in a couple of steps over the next 4 or 5, and then barely change again at the end. it seems all the subtlety of the morphing is actually in a certain place - you need a logarithmic/curved morph..... at this point i decided it was too hard, i should leave it to the master

Any electronic music like thats I've done a track in 5/4, and there are a reasonable few other people who have (people like red snapper, the ozrics, and so on, tend to play with time sigs more than most bands)... i dont about any with each beat consistently divided into quintuplets though!
