Review:

I really love this album with a horrible cover. PRAYER along with MANDRAGORA

are like an amazing ceremony describing what you are about to experience:

ANCESTRAL TRIBAL DRUMS MEETING THE FUTURE. Sioxpernature its awesome and very

energetic. I really like the breakbeats at the end of it. Then some ancient

chanting to mellow in SLIPSTREAM, because WIZARDS BREW its going to give new

energy to the ritual. The last three tracks describe the end of the night and

the rise of the sun. THE JOURNEY ITS OVER. 9/10

With this exquisite production Medicine Drum ran into my heart so deep. The only

thing that disturbed me was the length of this CD-50:59.The music stuff is

awful great-starting the psycho journey with tracks like "Mandragora" and

"Siouxpernature".It develops soooo deep in "Slipstream"and "Wizards Brew".Then

blows your mind with gems like "Alpha Return" and "Water".The magic ends with

this exciting ambient track-"12-12".Tribal drums and computerized harmonies

melt together.Just an incredible package of music!

Maybe the best Tribal Goa-music ever made!! This is not for on hard parties,

this is for listening while you're relaxed... Then the CD will take you on a

journey... It'll take you to the Jungle of Borneo, it will take you to

waterfalls and desserts far away from this world!!

Magical piece of work!! Unfortunately Medicine Drum couldn't make such great

music anymore after this one was released!! So when you see this, BUY BUY

BUY!!! Bom Shankar

no-ones mentioned it here but the CD also has an enhanced bit on the end that

you can play on your computer which is probably why the CD appears to be so

short.

Chris Deckker's & Co (Andy Guthrie, C.Smith) endeavour to bring some "tribal

trance electronica" for us to experience (by the way, Andy Guthrie is also the

man behind Banco De Gaia & Funkopath projects, among others). And there are

definitely plenty of emotions to unfold even considering those 5 years that

passed since this album's release. I won't call it the best tribal GOA yet

made, whatsoever, but I like it for its originality & sincerity. This kinda

music is all about travelling: just like with Up, Bustle & Out :) , D&B-etnic

band, the general concept & the way it works stays the same (I guess so),

while the method its content is being transmitted to listener's mind differs

quite a bit. Also I consider Medicine Drum sequel album, Talking Stick, being

not below the standarts this one sets. So, to conclude: 8/10 is well-deserved

here. Tchankov I.V.
