Review:

 

It seems that DJ Alex have deicded since Tantrance 11 to

deliver us,in all his comp, one disc for progressive (first

one) and the second for minimal or psychedelic trance.

Seeing Dienzephalon on the tracklist wasn't a good news for

me coz till this track i wasn't fond of their work. I have

to say that Elektroakupuntur is a honest track , the best

i 've heard from this group but it's not a brainblasting

one. In fact, it sounds a bit more trancey even if it still

contains these habitual strange sounds from this group.

Reduction is a great tune with a metallic sound delivering

the melodie and sometime little percu appears ,it

oscillates between groovy techno and happy trance.

Next one is from Marco menichelli (aka Sun Project, Slap,

Ouija), and it's like Slap without a good ryhtmic and

inspiration, so it becomes quickly boring.

I advice you to skip Ballroom, i still don't understand why

DJ Alex continue to fill his comp with this bullshit,

there's nothing in this track and a guy sing a little.

Carbon kick is one of these tracks which have a slow

construction and where sounds arrives one after another,

not a revolution but efficace with a little melody which

sounds asian coz comes from a kind of vibraphone.

Short circuit is a soft jerky melocic track, very nice.

Skydiver is an emotionnal trance register which could be

something like the mystery or the suspense. It would be a

good music for a thriller. Quarz give a mecanic atmosphere

at his track with a sample of an old machine.

cd1 ends well with Gabriel Le Mar , with a good track that

don't appears on his album project named Dub Connected.

As i said before,Cd2 is minimal, and i'm not very much in

it. But I can tell that from Tegma till Intact

Instinct ,the tracks are well ordonanced and contributes to

help me to appreciate more all these stuffs; with a

particuplar mention to P-Woland with the tribal Slap My!

and D-Foundation aka Detlef Funder(4 carry nuts) with a

dark melodic psychedelic track.I skip motorman.Then arrive

cold and minimal with Ode to Arcadia.Next is a dado remix

of POP, i skip it and prefer the original.Cd2 ens with

Space.COM an honest trach of Planet BEN in a robotic

atmosphere.

So i give 7,5 on 10 to the complitation.

IMO this has one problem: For a comp. named PULSE is just needs more...

ehhrm... Pulse!... For me this previously so great series is dead... The same

goes for Tantrance, Goahead & unfortunately also Distance To Goa... It's sad,

but they just don't do it for me anymore... Hopefully someday they'll rise

again! 3/10 for this one!

best tracks on cd1 are:2-6-7-9 and the worst :3-4-5.

rating cd1:5/10.best on cd2: 2-3-5-10 and worst :4-7-8-9. rating cd2: 4,5/10

rating compilation:4,5/10 (due to the awfull artwork).

singles....
