  1. For me, it was one of the most boring films I have ever seen plus I can't stand that american sweetheart Tom Hanks, even though he had some good roles... Robert Zemeckis has lost it with this film... and this is all IMHO yerg, so no offense... 3/10

  2. Certainly good stuff from Simon Berry, even though Claudio Giussani left, Paul Brogden continued with Berry on this one. And I like it a lot. Good cause he still hasn't get off the track. There is also new Art of Trance single called Swarm, pretty good as well. I hope he is going to release another Art of Trance album after 10 years of waiting.

We are talking about redefining psychedelic genre here. Amazing input by Richard D. James himself.

Maybe his most serious and tripped out work till this date. The most precise sound manipulation by now, mixing so many styles and genres, from ambient, breakbeat, electro, acid, techno, this EP's series is what music is all about.

Uncompromising melodies, twisted harmonies, as usual with Aphex, but this is so much more delicious. Perfect for all psychedelic headz. This is pure LSD music : wacky, psychedelic, deranged, calm, everything at once, mixed and stirred into perfect blend of sonic creme brulee...

Word cannot describe the alien states this guy is in all the time, and this series proves again that he is not joking with you only, as we would expect from him. Some of the tracks have pure musical genius behind, some are more twisted, some more broken, some strangely spiritual.

    The key tracks for me of all series are : STEPPINGFILTER 101, GRUMPY ACID, WHERE IS YOUR GIRLFRIEND ( ! ), PHONATACID ( !!! ), BOXING DAY, KLOPJOB, CRYING IN YOUR FACE ( !!! ), HOME MADE POLYSYNTH ( ! ), REUNION 2 ( !! ), CILONEN ( !! ), I'M SELF EMPLOYED, LISBON ACID, BACKDOOR.BERBEW.Q, BACKDOOR.SPYBOTER.A ( !! ), BACKDOOR NETSHADOW, FENIX FUNK 5 ( ! ), XMD 5A ( !! )...

No further explanations, just find, it, get your greasy ears on it, so much worth it. 10/10

  4. Repulsion

What a masterpiece! Now wonder why Polanski became famous after this movie.

Definitely a movie ahead of its time. Superb direction, superb script, superb acting, superb atmosphere.

    9/10

+ 1 plus Catherine Deneuve rulez in that film... :D

  5. If you've seen THE HOLY MOUNTAIN by Jodorowsky, check also his EL TOPO, as psychedelic as it could get.

Also, films like PERFORMANCE, ALTERED STATES, PINK FLOYD THE WALL, THX 1138, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH and the rest others mentioned.

  6. I also watched again all the Aliens.

Alien - One of the true cinema masterpieces.

    10/10

Aliens - Not as great as the original, but one of the best example of serious sci-fi action movie.

    8.5/10

Alien 3 - Mediocre, rushed movie. A huge dissapointment, although it has an interesting nihilistic feeling

    6/10

Alien: Resurrection - Bizarre, almost surreal sequel, with great casting and effects. From Jean-Pierre Jeunet the director of Amelie, City Of Lost Children and Delicatessen.

    7.5/10

    My pics would be :

    ALIEN - 9/10

    ALIENS - 10/10

    ALIEN 3 - 8/10

    ALIEN : RESSURECTION - 6/10

  7. I liked the third Alien movie the best. I liked the dirty, dystopian nature of it.

Agreed, but still second part owns it. Have you seen the director's cut of the third ? 25 more minutes added, even better than theatrical release...

  8. I have dloaded tideland years ago, but yet to see it.

Which other movies of him would u suggest?

    Anything else?

Ummm, that is Terry Gilliam. ;)

How about Gothic - a great movie imho.

Hah, yes, funny little film, but pretty good. :D

    I can suggest :

THE CROW ( Don't like it though, but it has such goth atmospehere )

DARK CITY ( I am sure you've seen it, amazing film )

NOSFERATU : PHANTOM DER NACHT ( 1979 Dracula movie, Werner Herzog, much more minimal than Coppolla's film )

THE ELEPHANT MAN ( I guess you know it, but still, recommended )

THE HUNGER ( Vampire bisexual fantasy starring Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie, pure gothic film )

HELLRAISER ( A bit clichee suggestion, but pretty good though, especially the first part )

  9. they've defined the genre only for others to improve it!

i have so much respect for both but defining the genre is not enough to be the best. they are respectable the way The Beatles are, but again same as The Beatles they are far from being the best IMO.

Yes, that all makes sense, and you are right, I was only referring to the discussion Time Trap had with someone comparing them. I would never compare the inventors among themselves, only with the ones that are improving the genre further. ( BTW, they ARE the top class wheter you like it or not, so yes, among best ) :D

  10. No doubt I CARE BEACUSE YOU DO and RICHARD D. JAMES ALBUM - most trippy, but also CLASSICS, SELECTED AMBIENT WORKS I & II are essential as well. His recent AFX - ANALORD series is incredible piece of work, almost beating all of the ones I've mentioned.

He is electronic genius, and completely non comparable to Autechre, since they are both highly prolific artists in IDM scene, the ones that defined the genre, so none of them are actually better than another, only as good. :D

  11. I just wish they didn't put Crystal since it is not one of my favourites. Would have prefered Xoco.

Whaaa > ? Crystal might have been one of his best tracks, but each to his own. Also, Xoco is great, but Crystal 'defines' it. :D

BTW, cover is really trippy... I don't just plan to buy it, but to get few copies, to give as presents cause this music itself and whole initiation of such compilation is the best present any real trancehead should get, young or old, this will be pure gold.

  12. Ugh, that is bad, I really liked his work with NINE INCH NAILS, but they went a bit down the drain and downward spiral themselves recently and haven't come up with an original album for years since The Fragile album, until these GHOSTS they released for free on the net last year. Was that a trip ! 2 hours of incredible avantguarde ambient/industrial/classical stuff. I find it as one of the better albums recently, so trippy and intelligent, probably their most serious work to date and it is all instrumental. I recommend it strongly for all those tripped out headz...

  13. I was bored to death, expecting ANYTHING to happen all the time, but got put down by ultimate realism and no sympathy for the main character at all. Huge let down from Aronofsky even though he said himself he wanted to make a small film. I don't fkkn care for sad life of distorted american empty headed aging wrestler. Ugh !

  14. The remixes that I find better than the original:

Kode IV "Near To The Divine" (Official Doof Mix)

Disco Volante "Forbidden" (After 8 Mix)

Technossomy "Elektron Bender" (Samsara Live Mix)

Art Of Trance "Octopus" (Man With No Name Rmx)

Disco Volante "Moonraker" (Man With No Name Remix)

Marmion "Schöneberg" (Man With No Name Remix)

The remixes that I found as well as the original:

    Shakta "Lepton Head" (Deedrah Remix)

Juan & Domi & Jörg "Spiritual" Healing (Remix)

Blue Planet Corporation "Antidote" (Pleiadians "Under The Roof" Remix)

    + 1

The once that were not mentioned yet that I like more then the originals:

Spiritual Healing Rmx is much better then the original imo

Chi-ad - Astral Warrior Rmx as well

MWNN - Big Troubles in Outer Space (Oforia Rmx)

    Etnica - Trip Tonite (Rmx)

Juno Reactor - Feel The Universe (Koxbox Rmx)

    + 1
