    is this right?

This should be fine for making music.

I had a much worse system for most of what I made.

For the soundcard, I recommend an old Delta-66, its what I use and its clean.

There are probably better soundcards, but you pay a high price.

Look on ebay for the soundcard.

  2. I make music because my professional job sucks, but I have to do it for money. I will reduce my working days soon from 5 to 4 days a week, inorder to produce a music that has a -8% sales factor ;)

I make music because it is an infinite challange and possibilities, and it is the infinite joy.

Why are you asking this question , man? Do I ask you why you breath?

I can relate to this, my job is a bore and doesn't use any (well 1%) of my brainpower.

I can got totally engrosed into making music and forget everything else.

I think after a year of not having a studio put together I was remembering why I first started.

  3. This thread is about why you make music.

I am curious about different answers on here, so please try to be as honest as possible.

    I will start this off:

I have always been interested in art mabe because my mom was an artist or because I went to alot of museums as a child.

In school I took art and did well, but it took me longer to draw a good scene then others and I could see I wasn't as talented as some others.

I also wrote poetry, but no one I knew read poetry on their own time so I don't try to write.

When I was in college, I started going to raves and after one I would dream that I was still at the rave and the djs got better.

So I bought a workstation and tried to re-create the sound in my head from those dreams.

Basically that is it. I feel as though I am super-picky about what kind of music I listen to and therefore couldn't leave the sound to someone else.

  4. Back in 2000 or 2001 I bought Logic Audio Silver for $400. and I think I used it three times before diching the damn thing for something simpler.

It had a diskette that allowed me to install it three times and with new computers/crashes that went fast...

I feel for you Auto, that sucks.

  5. Well I am listening to this (AGAIN!) and I love it to death.

It is the perfect album to listen to in the early morning.

I would certainly have paid money for this as it is top quality.

    Thanks Nemo and LSG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. When I was new at it I to started with the drums/percussion, but then I made a few 'songs' that I listened to afterward and thought  there is something missing

...oh, I forgot the melody music is rythem and melody and you better get that straight in your mind before you spend hours fiddling with just the right kickdrum.

So now I think of an origional melody or riff and get that recorded and build my song or music or art from there.

Not so easy to be origional with a melody, but with patience and not being afraid to try new stuff it is quite rewarding when you get an origional pattern.

I must also warn you it is downright hard work. Mentally hard that is. I take lots of brakes and let myself 'cool off' with mindless activities like watching tv.

  7. they did?wasnt the SH201 they released?

    do you have a link?

The SH-201 is supposed to be a redo of the 101.

I liked the sound but I don't know how long its usable life would be.

ps they had to call it the 201 because its not analogue.

^Reznik, that pic is too glossy to be sexy.

  8. Here is an FYI :

Releases all sound the same because that is all labels will release at the time.

The different, unique sounds are not released usually because labels don't take chance on it.

    This is why genres stagnate.

  9. Hello rino, I love Zagreb its a beautiful city!

I just got this album. Overall I would say I like it.

I don't have any of the other albums from Koxbox so I have nothing to compare it with.

That is probably a good thing though.

I've only listened to it a few times, but I already know I like the last 5 tracks best with 'Side Affect' being my favorite.

The music is well produced and sounds quite well thought-out.

The first two tracks just don't do it for me, you could say they are so-so.

It is #5 that starts to get really good for me so I may end up skipping the first ones on later listens.

I hate long reviews so I am not going to discribe each and every track. Everyone has their own opinion anyway.

Overall I would give it 8/10
