Yes Stringtheory... that's exactly what i had in my mind too.
  2. Yeah... i'd say also Shponogen.
  3. Well The Broken Engine... can you put the Trip Tonight here, please?
  4. Btw... I'm not that '42'-dude up there although I'm Posford fan and have same umm... what's this called --> (---.elisa.omakaista.fi)
  5. Matt... that 42 thing comes from a book called The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams............. There is a computer that has been built to get an answer for meaning of the life... after meny years calculating it spits out the answer "42".
  6. I was pretty certain you ment mp3s by "the well known market problems", but didn't want to say my point before I was sure what you were talking about... and my point.... maybe there was not enough people interested in their music and that's why they had to close down.... or some other reason (there could be meny) but not only mp3s. It's very easy to blame mp3s because they are "bad" thing...... but was that really the reason? Did you hear it from them or was this your own conclusion?

I thought that "human evolution" was kinda funny at least... yes the sample sounds super cheesy but I like the idea of remixing classical music... actually I wish every CD would have one "special" track... there's still plenty of room for serious work.
  8. What were 'the wellknown market problems'?
  9. Heh... you don't sound very convincing....... does _everything_ work? If not.. tell what's out of order. I have sh-101 but i'm quite sure i don't want to sell/trade it. How about you... can you sell the MS-20?
  10. What is the condition of the MS-20?
  11. There is also that kind of groove you can't program (or you can but it's not that easy to make it to sound natural)...... it happens when you play for example a keyboard.. the notes don't hit exactly on the beats but some milliseconds before/after.... it makes the track to "breath". If you put snare some milliseconds before the kick drum it sounds like the song is "rushing"... and if you put them after then the sound is "lazy". Then if you put them in turns first two snares before and then two snares after it sounds like it's breathing......... but I guess it's not that easy to make it sound good and it might work better for slow BPM tracks.
  12. Hmm... was very excited about their first release but for some reason i haven't listened much of it... maybe it's too disjointed. And now that new album sounds almost like pop music... it has way too much cheesy samples and singing (for my taste)... i think i'll pass.
  13. Echo's Mia and i like it! Ps. I have also read meny good things about RME. I would have bought some RME soundcard if I would have had more money.
  14. np: Bamboo Forest - Final Frontier
  15. Good to hear you got the CD Mike.... was it still in good condition?
  16. It would be fun to try to do something for the vocal...... can you send it to me and tell the BPM of the track? You know if then you liked what i did for the vocal and used it your track you would have some real Finnish touch in the track. )) shpongledboy@hotmail.com
  17. Veeeryyyyy weird track.. ....it has tight production. Stop calling your own work bad.. )
  18. Hmm... whitch track... isn't there at least two Beast tunes?
  19. > What do you mean with the folowing: >> You can use all of those but you have to tweak ADSR-envelope >> to make them fit for a sertain BPM. (ADSR = attack, decay, >> sustain, release) > I think that a lot of times the bass will be played on every > 16th note (don't know for shure). I know how to use the EG, > but how do you use them on your bassline? Ohh... I thought you were talking about making a kick drum sound and whitch note lenght to use when doing it. Anyway... in basslines you can use 16th notes or 8th notes.... or both to make the rhythm more interesting.
  20. - what kind of synth is used most of the time? There are meny synths (analogue and digital) that can create good bass drum sounds.... Here are some kicks that i made with Roland SH-101 analogue synth. - what time step is used, 1/8 notes or 1/16 and which length (1/64)? You can use all of those but you have to tweak ADSR-envelope to make them fit for a sertain BPM. (ADSR = attack, decay, sustain, release) - what kind of root notes are used, A1 or C1? It doesn't matter IMO.
  21. Very interesting and good posts.... I would also like to hear your artist name Dr. Downer.... it would give more perspective how hard it is to make a living out of music if we heard that even an artist like you can't make it.
  22. VST Instrument ratings
  23. I have some psy CDs whitch I don't listen anymore... check your mail.
  24. Ok.... I didn't like it either..................... but I was just commenting to "honest music making" thing you said.
  25. Elysium... if Infected guys likes music like Dream Theatre (prog rock with hectic male vocals) and they have tried to include their own vocals in their music also before then I would think they were pretty excited to work with Israel's best(?) rock/pop singer. Just quessing...
