...since we're on the self-plugging tip also have a look at Organic Record's releases over the last 3 or 4 yearsgood answer StraydoG, also Talamasca is a good idea.
Speaking for myself, if you ask for some melodic stuff, have a look on http://www.suntriprecords.com

Nice clip indeed.

Well they can now buy it from Kagdila for £20.25... a bit more reasonable! There are people that would pay for it anyway. Just to have it on the shelf or to re-sell it.

As far as I know, both albums had pressing runs of 2000, although I have never seen any paperwork and it's possible we were not given accurate figures. One other question, if it's not a business secret: in terms of units printed out and distributed on the market, which one of your first two albums would win out? Thus far I always had the feeling that "Breathing Space" was more sought after, despite being the fresher one.
Don't start.Haha, I wonder if any one of you O.O.O.D. guys ever made a clean 200 pounds for your input on recording the albums.
Please.
I can't afford to replace my laptop and I need my knuckles and fingers undamaged to play at Synergy weekend after next.

Are you sure that's eBay? Sounds very much like the Amazon page I posted earlier.Nope, the item is still there. Along with two other copies being sold for 69 pounds, which is still blowing the price out of proportion.

Full album available for download here:

It SOLD for £200?? Link?I'm primarily after their second output. After seeing it go for 200 pounds a few days ago on eBay, I got kind of discouraged though
That is more than my bills and monthly supply of food end up costing. And I still didn't start chewing on CDs, so...

ps. big artwork there *downloads*
sankiu mr colin d000d
Check the link. It's the whole album.

Oh wait, 25 quids for "Free Range"? And then people get pissed off when you tell 'em how psy trance is an elitist genre. Fuck, you gotta win the lottery first in order to properly enjoy the music.
Don't worry, you can still buy it for a reasonable price! That's just the most I've seen:
-
I just did a google product search... new copies are already selling for up to £25...I wonder how much Free Range will be worth someday
-
I've just seen today that Kagdila are selling copies of this album for £144 so if you want to hear it for a slightly cheaper price, you can download the whole album including artwork here, for free:

I just re-checked the booklet and the tracks were recorded during 1995/1996.Hey Colin, I understand that the album itself was published in 1996, but in the booklet it actually says that some of those tracks were recorded throughout 1994/1995 during various live gigs. Is that correct?
Its a very weird feeling. Happy/sad.As for the price, it's down right ridiculous. I cannot be unfair and say I can relate to your situation, as it must be weird seeing your own work going through the roof (price wise) and you getting a piece of the cake is out of the question
http://www.oood.net/public/OOOD_-_aLIVE_-_...nc._artwork.zipAnyways, an amazing album it is, maybe if the prices were more acceptable, it would reach a wider audience and recieve more appreciation.

Cabbaged was distributed by Flying; Flying went bankrupt and the stock they were holding was sold off to pay the debts.Does this mean that you got screwed by cabbaged or did cabbaged get screwed by the distro?
I really would like to know where they got all those copies from.
-
Very much so. An interesting mix of emotion, let me tell you.
-
Sure, I have one here on a copy of our first album. It'll cost you £600.Do they sell your autographs? Could I have one?
Really though that's just fucking shoddy. They've got the name of the album wrong, and considering most of the tracks on it were recorded in 1996 I'm not sure how they got hold of 123 copies from 1995.
So... copies of our first album are selling for £144.79, and copies of our second for £203.40. That gives me a distinct sensation of satisfaction.
If only my belly was as easily pleased. Oh, and the rear suspension on my car went wrong today so I've got to drive it to work with its ass dragging on the ground (not literally, luckily) until I can afford to fix it. I've just bought enough food to last me until I get paid though so as long as I get paid enough to cover my rent (didn't happen last month) I can spend my last £20 on fuel... you know you're skint when you can't even afford to cover your tobacco addiction...

Beautiful. Looking forward to the tweaked version

Doomsday is great! Very moody and the orchestra sounds good (much better than mine!); I really like the way you used the different articulations. And the vocals takes it a real step up in depth - the first time I heard them I got goosebumps - although even more layers would smooth it out a bit more. I love the ending!
Sorry for crashing the thread Billy, I didn't realise this was an old thread and that you'd bumped it to post your OWN track; I just read the first post and thought you were still looking for inspiration, I didn't read it to the end or look at the dates when I posted ... my bad

Wow... really nice Per. Echoes of Vince (as well as maybe Chris, I don't know) Clarke & Erasure, the Specials (for some reason it reminds me of Ghost Town), Tomcraft, console space-shooter games from the early 80s, Japan around Gentlemen Take Polaroids... I really like the way you've used stacatto vs. legato to introduce new sections... the panning on the fuzzy bassline is either really brave or stupid but really works very well. The bitcrush feel is a bit overdone for my personal taste but the track works excellently as a unit - every aspect complements every other. The melodies in the second half lift it up so much, and I agree with Billy they add a distinct emotional warmth to the track - very Boards of Canada! Love the chord sequences; the minor/major transition between the 2nd and 3rd chords just makes me want to hear it again and again, and the on-beat cymbals are a refreshing change to boom-tss-boom-tss. The only real negative thing I would say about the production is that the kickdrum is really really heavy in the bottom end but that shouldn't be difficult to sort out in post production Great stuff man.

In that case you might well be able to import the file directly into SX. (from memory) File -> Import -> Standard MIDI FileIt's a Korg 01/Wfd workstation ("fd" is floppy drive). I'm pretty sure it's DOS and SMF, yes.
-
What synth? Did you use an onboard sequencer? Is the disk DOS-formatted, and is the file on it stored in a Standard MIDI File format?I wrote some orchestral stuff in the early to mid-90s. I actually still have one of them from around 1995, but it's on a floppy for my synth, and I don't know how to get that data. Does someone know a way that I can record that info into Cubase? Colin?
Everyone should listen to Symphoid's Doomsday. It's awesome.

http://atarimagazines.planetmirror.com/com...4_CITY_2000.phpThat's cool, Colin. It's a very narrative piece with a lot going on. It certainly deserves genuine orchestral instruments. Wouldn't you love to be able to hear a real orchestra play your work? Man, that's one of my biggest dreams. Having only GM instruments was the main reason why I placed orchestral composition on the backburner for so long. It's frustrating to have these grand epic ideas that have limited translation.
What game was this for, some kind of fantasy adventure or RPG?
Thanks for sharing, Colin
Buy a copy here or here but be prepared for it not to run under XP or Vista!
