  3. Anyone have some good tips on creating good clear (not muddy, as in you can hear what note it is very well as compared to say a half or whole step down) bass sound?

I have an access virus if that helps with your tips at all...

Most particularly though: what are some good rules for filter settings and what's a generally good wave form to use? I've goofed around with it for awhile but it always comes out sounding muddy...also, I don't want a very squelchy sound but a more "real" sounding bass tone.

  4. Stupid question :P

No offense though! Same as: "If you were trapped on an island and could only have three cd's what would you choose?"

Totally impractictal, although I get the point :P It's just a silly one heh.

Regardless, my favorite song of the moment: Astrix & Alien Project - We have Ice Crystals

  5. Hope I don't sound like a retard (even though I may as well be...) but I really know very little about how home studios work.

Anyway, I just wanted to know how exactly using synths with computers works...

Say I'm creatin a song...and I wanna use a sound from a synth (Virus Access for instance, or some other virtual analog), how does this work exactly? Do you line-in and record the sound and sample it? Does this work in real time? How does the setup work?

Do you have MIDI coming out from the PC to the synth, then line-in from the synth to PC? As you see I'm pretty clueless! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if I were to use a true analog, how would you go about using that with a PC? Would I have to play a line or something and then record it into a sequencer rather than having the sequencer play notes?

    Agh...

    Thanks :P
