  1. This whole basslines things applies (in the end), more or less just like any sound other cointaned on the mix.

In my opinion, those tips about adding reverb, delays or distortion is way relative. Sometimes, all a bassline need is a better mix setting. Basically you have to fit on the track nicely

Sounds simple, but it isn’t and this settings goes along the preferences of the producer and the atmosphere he wants to produce on the track. You have to follow your ears and the numbers too. Watch out for the collapsing frequencies on the bottom end of the track. The very same region of the bass and kick that goes from around 90khz to 400khz. Anything under 60khz must go

Said that, I think you should concentrate on the basses of the sound… defines its wave form, length, attack, sustain levels etc….basically create a nice sound and then give the power on the mixing and using carefully effects processors.

    Do not rape the signal!

EQ, compression, distortion and everything else must be used carefully

So yeah…in order to have a good heavy bass sound, you need a clean signal ..and.... good will

Very nicely put mr Stalker :) I actually learnt from this thread that there is no such thing as asking "how do you..." because in the end, you will take what people said, and make your own thing out of it.

There is no howto for music, ive known that forever, but its good to get some tips and tricks sometimes. I am very used to use Hardware, so making a bass sound, sound good for me wassnt so easy... but when I fiddled about a little bit, it just sounded the way I would make one on the virus or on the juno :)

  2. Its well produced, but I dont like melodic trance. I shouldnt have clicked on it actually. Im sorry.

im only having you on mate, this track is not going to be like this, I made a full on bassline and added that melody just to fuck about really. Its already been deleted, and im continuing on my original ideas hehehehe :)
  3. hi

i would like to know what do u use for making fx effects:- not the reverb, phaser, flanger, delay-but the psyched out effects that we usually hear in goa/psy trance tracks.

if someone can guide me on how to make them and the vsts?

    thanks :)

what do you mean? Its mostly the above that gets applied to whatever sound you are using, and then you tweak it :)
  4. mm... i guess that your bass can sound better i think, more round. add some effects that can do a more liquid effects, like phaser or flangers in little proportions. i use that to make that effect. (well is just a suggestion  ).

im trying to undestand collin, but still dont get it... what do you mean with "it will sound out of proportion"?...

well im addicted to sub basses, i like out of proportioness haha :D  like midi-the delta style .

Yeah, I could make it more round, but im not after that at this moment. Im after that robot sounding (as almost put through a vocoder) type bass, but still not too much robot.. well kind of like the one that I am working on, but still not QUIET there.... :)

Yeah, I put flanger and phaser on my basses sometimes, it all depends what sound you would like to create. I find though, that if you do that, it takes away a lot of the lowlevels, and you need to add more eq, but still it doesnt really sounds nice.... oh well :) im just gonna keep on tryin with this software stuff :)

EDIT, NEXT bass will be a more round subby basy :) :)

  5. Yes... the kick is definitely way too bassy... it'll be out of proportion with the rest of the track.  If your speakers don't give you an accurate picture down there, have a look at the kick/bass though a spectrum analyser - the bottom end of both elements should be about as loud as each other.

cool, ill do so when I boot back into the music partition, had to burn some stuff and smoke a ciggy :)

Great tips im getting, and its good im getting them while im working :) The track is really going well I think, ive added some really weird sounds to it from Reaktor, and it sounds just tooo damn weird to be true, but it sounds good :)

  6. Sounds good to me.  As the track progresses you'll probably find yourself needing to add more highs to both the kick and bass though... or perhaps the kick has too much below 120Hz, it's difficult to tell.

Cool stuff :) The input is very well appreciated :) As I want to get away using the bassline from the virus completely, and use it only for effects and pads (which sounds the best anyways from the virus) :)

    Cheers mate! :)

  7. JJ is an amazing person indeed. He donated a logo to our label :) We are currently working on diffren variants of how to put the text around it, and diffrent colours etc.

I cant express how thankful I am for this, since we are at a startup for the label!! :) Excellent design if you ask me, the best logo we could ever get!!!!

Here is an example for what it MIGHT look like in the end:

    JJ: YOU ARE KILLLLLAAARRRFGGGHHHHH!!!! :D

Oh by the way, everyone I have shown this to, really thought the original coloring and the logo should be as it is now... so we might go with the original and keep the white background :) We will seeeeeee :)

Love and Light his way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
