  1. My first trance CD ever was Juno Reactor's best of "Odyssey". Even though this was a pretty cruddy best of release, I knew no better at the time and just wanted something cheap and easy to get into the genre. The first 4 tracks took me over and I wanted to hear more music like them (High Energy Protons, Laughing Gas, Feel The Universe and Rotorblade). There was an obvious difference in the music after those 4 songs, one that didn't much interest me. Eventually I discovered artists like X-Dream, Astral Projection, Chi-A.D. and MFG... other artists who made the type of music I wanted more of... but it all began with those 4 Juno tracks. Whenever I hear any of those 4 songs I remember how it all began.

  2. Well I can tell you Morphem - Out of Focus is one not to be missed. If you like X-Dream's sound in the 90s then you'll dig that one a lot. The CD is very well varied with even a few downtempo moments (mostly faster stuff though). Morphem makes use of liquid bass lines and guitars in a track. This is an artist that Tunnel should have invested more in at the time of the release

  3. Superintelligence is X-Dream doing what they do best. I love that pause in the track.. I also like the 4 vocal tracks, only because they are something different.. odds are if this wasn't an x-dream release i wouldn't be digging it. forced myself to like them really. i do expect more from their next album though because i agree this album didnt have a lasting appeal like their past cds

  4. I love everything X-Dream has done, including this... but I must say that Irritant is probably my least favorite of their's (yes i even like We Interface better then this). I think the reason is because this whole album sounds the same to me. Track after track is the same minimal hard beat. I don't really have any stand outs.. Sure its good, but its the only minimal trance album i own, and the only reason i own it is because its X-Dream!

  5. An underated release for sure. I would describe Morphem's sound on this CD to be very similar to X-Dream's work of the time. This isn't very surprising seeing how its a Tunnel release and that X-Dream are thanked twice in the insert (Jan also was the one who did the cover artwork for this album). The album is pretty varied from faster, upbeat stuff and there is a few downtempo moments here as well. I haven't heard Morphem's second CD so I can't tell what direction he took... But this CD should appeal to all X-Dream fans at least

  6. I like this one a lot. I prefer his first album the most... But this one is not bad goa trance for the year 2003. It seemed like he purposely wanted this to sound more 90's then the sound change most artists were doing at the time. I applaud him for that, but i'll agree that this doesn't hold much against his earlier songs. Still, he continues to be one of the best out there in my opinion

  7. Not a must-have if you're just interested in studio albums... this is a CD that collects their b-sides, remixes and side project tracks that Tunnel owned the rights to. My guess is they did this completely on their own (X-Dream themselves probably had nothing to do with the release) to cash in on X-Dream's success after Radio in 1998. It worked. I for one find this release a must simply because X-Dream is my favorite trance act ever. A nice collection of their older style work. (mostly along the lines of Trip To Trancesylvania and We Created Our Own Happiness sound)

  8. I can see why people put this album down. As a whole its not as good as their past albums, but there is some really good music on here. The last 2 tracks stand out pretty well (Heaven's Gate and Electric Blue)... But I think the real prize here is Infinite Justice. This is a very magical track to me... that beat reminds me just why i like trance to begin with

  9. He's saying that if you're a "huge fan of 90's goa" then you already know Transwave.

ok fine.. i am a big 90s goa fan. now with transwave in my collection i am gaining closer to having that huge fan status
