  1. Hmmm

my copy is very organic (mastering wise).

have yet to compare them to lucis flux/three om three tho.

    great album btw :)

    snake charmer/celestial/spiral expansion

    are freaking amaaaazing !

    thank you :)

    You Welcome!

The mastering was a difficult task, we had several mastering sessions to get the proper sound accurate and sharp. my favorite mastering is micronesia which sounds amazing. bright and clear,

Jamie was writing most of the tunes alone and it's clear that he was more focus on the vibe then polishing the sound.

There's also a very common thing with old tunes, back in the day there was no real mastering, everyone wants to sound loud, so a bit compression and limiter on the master bus would make it sound fat and big, and those are the master files, with limiter on it, which makes it almost impossible to master without manipulating the sound.

so the final result was very impressive I think that consider the challenges Tim Schuldt made an amazing mastering work here. gentle and accurate in one hand and quite polished and a bit aggressive on the other without "adding artifacts" to the sound.

  2. So were are we here? After 2 months pre-orders there are still (a lot of?) people without CD? On discogs currently only 12 people claim to have it, if you remove label owner, close people and fake (digital) additions the number is very low since a lot of active Goa-heads would have added this to collection.

So you are claiming that A LOT of people haven't received the CD's based on discogs "I have it" functionality, believe me, I respect your imagination and investigating skills, but this is far from reality.

I can tell you that a lot of our customers are not using discogs or psynews.

For some reason i'm getting the sense that you're just enjoying the heat... :)

  3. After ordering it in early December I received an e-mail that it had been sent back to the label. A few weeks later I received a new email that it had now been mailed a second time. That was a week ago.

We shall see. It's not just Anjuna on my end. I'm still waiting for two CDs from Zion604. Usually they're great, but this time...maybe since the radical distortion album didn't come out since January 15th that's why it's taking so long. At least I got downloads from them.

Are you mad at me Israel?

    MDK

    Never! :)

indeed there were some massive changes in the Israeli postal service in the last 6 months, they switched CEO, it was a national company, now it's moving to private, lots of crap, you guys feel it. and i feel sorry for that. but eventually it will all get sorted. I'm still bugging our account manager to make sure it's all get on time.

Though, It did cost us a lot of coffee and soda meetings with them

I can share with you that I'm still trying to figure out how to synchronize our shipping system to automatically print labels with the barcodes and all, we're almost there, once i'm done developing it then our ability to report back all packages to the post office instead of doing everything manually, that will force the postal service to process packages faster, for example, the first queue after a presale is always the fastest because it's under exporter agreement, that's why i'm pushing everyone to buy on pre-order, not because we afraid it will get distributed on the internet, but because a one chunk shipment is always faster. a single shipments are being processed manually... manually = slow.

  4. Alright, after everyone took the chill pill - let's clear up some things here:

    • Anjuna was not created for profit, so please keep your tongue clean, or far as i concern you really, and i mean it, you really don't need to buy our music if you feel someone is playing with your cash. believe me - We don't need your cash if that's what you feel.
    • Scroll up, almost no talks about music here with all the magical 303's in this album and none of you got the nuts to say, wwwaaaawww? all you care about is bandcamp? I mean, common, You're talking to one of the audiowarez scene founders here, how hard for you to dl it through torrent? :P
    • You have problem with shipping? that's why we have mailbox for :) we answer everyone 24h max. -
    • Note that those threads are made for music talk. happy talk, you feel angry? pissed? put a paypal dispute, ask for a refund, it's allllright maaaan!
    • Let me put it in simple words, THERE ARE NO TRANCE LABELS TODAY, it's all boutique labels, running by a one-man-show. 99% distributing through digital, none of you have the slightest clue how easy and simple is to upload a .wav file massively, make a front 1000x1000px cover art and viola! you have an album. I insist on printing, going through all the complex of top quality CD printing process which i know no one really care about, while we going pixel by pixel to make sure that everything is aligned, and QA'd properly.Just saying - look deeper, it's always good, there's a story behind all of this. there's a goal. there's a tribal thing here, and if you skip it, you're missing the whole point.
    • We do though give you a nice fancy invoice on each of your purchases, while no one else (almost) does in the digital world, so respect that we respect your money. and respect that we respect your hard earned money and that the fact that you're choosing to spend it to help the artists is a VERY IMPORTANT THING for us.
    • most of you don't know, but 99% of the artists that squeezed the shit out of themselves with acid to experiment a new style of music, to extract this whole magic into synth lines, wasted, lost their education, broke up families, left basically (mostly) with nothing, for me, they are still radiating and always will through music, their will to create music is extremely important, if our little push helps then yeah, we did it - together.
    • So yeah, we have shitty post office, but it's getting better and better... to make sure packages arrives in reasonable time we signed an exporter agreement, that means packages must leave israel in 24h range. you guys simply have no fucking bit of a clue how much efforts i did to make sure your goods arrives on time. so unless you want to pay 37$ for every copy through UPS......... that's how national mail works. we all know this.
    • Everyone who bought the Nervasystem album during Christmas period had delays, that's december-january in postal world, nothing new here
    • Regarding distributors, we have a LOT of local shops buying from us 100's of copies. we will NEVER outsource distribution exclusively. the main reason you see less labels today then 90's is because of that. those distribution companies caused massive loads of politics and intrigues between labels, when they fallen down they took lots of labels with them, there's no code of conduct there guys, sorry to be the messenger ;)

So let's keep it clean and positive, I've said what I had to say, you can agree, you can disagree it's alright as far as i'm concern, we will continue our hard work and enjoy it ;)

Enough depressing notes for one evening, have a great week guys.

PS. if you have something good to say, please - say it to Jamie :)

  5. Not to be a complete ass but if your wife was expecting to give birth why not delay the release? I'm sure customers would've understood. Otherwise get somebody you can trust to do the mail outs on time? I know how hard kids are. I've got a 2.5 year old (currently very sick) & 3 month old, but some simple forward planning can go a long way. Anyway good luck with it all. Kids are hard work but worth it. Also don't forget they're a lot stronger than we think.

Thanks for the advice about how to run a label and raise a baby :)

problem is - CD's were shipped 23 days before.

So this is the love and compassion everyone say's disappeared from the trance scene i guess ;)

Peace to you guys, don't bother to comment any more. I ain't going to read it.

    Tal

  6. Your comments guys are really out of order.

You can chose rather you wish to buy directly or not. honestly. after reading your comments, I don't really care.

I personally shipped over 270 copies in 3 days. if that's the feedbacks I'm getting from you guys after my contribution to the trance scene, you should self-criticize yourself, try to put yourself in my shoes once and understand the huge effort being done here to keep this vibe alive.

    Ps

Antic: you bought an album offered in preorder, you should read carefully next time what you buy. all our albums are offered this way for one month.

    Peace,

    Tal

  7. Hi Antic,

Indeed, out of 300 shipped copies 18 returned, that is statistically acceptable. although we are always looking for ways to improve our shipping methods and arrival time.

I care for anyone, otherwise i wouldn't be spending my time and efforts on releasing this music, compiling, producing, packing, shipping, building the website, investing money that you others can hold this music, so frankly, and i'm really being honest, I don't care though for people that flame, if one chooses to state that he is not buying directly from us, i'm fine with that, nothing personal at all. note that not every smile is cynical ;)

Small question, how can you declare that the album sale started 1 month before it was printed? which is quite wrong.

Beside that sorry if answering on emails is slow in the past 2 weeks, My child was born on 25th of December and I've been on/off feeding and replacing diapers since then :)

    Peace, Tal.

  8.

This is the single best response to all of this.

Very good point. I forgot that these tracks were all recorded an bounced down to DAT or disk long before people were finishing tracks in higher bit rates.

For labels like this and DAT records, totally no need for releasing higher bit rate audio files

    :)

Thanks for the awesome releases thus far!

Looking forward to hearing more of what you release

    Thank you ;)

Stay tuned as more releases coming up soon.

  9. Is there another place to order this than Anjuna Records bandcamp/Discogs? I feel saddened to have lost taste in this label, but giving the fact I provided 2 tracks for this compilation (Total Eclipse + Tandu) I don't think it was too much to ask for the label to send me one copy free of charge - which I did and the label said they would (2 times) but nothing happened.

You know, even if you order our CD's from another shop, they still coming from the main Anjuna shop :)

and ps. I shipped you two copies :::-)))

  10. Also, if you sell digitally, you can sell the nice 24-bit audiophile stuff and give us audio snobs something worthy of our cash.

A 16-bit CD rip is kind of ghetto in this day and age...

Really? Can you perceive the difference when listening to the music?

    Hi,

Well. just think that most of the tracks we released came from 16/44 DAT tapes, it would be a filthy lie to sell it as 24/96. Would you guys be kind enough to sponsor our next DA converter for 10k$? :P

In today's music industry there's a lot of eye candy, gold rush behavior to make you feel good with what you buy, we don't participate in this ;) so yeah, we will continue releasing digital in 16/44 as it was recorded.

  11. I think that the freedom to experience has dropped, captured by society's standards and fashion demands, slowly it enters the only free domain of any rules or obligation.

Everyone afraid to admit that "psychedelic music" has turn from intelligent form of music intro a mind controlling mechanism that serves the drugs.

Very similar methods, and in my perspective - flows side by side.

But it's a phase, eventually those "newcomers" will replace this with something else...same as upgrading their iPhone. ;)

  12. Hello Goa-Heads !

A few days after the release of Ten Spins Around the Sun by Suntrip Records, which contains pretty daring experiences (i'm thinking in : E-Mantra remixing Crossing Mind, and Filteria remixing Khetzal), I got in the mood to talk about our secret fantaisies, our hopes, our phantasms concerning Trance, Pychedelic and Ambient music in general.

    Then, I asked myself :

If I was an all-mighty psy/trance/ambient label owner with (almost) infinite powers, what album/compilation would I like to create ?

To make it shortly, what would be the CD of my dreams ?

The purpose of this topic is to let you create in imagination this magical object, that doesn't exist, and surely never will, but if it did, it would be so incredibly amazing for you.

If a magical genie was telling me to make a wish in this sense, I would formulate one of these two following options (my favorite is the second one).

Everything that follows is mere fiction !!!

    First option

A Double Goa Trance CD made with psytrance artists

I really would like to know how psytrance acts would sound if they had to made Goa 604 Trance.

That is why I imagined this :

In 2015, the newborn psychedelic label Starfact Records, willing to open new perspectives in the world of newschool goa, released an amazing double CD (called Elements) whose goal is to shake the actual scene.

The first CD contains exclusive Goa Trance tracks written by some of the most accomplished psychedelic acts out there. These projects were asked to describe their own vision of the mother-genre of every modern electronic psychedelic music, using the traditionnal organic rhythm, acid loops and oriental patterns, in the spirit of the old days, but adding to it their own touch.

Those projects represents the many aspects of the psychedelic scene, with songs illustrating four essential Elements of this scene :

    Ambient

    01. Carbon Based Lifeforms -- Panorama

    02. Astropilot -- Through the Rift

    Morning

    03. Suduaya -- Night View

    04. Mindwave -- Magnetic

    Hi-tech

    05. Furious -- Nevermind

    06. KinDzaDza -- They Took my Sanity

    Underground

    07. Electrypnose -- Le Grand Combat

    08. Merkaba -- Above Meridians

    Bonus track

    09. Cybernetika feat. Morphic Resonance -- Planetary Movement

Tracks 01 and 02 are gentle midtempo Goa Trance with minimal melodies and heavy atmospheric layers.

Tracks 03 and 04 consists of more full-onic Goa songs, with efficient sunny melodies.

Tracks 05 and 06 are fast Goa songs, with raw, gargling experimental sounds.

Tracks 07 and 08 include exotic sounds, recalling some of the most original early Goa projects.

Track 09 is just a crazy dark-toned sci-fi delirium with a pure Goa vibe.

The second CD of Elements is no less original. It contains eight Goa Trance remixes of songs from the projects aboveseen. Those remixes are made by some recognized Newschool Goa producers.

    Imaginary tracklist :

    01. Carbon Based Lifeforms -- Supersede (Khetzal Remix)

    02. Astropilot -- Svar-Ga (Ra Remix)

    03. Suduaya -- Divine Healing (JIS vs CoaGoa Remix)

    04. Mindwave -- Rhythm (Artifact303 Remix)

    05. Furious -- Somnambulo (Sky Technology Multidimensional Remix)

    06. KinDzaDza -- Intergalactic boom (Aurax Remix)

    07. Electrypnose -- Leo Zitrone (Antares Remix)

    08. Merkaba -- Galactic Ohm (Siam vs Lectro Spektral Daze Remix)

    Second option (favorite)

A Goa Trance album made in Altar Records

Here I imagined that three stars from Altar Records ---- E-Mantra (Emmanuel Carpus), Astropilot (Dmitriy Redko) and Suduaya (Louis-David Roquefere) ---- joined their forces into one unique Goatrance/psybient band, that would be called Artemis.

Their first release as a trio, called Dance to the Stars, would revolutionize the world of melodic trance and ambient, being a contemporary equivalent of Pleiadians - I.F.O.

It would contain very rich songs, full of colors, with a strong emphasis on textures, atmospheres. Their would be joyous melodies stressed by a precise bassline.

It would be essentially a (goa ?)Trance album, with two long psybient tracks in the end.

It would tell the story of a planet gone astray into a shapeless nebula.

Here is the imaginary tracklist :

    01. Intro <01:27> 70 bpm

    02. Artemis -- Arcturus <07:22> 144 bpm

    03. Artemis -- Cosmic Foutain <08:34> 135 bpm

    04. JIS -- The Illusions of Reality (Artemis Remix) <08:03> 145 bpm

    05. Artemis -- Another Dream <06:57> 145 bpm

    06. Artemis -- Perfumes <09:07> 150 bpm

    07. Artemis -- Vacuum <07:48> 138 bpm

    08. Artemis -- Fade Away <11:51> 87 bpm

    09. Artemis -- Dance to the Stars <13:48> 87 bpm

That's it. This would be the album of my dreams. Nothing else to add.

Uhm, I never remixed KinDzaDza tune, don't even know who the guys is :/

    06. KinDzaDza --

    (
    Remix)
  13. It will come, don't worry :) We are getting more and more promos/goa in this direction as well... more variety coming up! :) The Shakta album at the end of oct will be in this vein for sure already...

(although for me, a wonderful melody will always be the best thing in goa-trance music... Sometimes I want madness and acid and darkness, but a superb melody will always give me goosebumps, even in 20 years) :)

But it is always like this, people begging for goa, they get goa, then they want different goa/darker goa, and when there is too much darker, they want bright again etc... :P the best is to have many kinds on different labels imo anyway :) but Anjuna is clearly on the darker path

Maybe on the more challenging path :)
