  1. Man, this is caustic. I really like your tracks. I only wish you had given them a more powerful kick (is this the name you music writers give to the drum?), it would be perfect. My rating is 9/10.

Yes you are correct , it's the kick drum aka bass drum.

Tried my best on it , sometimes it's not easy working with analogue gear.

I distorted it to give more power and it sounds really powerful on my KRK monitors , maybe you're reffering to bringing the kick more to the forefront or a different type of kick drum sound?

    I use a vintage novation drumstation for 909 / 808 sounds , the kick i used in the record it's a classic 909 kickdrum.

9/10 is more than awesome , nothing's perfect so , i'm very happy with it .

  2. such things happen occasionally to artists and aren't always intentional. one of my early tracks contains exactly the same melody as talamasca's time simulation (using a similar lead sound), a fact which i only noticed after the whole thing was finished ;)

that's also true. nowadays there's a lot of possibility to produce something that has been produced already without even noticing it. that's because so much music has been done and it's hard to come up with something really original these days.

like ritual om refered , filteria used the same kind of riff and it's only a 2 note one that hux flux done already.

there's also a track from cyan transmissions that sounds probably the same or very close to one of the cosmosis key to the innverse track.

it happens , best thing is to research the records and get to know whats been done and whats not been done so that the producer can be into the stuff he's doing and at least try to stay away to whats been done or not.

  3. Very interesting sounds you make there, mr. DocVonOoze.

I'll make sure that I remember the name for I'm very interested in further developments / releases...

If you really consider releasing this type of stuff on vinyl too, respect to you!

    Many thanks.

I actually contacted a vinyl pressing plant but unfortunatly there's not enough cash to do it.

Maybe someday , it's something i would love to do.

These guys should lower them prices on vinyl manufacture so that vinyl could do a comeback but oh well , unfortunaly i have to do a digital release or a cdr one (if requested).

    nice one!

good luck on this project will buy and support for sure

The album just got released as an EP you can find it here:

    http://acprecords.ba...bum/in-vitro-ep

It's only available as a digital release but if i get enough requests for a physical media i'll be happy to put it on a CDr at least.

At the moment i'm working in more tracks as the studio gear changed a bit.

Thank you all for the kind support and thanks again for sharing the love for the Old School Goa.

  4. I've never heard of any level differences in LP vs. non-LP. Even if that's the case, that's what the preamp is for.

spoke with a pressing plant about it , they said that 15min on each side will sound terrific , the price for a 100 vinyl run is around 800 pounds...

maybe someday , it's a big risk for me to spend some money on a new goa vinyl release and then no idea if people will buy it... but yea would love to bring new old school goa back to vinyl.

Veracohr , im not sure about the preamp , i think for lp's the grooves have to be smaller in order to extend the time , so the space between the grooves is fairly reduced and of course the volume will be sacrificed i think.

  5. I'm thinking about throwing Goa back again in vynil , making an LP around 30min.

Done some research and seems that LP will have reduced levels due to the grooves in order to fit more time. Is this true?

What do you specialists recommend for a vinyl? I'm not thinking about pressing too many copies either , dunno if there's actually people that will want vinyl , i'm mostly doing this for myself as i am an old school acid / goa purist.

Any good pressing plants in europe/uk? Is price accessible for indie artists?

    Thanks.

  6.

Lovely. Good luck with album, gonna check it for sure!

Whow, what a throwback to the 90s! That track is f'in bliss! :)

Docvonooze, I salute you. Keep it coming.

    Thanks Richpa & Oopie.

At the moment i'm looking for a label for it , if not , i will release it independently as a CD-R (at least).

  7. Now finally that the whole studio is all set up , a new Old School Goa album is in the works.

The album is being produced fully with hardware equipment (like the old days).

The quality of the recording itself is digital , not analogue DAT or cassette tape. The sound is sharp but since that cables , mixer , fx's and instruments are used the source is analogue (this can be very discussable regarding that some hardware synths are 'virtual analogue' but let's move on , it's still hardware.)

Doesn't matter if it remember you of Amanite FX or even Luminus or any other artist from the Old School Goa Generation (most of the times i'm producing and i get old school vibes , so if it happens to me i'd say it'll happen to you)

I'm a producer heavily influenced a lot by the old records , I take it as a compliment and I am producing this mostly to myself to keep the old vibes alive in our present days so if you like it then , cool.

Not copying anybody , following a specific style or even trying to hype myself with some big Old School Act , no , it's just me making music , but since i am a lot influenced by the Old School , probabilities are that this will remind of some Old School Artist/Band.

To conclude , love it or hate it here's 1 track i've kindly uploaded on youtube for everybody to listen and then i leave each one of you with your own conclusions and opinions about it.

    Keep the Old School alive.
