Before I say this, I have never heard decent vocals on a Psy track, not having heard many with vocals to begin with. I don't mind some chanting, but I feel lyrics tend to morph the track to follow it, just cheesfying the tune.
Lyrics can be good in a Psy track though if it were sparse, not really focused, but more tied into the song as just a layer. It would be pretty neat if there were processed vocals, similar to alot of Industrial music, but less aggro-abrasive and more psychedelic-organic. If this were tied in just not as a main element vocal, but more thought as a long flowing lyrical sample, I am sure something innovative could pop-out.

Different tracks suite my different moods.
If I had to pick one, it would have to be a tie between the multiple forms of "The Rezwalker"; I just cannot pick a specific tune. Nothing beats driving around listening to a continious Transwave mix, a fact I am sure of.

I double-checked this track, and it is not Darshan's- simple mistake when reading flimsy MP3 ID tags. I will edit that post immediately. I apologize for the confusion.

Now, is there a way I can hear some of these older obscure artists without scouring Discogs and eBay for a few weeks until a hard copy comes up for sale?
As for me, I don't know any less-represented psy artists that everyone else here is not already familiar with.

Well, technically, I first heard some decent goa tunes in the form of MODs from hobby music producers over the past four years.
But I never really knew what it was called and looked into it further until I heard some tunes, probably some full-on being played by Grandaddy DJ, being played of Digitally Imported's online radio, around early September of 2004. So I vote mp3, because an m3u is technically just a streaming mp3 file.

Magnificent! It just glides you along from a dreamy state in the beginning, to a strong triumph in the end. It is a very relaxing and comforting tune. The tune almost feels like an sonic metamorphosis. I am sure your friend will like it.
I can expect to hear more tunes like this? On a compilation? On an album?

Informative thread. This is really my favorite style of Goa, and I see some albums in this thread that really look like I should research some more. But then in retrospect, isn't almost all Goa spacey?

This event will find place on my calendar. I have never been to psy-party before, but I might as well start at an event where I am more assured there won't be any sound-spectrum filler.

The last one is definately worth holding. If I must recommend one thing to improve upon, it is that the clashing at the bottom can be reduced a little bit, but if that is the effect you are aiming for, it still looks great.

Magnificent news. I never really have heard anything from Ra other than To Sirius, which I must proclaim, was and still is a top notch, well-produced, wonderfully constructed album. I am looking forward to more information about this new release.

From my quick listen, the note changes could use some better transitioning. Other than that, it sounds like an average beatless ambient track.

This action supports my belief that live DJs are ultimately unecessary for parties, clubs, etc. if one wants to strap down on money and "throne-space". A simple pre-mixed CD running mp3s can last hours, all it requiring paying someone to make some mix in a virtual DJ program and send it to an event manager to set-up. I am in no way saying DJs are worthless- a live DJ interacting with the audience can be worth it at times, but ultimately, in order to have a party you don't need one.
But the DJ problem isn't that bad in the psy-scene anyway; most attention rightfully goes towards producers and musicians. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is not as though we have DJs demanding six-figure U.S. dollar salaries like in the euro-pop trance scene, most just do it for fun and a hobby to support the scene.

I do remember quite clearly playing "Emperor -Battle for Dune", remembering even more brightly the soundtrack to the game. I was a big fan of the soundtrack, and thought it was very well produced. Although, until you posted those two samples, I could not remember what specifically had been so unique about the soundtrack. All I can remember is that it was responsible for getting me more interested in electronic music, but that is another thread.
Anyway, the stuff sounds like psychedelic post-industrial breaks, although that doesn't describe much. I found it to be akin to something similar to Front Line Assembly's newer work since '99, or Diverje, but broken up and psychedelialized. Anyway, I don't expect to hear more things like this. I just can't see the psy of these days leaning off into this sort of sound. I could see stuff like this spawning from people attempting to follow Process's sound, but currently, no-one really does that.
Actually, now thinking about it, this stuff sounds alot like The Synthetic Dream Foundation.
Now I am tempted to re-install Emperor and finally beat that campaign.

*Sets-up a countdown timer in my head for May 15th!*
The samples sound great, I will be purchasing this album, but I feel intuitively that those small clips do not justice at all for the album, even if I haven't heard the album yet. This should be exciting when it finally reaches my CD drive.
